i had a blackhead/pimple on the crease of my nose, like in the little dent/dip where my nose touches my face. anyways i picked at it and now it's become a scab, but it's big and ugly, should i pick it to make the scab go away? or not. and what can i do to make it go away without making it worse?

You have 4 things to choose from.
1) Wait a few days and leave it and allow it to fall off given time.
2) Be impatient and pull it off. However, this may result in another scab forming so is it worth the risk?
3) Attempt to cover up the scab with makeup.
4) (my favourite) soak the scab with hot water (not boiling!) about twice a day to gently lift it without irritating it and pulling it off causing it to bleed.

Numbers 2,3 and 4 seem wise ;]

Okay, I have a family friends christmas party to go to. Its supposed to be casual, but still dressed up. Does that mean its okay to wear jeans, a nice top and heels? I dont know how to wear my hair or a good outfit to wear. I dont want to be TOO dressed up or too casual. Whats a good balance?

Your outfit sounds perfect. Jeans are casual and heels and a nice top are dressed up.
As for the hair, I think smooth and sleek would work best because really, with that style, you can't go wrong. If you always have your hair like that, perhaps put half up / half down.
If you put your hair up, it will make you look more sophisticated but will help focus on other things like makeup if you wear any.

Okay, I told you guys how I had this thing for one of my friends. Well, one of my other friends, Laura, who lives down the street from me, tells me today while I'm talking to her on Instant Messenger that she likes me. So I'm over at my house freaking out because I was trying to plan out what I was gonna say to Ashley, the girl I like.
So I tell Laura that I sorta like her a little.
And I could tell she was struggling with her words. This is what we both said:

Laura:Okay... would you ever consider going out?
me: with who?
me: you?
Laura: yes
me: i guess so.. Why?
me: well, that was awkward..
laura: Uh... Meredith
me: uh, meredith what?
Laura: Meredith's helping me with what to say, but, would you go out with me?
Laura: (Sorry, clicked enter too soon..)
me: omg.. I.. I guess.

So, did I do the right thing?
I mean, Laura's been my best friend for a long long LONG time, and our moms are friends, too. I didn't want to make her mad at me, so I said yes. I really do like her, but I'm just not sure if I like her enough to go out with her.
So I have been going out with her for about an hour now. It's 8:50 here in Georgia, so you do the math.

I just want to know if I did the right thing or if I should break up with her and go for Ashley?

Don't date Laura for the sake of not wanting her to be mad at you.
It's not your fault if she's not the girl for you.
If you think you've made a mistake, you need to end it as soon as possible before she gets hurt. It gets harder as time passes by, so don't let it carry on that long.
As for Ashley, sadly, we cannot decide for you!
Does Ashley have feelings for you? Would you be happier overall if you were dating Ashley?
You said yourself you do like Laura.
If I were you, I would give it a few days and see if you feel the same. If you question it still and long for Ashley, end it. But if you don't try with Laura, you may never know if any good can come of it.

I agree with the columnist underneath. More and more girls are posting pictures of themselves. I guess it's a way of reassuring themselves and wanting to know the view of other people other than their friends.
Getting to the point, most people are self conscious. They never focus on their good points. Just the bad. Truth is, not many people notice the bad parts. and if they do, proves they're shallow and not willing to know the person inside :)
You have gorgeous eyes, nice smile, and lovely hair. All 3 stick out the most.

If you're preventing pregnancy by only using a condom and not birth control such as pills etc, DO NOT USE VASELINE AS LUBE.
It's oil based, and can damage the condom causing it to rip.

Well there's not alot you can do at the moment if it's still quite short, but there are ways to make it more feminine :)
How about accessories? Find some cute hair clips/head band which would go with your outfit.
If it's long enough, brush it down and sweep in a fringe.
Thought about temporary hair extensions? Or clip in ones? They're alot cheaper than permanent ones which would be weaved into your hair.
You could always ask a hairdresser, too. They would be happy to help!

CAn someone pleeeeeeeeeeeease tell me some dangers to getting your nose peicred and some good things bout it

I have one. The only bad thing is if you're unlucky enough to get a friction bump. Which most people do anyway. and I still have mine! Basically, it can be caused through moving it around too much, banging it, cleaning it quite hard etc within the first 2 months of having it pierced. It's a bump which looks like it has a white head on top.. but you should NOT pop it. Just soaking it with hot water a few times a day will do the trick. It's a pain yes, but it will be gone soon.
If you're thinking about having it done, I say go for it :)

right i have £200 for a new phone i dont know what to get i mainly use my phone for music but i use the camera aswell plus i need a good cheap network it has to be pay as you go i cant stand contract any advice would be great thanks:)

I find ORANGE is the best network. and they give you freebies too (txts, call time, cheap cinema tickets etc etc) and as for a phone which would be used for music, I have a sony ericsson k750i. It fits many tracks on there and with the memory card included with the phone, you can have even more space for your music! It also has a 2 mega pixel camera, so the photographs come out pretty good!
There are now newer versions of this phone, such as the cybershot. That one has an even better quality camera and you can still get all your much needed music on there :)

my eye has been hurting for the last few days. Atfirst it felt like there was something in it, like an eyelash, but that feeling went away quickly. It's been red and it hurts to blink, everytime i do i feel a sudden headache on that side of my head. Also it's become swollen, so my eyelid is like twice the size as my other one! could i have popped a blood vessel, and what else could have caused it to feel like this? should i go to the doctor? and what can i do to make it feel better.

