ok i dont know if i am in the right section or not but you know that new shot for girls to stop cervical cancer.. ok does it hurt? im gettin one for my high school physical tomorrow and im so scared.
Okay, my first shot was in and out quickly. It depends on each person the reaction will be. If you watch the comerical carefully, it tells side effects. My side effect was pain near the injection. It didn't last long and was only a few hours. After that, your moving and everything is fine.
My second time, it was the nurse who didn't do it right. It didn't hurt as bad as last time.
It just depends on the person to determine the side effects. My friend got one and she didn't have any pain. My sister got it and she had a little pain also. Hope I helped! [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]

The first time I got it I also had the menengitis shot that day. So I wasn't sure which was which, one hurt for a little bit, the other didn't.
The second time I got it I tensed up which made it hurt. (I'm afraid of needles and didn't have anyone to distract me so I was focusing on it).
If you've done fine with shots in the past then it won't be a big deal.
Just don't focus on it. If you tense up it will hurt. Afterwords do arm circles to relax it some more. That helped me the second time when it hurt and the pain was gone after a few minutes. Normally you're supposed to wait 15 minutes afterwords to make sure you don't have a reaction to the shot (such as an allergic reaction or something). Because I didn't react the 1st time in a negative way they let me leave. I'm not sure if they'll make you wait or not.

Good luck, and don't worry.. the shot is over in a few seconds.
