What would the area of a triangle be if a=30 ft. and b=25 ft.?

Well- you take your triangle equation, and plug the values into it.

The equation to find the area of a triangle is 1/2BxH.

Your base is 30ft. Your height is 25ft.

So 1/2 of 30... then multiply that by 25. And that is your answer.

Make sure your answer is in ft.^2.

What is a good way to practice spanish? Like, I know the basic words and things like that, but how can I learn how to speak it? For example, someone had suggested watching spanish soap operas.

Hey- I'm going into Spanish 3 this school year. I love it, ehh- Perdon, me encanta el espanol!


I would say I'm pretty good at it- so I'll just tell you what I do:

-Make flashcards with words or phrases you know or want to learn. Just continually reading them. Go through them once, and as you go- separate what you know already and what you DON'T know into piles. Then go back through the Don't Know pile, until you can do it once through without stopping or looking. Then go through all of them over once more. This actually helps, sure its tedious, but its worth it.

-Watch Spanish movies, videos, TV shows, etc. I actually do this- sure.. they speak SUPER fast- but sometimes you start to pick up words and stuff. Search on YouTube for spanish videos or something- you'll find something.

-A big part of learning a language, especially Spanish is to learn verbs and their conjugations. If you know verbs, you can start to form simple sentences. Maybe conjugate verbs on a piece of paper, then in your head, and do the same with your flashcards- until you know all of them.

-If you have a foreign exchange student from Spain or a Spanish-speaking country, try to hang out with them. Talking face-to-face with someone who speaks it will help you correct errors, and see what a Spanish-speaker does.

What do guys look for in a girl? Not only personality but also appearances? from how long their nails are all the way to the color of their hair. I want to know what is attractive to YOU in a girl!

The best way to attract a guy is to be yourself. If you try to change yourself just to get a boyfriend [especially at your age]- you'll just end up with someone who only likes you for what you've become- not who you are. If you be yourself- and don't change- you'll attract more guys who actually care about your personality rather than just your looks.

I myself like any type of girl. I honestly don't judge looks as much as I do personality. If a girl is absolutely stunningly beautiful, but she's a bitch- why would I like her? What would our relationship be? What would we talk about? Her latest hair extensions? Yeah- that would be REALLY nice *Sarcasm: Party of one!*...
If a girl has a really nice personality- and she's really outgoing and sweet and nice and smart- and she's not necessarily the best looking girl- but she's not super unattractive- then I'll most likely want to date her over the beautiful bitch.

Do you get what I'm saying? If you let guys see your personality more than your looks- you'll end up with someone great. Trust me- most guys prefer personality over looks- they just don't know it yet =].


What I personally like concerning looks:

when writing the title for a TV show, do you underline it or put quotes around it?

You would put quotes around it.

Mostly, only books are underlined- TV shows, chapters, episodes, etc, should be quoted.

I just put up my picture on my profile page.
When i check my advice column thoroughout the day, sometimes my picture would show and sometimes it wouldnt. It would only show a little white box and an x on it.
What is happening?

Sometimes the picture doesn't load if the size is too big. Try resizing it in paint [to about 80% for both horizontal and vertical]- and then loading it up on www.tinypic.com and then taking the URL and pasting it in the "URL of a picture of you:" box on the "Profile Settings" page.

If it continues- maybe find another picture.

I used to know this guy who I had a huge crush on back in 6th grade. Well, I always thought one day I would tell him how i felt...that is until he changed schools. Eventually i forgot about him until one day i found him on myspace, and that was it. This time I wouldnt be shy and I would actually talk to him. It turned out he lived near my high school and i thought how everything was falling into place...until i found out about his crazy girlfriend. She has his passwords to aim and myspace and started to say stuff about me just because he asked if i wanted to hang out sometime.Eventually the problem was fixed and i went on vaction and forgot about it. When i got back i found that i was blocked from his myspace and he didnt seem to be on aim anymore so i figured i was blocked from that too. Im thinking the gf did this because unless i did something im unaware of it doesnt seem like him to just randomly do it. Therefore my questiion is should i pursue the matter to figure out whats going on, or just stop trying? Sry that this so long. Im a little complicated =/

I think you should definitely try to find out what is going on. Maybe you're right that its his girlfriend- or maybe something else is going down [sorry- always wanted to say that =P].

Maybe since he lives really close- ask him to hang out [do you have his number or something?] at his house. Ask him what's up- I bet its his girlfriend, but it very well could be something else- as there are two kinds of guys:

1. Guys who are upfront and honest about how they are feeling.

2. Guys that are secretive and if something is wrong- you probably won't know.


So I suggest that you try to figure out what's happening.

I really don't ask questions on this site, but this is an exception.
But anyways, onto my question...

So, I have this really good friend guy friend, and that's all I see him as, a really good friend. My best guy friend, actually. But today, I was told that he really really likes me as more than a friend. But that's the problem, I only see him as a friend. He dosen't know I know he likes me, but I think he's going to figure it out.

The other problem with this situation is, that we were talking about who we like and I was going on about the kid that I really do like as more than a friend. And the person who told me he likes me, also told me that it hurt him.