It could be a number of things, ranging from infections to foreign bodies trapped in your eye.. but without physically seeing your eye, it's impossible to tell. Go to an optician or see your GP for an accurate diagnosis.

I stumbled across this site by accident. I seriously doubt many of you have the qualifications to give real people proper advice. After reading some of your responses to people's inquiries i was quite astonished as to how teenagers find they are able to give quality advice and information to real people in need with such little life experience. If you ask me you are not in a place to give your "personal opinion" when people truly believe you are giving them the right answer simply because you claim "people think i give really good advice". (eg. i am still at a loss as to how a 17 year old girl thinks she can give advice to someone regarding conceiving a child) I know you try to come across as a "godsend" to poeple who are in some sort of personal crisis and need a fast easy answer but the truth is, in the cases where it really counts, there rarely is one; at least not from you.

We answer questions we know we can answer. If we've been through something similar, what harm is there in giving advice?
99% of the questions on here don't need ANY qualifications to answer. It's common sense, not being lazy and researching, or as I said previously.. if you've been through the same dilemma. In the odd chance there is a serious question needing a serious answer (eg, needing to be hosiptalised) it's obvious and that person gets told straight out to seek help. Not from the young advice givers on the site. But from the OWNERS.
and it does help. Infact, a huge amount.
Look at the feedback from the people we have helped to give you an idea.
If you aren't a fan of advicenators, simply don't visit this site any more. and keep YOUR "personal opinion" to yourself and don't bother wasting any of our time.

k so my gf and i were jumping off of our roof on 2 our tramp (imature i know) so she jumps and lands then her shirt flew up giving me a full view of her tits she does not know this but i wish she would where a bra 2 avoid this situation again but i dont know how 2 tell her i mean she is 13 for gods sake.

I'm a girl and whenever I shave "down there" my skin is really rough. I use Skintamate (Sp?) shaving cream and I do it in the shower.

Are there any ways to get a more smooth shave with less bumps and roughness?

Most people shave against the hair to get a closer shave.
Always make sure to use a new sharp razor.
Sadly, no matter what, you will most probably always get the bumps.
Might sound odd, but use conditioner to shave with :) some people swear by it!

Not too much of course. and I don't really mind where. I don't like TOO many piercings on the face.

I smoke pot, and cigeretes and today he asked why my jaket smelled like smoke, my friends arent on aim (litteraly no one) so i want to know if i should keep lieing of if i should hold my balls and tell him i smoke. PLEASE HELP!

He's testing you to see if you will tell the truth. You can't keep hiding it. Tell tale signs will soon show.. and the smell obviously already has!

Only yesterday I saw a mother giving her 12 year old child cigarettes so they could smoke together. The feedback they were getting from people around them was what you would expect. (bad)
No fit mother would give their barely teenage daughter something which would damage them.

Once you're over the age limit, it's up to you. You know the risks and it's your body.

I'm assuming you're young and your father is giving you the benefit of the doubt.

Basically, you can get help and stop if you're addicted.

I've done those online calculators and they say i am, but you can't really trust those things because they don't take in to consideration a lot of important factors, you know. 15/f. okay this might seem weird but it is really bothering me. well i'm missing a tooth right next to my front teeth because an adult tooth was never there. i currently have braces and my orthodontist attached a fake tooth onto my braces to fill the gap. the fake tooth looks fine but here is my problem. i'm getting my braces off on December 28, and my orthodontist told me that they will attached the fake tooth that was on my braces onto my retainer. that is great for school and add but what happens at lunch? i'm going to have to take my retainer out to eat and then i won't have a tooth there! it looks so stupid and weird without the tooth! what can i do?

i'm going to get a permanent fake tooth at the oral surgeon put in but i can't get that done until i'm 16 and i'm only 15. so i'm going to have to live with just a tooth attached to my retainer for a couple of monthes.

i'm so stressed out about this! thanks for any advice.

Your friends should understand if you really want to take it out.
Taking retainers out isn't necessarry. Infact, it's best to keep it in when eating, but advised to clean it after if needed.
But of course if you're eating/biting something which could damage it (apples etc) then i suggest you don't take those foods to school with you.
Just think in a few months time, you'll haave perfect teeth :)
