I know how to start like just go up to someone but how do you keep it going..There are alot of awkward pauses and stuff can anyone help me
and im a guy
Organized_Chaos answered Wednesday January 10 2007, 8:28 pm: Ask people open ended questions, like questions that can't be easily answered with yes or no. Put the focus on the person, pay attention to them when they talk, if there is an awkward pause don't glance around and say Soooo.... Ask another question or say something related to what you were saying earlier. Keep eye contact, it keeps people more interested. [ Organized_Chaos's advice column | Ask Organized_Chaos A Question ]

Sometimes its hard to go up to someone, go through the usual questions like "sup?" and "how are you?", and then carry the conversation on and keep it interesting.
When I talk to people, even closest friends, I run out of or don't know what to say, so I say the most random things.. and it keeps the talk going...
That doesn't always work, however. Ask the person exactly how their day went. Like for details.. not just the "It was okay" thing..
Ask about weekend plans or after school plans. Ask them about their siblings. Ask them how they're doing in school. Ask them what their interests are. What their favorite TV shows are and why.
Just ask them anything you don't already know about them.
