advice

When I broke up with my boyfriend for cheating on me, I gave away a 40$ necklace he gave me to my best friend. She was so mad at what he did, she broke it into a ton of little pieces.
Now my mom wants me to give the necklace back to him (she doesn't know my friend broke it) but I don't know what to do! I don't want to tell her my friend broke it, but I have no clue what to do now!

Honesty is the best policy [it really is]...
You need to be honest with your mom and tell her that your friend broke it, and tell her it was an accident.. which I think it was, from what you wrote.. or was it on purpose?
Whichever, you need to be honest with your mom, she deserves at least that from you.

when a guy is kinda always asking you who you like and then you ask him back and he says " i like three people" and only names two of them, and won't tell me the third. does that mean he likes you or does he just want to know who you like.

Myself, being a guy, would have to say that the guy most likely likes you. But this isn't 100% certain...

Should you use hot or cold water to wash your face. I heard one of them was better than the other.

Hot water is best since it opens up your pores, allowing the face wash to get into them, and clean them out!

OK i need all of your opinions! i have to write a story, and i'm deciding between two plots. I need as many opinions as possible please! thanks
1. about a girl, 15 or so, her mother died when she was very young, over the summer she is in a store and meets a woman in her 30's, 40's, the woman tells her about a place up the mountain where she is landscaping this whole big beautiful garden like thing. The woman offers to teach her to garden in return for the girl helping out. they start to do that and become friend. All the while the younger girl is kind of seeing this woman as a mother figure even though the woman isn't doing anything motherly, they're just friends. In the end, she puts too much trust in the woman, and is disapointed because the woman like goes away without telling her or something else bad that she knows a "mother" wouldn't do. And it's basically about that, just how when people want something so badly they see things that aren't really there. She wanted a motherly so desperately that she clung to anyone and was let down.

2. a girl in ny city, her mother dies and she finds an adress of a family member(she doesn't know any of her relatives) they live down south so she goes there to find them. She finds out that her "mother" is actually her aunt her took her away when her mother went crazy. So it's about her learning about the south and meeting family and getting to know her mom.

which should i do? i'm better at descriptions than big exciting course of events. which one is more original and crative, and what should i do? does the first one seem like boring, like it's been done before and is too disney, cliche, boring?

PLEASE HELP ME DECIDE

I think it is so awesome that you are into writing stories [even if its for a school assignment].
I agree that the first one does sound cliche and disney.. but if you put a twist into it like its actually her in the future or something...
That hasn't been done a lot.. so it would seem more creative.
The second one I don't quite understand.. and it doesn't seem interesting to me.. but if that's what you want to do.. then go right ahead.

Basically I suggest you do the first one, no matter how cliche.. because sometimes not taking the cliche route is actually cliche, because everyone thinks not to go cliche... if that makes sense...

Hey-

Sometimes its hard to go up to someone, go through the usual questions like "sup?" and "how are you?", and then carry the conversation on and keep it interesting.

When I talk to people, even closest friends, I run out of or don't know what to say, so I say the most random things.. and it keeps the talk going...

That doesn't always work, however. Ask the person exactly how their day went. Like for details.. not just the "It was okay" thing..
Ask about weekend plans or after school plans. Ask them about their siblings. Ask them how they're doing in school. Ask them what their interests are. What their favorite TV shows are and why.

Just ask them anything you don't already know about them.

losing that much weight in 5 days isn't something you should even try.

I've been in the same situation.
I wanted to dump my girlfriend, and I had good reasons as well. I didn't want to though in fear of hurting her feelings. I, like you, had support from friends.

If you have good reasons to break up with him, then I say you need to go for it, because staying in the relationship is wrong.

Also.. if you don't ever want to be in a situation, such as a relationship, then you don't have to be.. and you can end it if you want.

If breaking up is what you truly want, then you need to trust your heart, and worry about someone else's feelings later, no matter how selfish that may sound.

Does anyone know where I can download free music for an ipod besides Limewire?

Hey!

Like the person below said- Bearshare.
I've used it- and it works really well. The songs always have great quality (provided you pick a song with a high rating, i.e. songs with a lot of green in the meter next to them)

Just be sure not to download too many songs at once, because, like the columnist below said, Bearshare is illegal, and you don't want to be caught using it! ;-)

I'm a guy. Although acne is kind of disgusting, I myself have some, and I understand that teenagers can't control it. So, I notice it at first glance, maybe, but then I forget about it, and view the person for who they are, not what they look like.

One of the most important lessons you'll learn being a teenager is that it really is on what the inside that counts. And I'm not just saying that..

ok i have a very complictaed problem.
so i met this emo guy at my friend's church. let's call him jim*. so jim and i hit it off from the start, he's sweet, funny, and is very understanding, but about a year ago his girlfriend anna* broke up with him and he cut his wrists for a while, because he changed himself for her and loved her alot. he told me his whole story and after like 4 months, he asked me out. i said yes.but we broke up about a week after b\c i hadnt seen him since we met! i only saw his myspace pictures and talked to him on im and the phone maybe twice. he mainly broke up with me b\c od "distance"- he lives 45 mins away and goes to another school. after that he went back out with anna and some other girl stacy* then jim was single throu the summer. we didnt talk at all really after the break up- at one point we had no contact for 5 months! then, recently, all of a sudden, he IMed me and i said that he and i should talk more. i started to fall for him again. my friends talked to him for me as well and he told them that he liked me. so we started IMing and messaging on myspace. we arent at the pint of calling eachother yet, but heres my worries;some times when i send him a message, all he does is read and never writes back. and his now ex-girl friends are (i know this sounds upsessive) # 1 and 2 on his myspace top 8. he sees them at school and at church and i never get to see him. they ALWAYS call him and it worries me that, i dk, he may like one of them more than me. i really want him to be my boyfriend, but im scared about the long-distance, never-seeing-eachother-thing. plase help! i really want him to open up to me about his true feelings. thank you for reading this and thank you in advance!

