It's indescribable. You'll know when you're in love, because you won't be able to describe the feeling yourself.

This has been a question before, so I'll just copy my answer from there.
I can't say that I've been in love, but I do love my family and friends. That is a totally different kind of love, but I'm assuming that you can't say that you love someone until you're engaged and about to be married, but as the world is today.. even that doesn't mean you love someone- if you end up getting a divorce or whatnot. I guess when you're in love, you'll know it, but I'm sure a few poems about love could try to help explain how one feels when they are in love:

A Special World

A special world for you and me
A special bond one cannot see
It wraps us up in its cocoon
And holds us fiercely in its womb.

Its fingers spread like fine spun gold
Gently nestling us to the fold
Like silken thread it holds us fast
Bonds like this are meant to last.

And though at times a thread may break
A new one forms in its wake
To bind us closer and keep us strong
In a special world, where we belong.

- Sheelagh Lennon -

OR

If I could have just one wish,
I would wish to wake up everyday
to the sound of your breath on my neck,
the warmth of your lips on my cheek,
the touch of your fingers on my skin,
and the feel of your heart beating with mine...
Knowing that I could never find that feeling
with anyone other than you.

- Courtney Kuchta -

I hope those help explain the feelings of love. But you have to understand that this is a VERY tough question.

Hey, well to most people to be loved is one of the best feelings in the world. You may think that your in love at a point, but if you question it AT ALL, your not. Love is not a maybe thing, you know when you love someone. The feeling of love is actually extremely hard to describe. Just know that its a wonderful thing and that when the time comes that your in love, trust me, youll know.
