advice

okay so i think i'm jealous of some of my friends with boyfriends. they've hooked up, and there all so happy together. and i feel like crying really hard. i've never even had a first kiss. and whenever a guy likes me it's when i dont like him. in 5th grade this guy asked me out and i liked him but said no because i was scared, and now i regret it like hell. i just wish i had someone special that cares about me. it burns inside to see my friends so happy. i dont know how to make myself happier. none of the guys like me, and i have friends who get dates with really popular guys, even though there not the most popular girls and there not mean. i just feel like an abandoned puppy. how come no one likes me? no one wants me..
how am i supposed to feel better about this?

Seriously, I've been single most of my time as a young adult, and I'm just fine with it, sure I do get a little jealous at points, but I learn to deal. Not having a boyfriend, or a girlfriend in my case, shouldn't be the end of the world. You have so much more freedom than your friends. They have an obligation to hang out with and be with someone. You don't. They have to spend extra money on holidays, anniversaries, birthdays, etc. You don't. They feel heartbroken when the relationship ends. You don't have to worry about that. Do you see the point I'm trying to make? If you ever feel like you're left out, just remember that there is someone for everyone; you just might not find anyone near that until you're around 20 or so. Don't feel like you NEED a boyfriend, its really overrated. So many people are in your situation, and they are doing GREAT! Take me for example. =]

Hi, I'm 15/f.
Sometimes when I wake up in the morning, and I walk around, and open my eyes, it's all black and I can't see a thing. Then after a few seconds (around 10), the blackness clears and I can see everything fine again.
This has been occuring for a few years now.

Does this happen to anyone else? Why is it happening?

I think you're having minor blackouts, but I could be wrong. I'm not an optometrist, and I doubt anyone else is, so I guess what you should do is tell your mom, dad, or guardian, whoever is in charge at your house (whoever pays the bills =]), and tell them that this is happening to you. Then, have them take you to an optometrist, eye doctor, or a regular doctor.

I have strep throat. I've been prescribed with medication. When would I be able to start running again? I ran monday, had to stay in bed tues & wed. Right now I feel horrible so tomorrow is looking doubtful. If I'm improved on friday, would that be good? Or should I wait till monday? I'm afraid of gaining weight. Thanks!

I would say Monday would be fine. Usually it takes people a week or so to get over strep throat, at least from my friends' experiences. Since you're obviously a runner, I assume you're athletic, and will most likely get over it quicker than most.

And don't worry about gaining weight. If you can any weight at all, it will be less than a pound. I'm sure you'll be able to run anything you do gain off in no time!

how many people (and estimate) use advicenators?? thanks

I just checked two minutes ago, and there are 45,700 registered, but I assume that about 10,000 don't ever use theirs, don't log on, or don't remember their passwords. So I would say there are around 30,000-35,000 that have used theirs at least once this year.

I estimate that only 1,000 actually care about this site and log on every day.

does anyone know any diet pills that are effective and that 14 year olds can buy? and that are also not too too expensive? i need to lose some weight and what i'm doing is not working out.
and i'm probably ruining my body but i don;t care anymore. 121 pounds is too much for me.

Even though you're not going to want to hear this, I have to say it. Don't, whatever you do, take diet pills. Yes, they will mess up your body, and its not going to be good. You'll feel worse than being normal [i.e. 121 pounds for a 14 year old]. Plus, you're really young and probably can't buy them anyway.

Trust me, you're perfect the weight you are. Would you rather be really skinny and sick all the time.

Please, don't ruin your body. Please.

ok well basically.. like a week ago i broke up with my boyfriend. for lots of reasons.. i wont name them all (but some of them were kinda mean). and so then i was a bitch to him.. dont ask me why.. i still liked him i just was trying to push him away for some reason b/c my friends didnt like him & stuff. so now i feel like basically hates me but i still like him a lot like i feel like i cant live without him.. we had been going out for like a year and so now idk what to do b/c i think he likes this other girl. and like i said sorry like a million times and he accepted my apology & stuff but now idk what to do b/c i feel like i dont have a chance anymore b/c of how i treated him and i know its all my fault but is there anything else i can do?