This sounds complicated, but it really has a simple solution. You need to not become so close to "Jim", because relationships over the internet never work. Relationships only work if they are in person; not via mypsace, txt message, or the phone. I understand that you may not want to hear me say this, but its only for the best. Unless you are going to see him in person, I suggest you don't entangle yourself in him.

i had to give away my pets because my mom didnt want the cat scratching up the couch and she had a kitten that was doing the same and my dogs had nuthing to do with it and sge made me give them up to

i had them for about 9 years and it makes it really hard for me to deal with
i had to do a project on my favorite pet(s) in the world and during my presentation i just totally broke right down and i cant do this by myself..

how can i deal with my grief??

Hey-

I'm sorry about your loss. Losing pets can be really tragic and sad for a lot of pet owners. I know how you feel, because I have lost 3 pets before (all cats). Sometimes I would think about it, and start crying. It's really nothing to be ashamed of, because it happens to a lot of people. Talk about how you're feeling with a friend or trusted teacher. If talking doesn't help, you could always try to write, like in a journal, how you are feeling, and that way, your emotions will be let out, even if its only on paper.

Remember- don't feel ashamed to cry- everyone has at one point or another.

No one here has the ability to diagnose a guinea pig with an infection, and I certainly do not either. If you are really worried, it wouldn't be a bad idea to go see a vet.

My friend thinks that I'm anorexic. She even told me she thinks it, because according to her I've gotten "bonier". I don't know what to say or do because there is absolutely no way that I am anorexic. I mean yes there have been a few nights where I've skipped dinner because of pure exhaustion, and i don't always eat lunch in school, but i still maintain a healthy eating pattern. I started high school this year, and between stress and joining the swim team and swimming 4 times a week, i lost about 6-7 pounds. But I'm still 5'1, 122 lbs which is a little bit above average. What should I do to make her believe me? Talking hasn't helped much.

This is a serious accusation she is making. She might not realize it, but just saying that to any one, even your best friend, can cause them to become anorexic. Now, under your circumstances, I understand why she might think you are anorexic. It seems like the only thing you can do to prove you are not anorexic, besides eating around her, is to tell her everything you just told me. Tell her about how sometimes you are very exhausted when you get home, so you don't eat dinner, and sometimes you just aren't in the mood to eat. The same thing happens with me, and I know for a fact that I'm not anorexic. Just sit her down and tell her every reason why you are not anorexic. If she doesn't believe you right away, she will eventually. Her telling you is showing, in a way, that she really cares about your health, so try not to get mad at her.

You are physically able to, but it isn't a good idea in the later stages of pregnancy. In the first 2 months- it really isn't a big deal.

The reason why it is best to not have sex when you are pregnant is because you can hurt yourself,and even worse, the baby.

No- general columnists do not know who is asking what questions. The only people who know are the Level 2, 3, and 4 moderators (which isn't a lot of people). This feature is good, because you can ask a question, and no one will know its you, so if you have friends on this site, they won't realize that you're the one asking the question.

15/f. I don't know if this is under the right category or not.

Okay. My Nanny(Grandma) is very special to me. She's always been there for me. One of my fondest memories of her is when my boyfriend (of 10 months) and I ending up breaking up.. she dropped all what she was doing just to give me junk food and watch movies with me until I was okay.

So since she's always been there for me and did stuff for me when I needed it.. I want to do something AMAZING for her this holiday season..
not just the perfect gift but I want her to remember this holiday season.

This sounds like a really important Grandma to you, and you should definitely cherish every moment with her.
I think that the best gifts are the most simple ones- the ones that come from the heart. She's older, so she doesn't want material posessions.
A handmade card with a handwritten message about how much you appreciate her and how much you love her, and how much you care for her. Maybe make some homemade cookies, and give her a few; anything that will scream, "I TOOK TIME TO MAKE THIS FOR YOU BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!"

Even something like the card idea will touch her heart. Trust me. The elderly find joy in the most simple things.

for my birthday i got a pink iPod nano. so i didn't have iTunes set up yet, and my sister loaded music from her account onto my iPod. now i have iTunes set up, and i don't know how to get the music on my iPod into my iTunes music library. help please!

Hmmm...

I'm pretty sure that you can't get music from your iPod to your iTunes.. its the other way around. The songs that you have on your iPod are on some iTunes somewhere, so your iPod thinks that those are you iTunes, and it won't let you take those songs to another iTunes, if that makes sense.

I have a serious problem, I always get boners in the middle of class and i have to get up alot and i dont want people to see me. I am not getting hard because the teacher is hot either because, beleve me, she is NOT! Does any else have this proble, how can I fix it???? Any bit of info will help!!!

Interesting question-

Well I suggest that you sing the national anthem or some song that you like when you get one, and if that doesn't work, just try to focus on your school work, or something else, like what you're having for dinner, or what's in your lunch, or how ugly the teacher is.

I am pretty sure that he doesn't have a thing for you. You guys know each other through a church thing, and that is the only way, so I don't think a real romance could develop from just that. He might have a minor crush on you, but it won't become anything unless you hang out outside of the church thing.

Remember: true love doesn't happen over the phone, over the internet, or through text message; true love happens in person.