To be completely honest, there isn't much more you can do. You've apologized and he didn't take you back. I understand why he wouldn't either. You say you broke up with him for many reasons:
"i still liked him i just was trying to push him away for some reason b/c my friends didnt like him & stuff."

There's the problem. Just because your friends don't like who you're going out with doesn't mean you have to dump him. That was shallow and unnecessary. If your friends pressured you into dumping him, which i don't know, because you don't say, then I suggest you find new friends. Because if they are that mean and bitchy about YOUR boyfriend- they aren't the type of people you should be hanging out with.

Yes, you need at least 5 ratings- and no, they don't have to be all 5s. They can be anything. If one isn't showing up on your column, try answering a few more questions to get more ratings, and if an average rating doesn't appear, contact DN at dangernerd@gmail.com

Life is too short to wonder what a relationship could have been. I suggest you try it out. If your going to college affects the relationship too much, its okay to let it drop. At least you won't wonder what it could have been. =]

I'm sure its like any other shot. It hurts for a second, then it doesn't. Your arm might get stiff in the next few days, but it will go away quickly.

Okay, so I've known this guy for 5 days. He asked me out 2 days ago [I said yes] and I really like him. He's 16, I'm 15 [we're 10 months apart & he's a year ahead of me in school] He seems nice enough, but I'm not sure if he's jsut trying to get in my pants.


Anyway, I kissed him yesterday [and he tried to use tongue] I wouldn't let him, because I wasn't ready for it. Was I right in doing that, or should I have let him do whatever he wanted?

I believe you were right in doing that. The relationship should progress only how fast BOTH of you want it to. If you didn't want any making out, you don't have to. Let him know this, and if he gets mad, he most likely is just trying to get in your pants. I would suggest finding someone that you've known longer and that you can trust; this guy knew you for 3 days and asked you out- doesn't that, in itself, explain it all?

what does it feel like?

This has been a question before, so I'll just copy my answer from there.
I can't say that I've been in love, but I do love my family and friends. That is a totally different kind of love, but I'm assuming that you can't say that you love someone until you're engaged and about to be married, but as the world is today.. even that doesn't mean you love someone- if you end up getting a divorce or whatnot. I guess when you're in love, you'll know it, but I'm sure a few poems about love could try to help explain how one feels when they are in love:

15/f. i've read over a lot of your answers and i like how you are honest, so i decided to ask you about my little problem. i like this guy named mike, and we are good friends. we hang out a lot & talk on aim and everything. now i'm not a clingy person and i'm not obvious about who i like, so as far as i know, he has no idea. the only problem is that he has a gf who goes to a different school and she hates me! i've never even met her and she already hates me!

it all started when this girl in my school told mike's gf that i was "all over him" at a field trip at school. which i wasn't and mike even told his gf that i wasn't.

now the other day one of mike's gf's friends IMed me about mike! she was asking me like if we hang out a lot, if i liked him, and why he lies to his gf and stuff.

i just don't know what to do! i really like mike, but i don't want to get in the way of him & his gf since we are friends and i want him to be happy.

If you want what is best for Mike, and you want him to be happy, I can honestly say [because you said you like my honesty =)] that it would be advantageous to just take a step back from him, and just let him and his girlfriend be for awhile. This serves two purposes:
1. You don't seem like you're all over Mike, and people won't think that you've got a thing for him.
2. You'll give Mike a chance to be with his girlfriend, and maybe see that he doesn't like his girlfriend as much as he thought he did. Heck, he might even realize he likes you.

BUT! Don't completely ignore and neglect Mike. Just spend a little less time with him than normal.

Well one of my friends is a good friend but shes kind of new. Anyways theres a guy in our class that shes friends with but they both like each other. Well this guy asked her if she wanted to drink with him. She told me about this and I dont know what to say! I don't want to be like NO YOU'LL RUIN YOUR LIFE AND ILL HATE YOU. well idk i just dont want her to not like me anymore!! pleeease help %%thanks!

Tell her that its her decision, ultimately, but tell her that you don't want her to drink, as it very well could lead to an addiction, and then it could ruin her life. Plus, she's underage, and its illegal. She could get in a lot of trouble.

Shots tend to be given in your arm, i.e. the skin below your shoulder.
As for how often, I think its every 2 years.. not sure..