So now I'm stuck because:
A. My best guy friend wants more and I don't.
and
B. I feel terrible for going on about my crush, because it really hurt my friend.

Ugh, I just don't know what to do. Should I tell him I don't like him as more than a friend, or just let it pass or what?

Hey- first I want to apologize for the time its taken me to respond to this =/. I've been preoccupied with things- and its been tough to answer questions.

A. If you don't want to go out with someone or have a relationship with them- you DON'T have to. Trust me, I've been on the other end of this situation- and my best friend didn't like me like that- and all I could do was accept it. What more COULD I do? I couldn't MAKE her like me- so it ended up that we didn't talk for 3 months. =/ Yeah I know- torture.. but I couldn't do much. Eventually things healed. Maybe this is how it will end up between you two, but let's hope not; fingers crossed!
Don't feel guilty or anything because you don't feel the same.

B. Well you obviously didn't know he liked you, so you didn't know this was hurting him. Really, you can't be held responsible for how he feels. If he asked you about who you liked [usually a sign that he likes you- just for future reference =D] and you were answering- well then don't feel guilty. In fact, even if it was you that brought it up, don't feel terrible. I know that sounds mean, and you would probably expect someone who was in your friend's situation to say otherwise, but I realized that you can't be selfish when you're on this side of it.


I think you should definitely tell him that you don't like him as more than a friend- but don't just come out and say it- maybe wait until he tells you- that way you know for sure. But- if you want to let him know- then don't be afraid to tell him so- you can't help that you don't like him. People don't just DECIDE to like and not like people- its just naturally how you feel.


All in all, don't feel guilty, terrible or anything, no matter how rude or terrible that sounds.

alright, so if a guy gets raped, and the woman gets pregnant, does the guy have to pay child support for the kid?

I'm going to say no, he wouldn't have to. He was raped, meaning it wasn't consensual [both parties agreed]- and therefore- all the blame is placed on the raper, not the raped.

And even if the guy had to- he probably would want anything to do with the baby.


Plus, the type of girls that go out and rape guys and get pregnant probably are the ones who resort to abortion =/.

ok well my bf and i have been going out for 10 or 11 months. we dont hold hands (only have once), we barely ever kiss and when we do its a peck on the lips, and we do hug alot, he doesnt really tell me how much he loves me, and im kinda tired waiting for him to make a move, beacuse im afraid to! i dont know what to do! i love him, but im afraid of making any move, kissing him, holding hands, ect.

what should i do??? im a bit upset b/c he acts like a kid most of the time (b/c of his younger siblings) and he made fun of alot b/c hes chubby (b/c he had a type of cancer, and the chemo made him gain weight)

Maybe having cancer has made him re-evaluate things. So normally he would have made a move months ago- but maybe he's just lost self-confidence. He might not know how you'll react to him making the first move. He's in a time of his life where things take time and careful consideration. He may not have his life straight- so his feelings for you might not come off right. I would hope you would understand this =D. If it really gets to be a problem- and you feel like you need more from him- all you have left to do is either make the first move or talk to him and ask him if he's doing all right. Guys are already confusing at this age- so maybe he doesn't realize you are wanting more. But if he wants to take it slow and remain at your current speed- you have to respect that.


Oh- and if you decide to make the first move- just think about what you're going to do- and just do it. Don't think at all about what he'll think. Doing that will just lead to doubt. Maybe he wants YOU to make the first move. He's your boyfriend- so don't feel embarrassed to grab for his hand, kiss him longer, etc. Just have the best thoughts in mind- and you'll be fine.

It's long, but yeah.

So, I met this guy.
He's been my friend for about, two days now. We work at the same place, and I just decided randomly to talk to him & he gave me his screename/number. Already, though, we agree on absolutely everything, and have so much in common it's unbelievable [even down to the fact that neither of us like milk in our cereal]. I've talked to him so much the past few days. It's like, he's my twin or something, but two years older than me.

So I was wondering what you think..
Do you think he's a bit TOO much like me? I mean, I don't wanna get sick of him, but do you think that could happen?

I don't know. I've never met someone like this. But he's wicked awesome & I like it how we get along so well. I keep really wanting to talk to HIM, rather than to people i've known for years.

Oh, and another thing.. He's moving soon. Like, not too far away, but far enough where he's quitting the job & I won't be able to see him. I don't usually hang out with people, so I dunno. :\ think that makes any difference?

Maybe him being a lot like you [down to the not liking milk in cereal] is a sign that you're meant to be together? I think that you could get sick of him- but that's unlikely.


I think you should make an effort to hang out with him before he moves. And maybe you can see each other after he's moved. Who knows- it may be the best thing you do!


I think its worth it to hang out with this guy and continue a friendship.

Hey. I am going to tell you about my wonderful camera I got for this past Christmas.

It does everything you want:
-Takes pictures
-Takes videos
-Has many different picture settings
-I have rechargeable batteries.. they were kind of on the pricey side, but they are definitely worth it.. you don't have to go out and buy new batteries every time they die.
-The only problem is.. it is about $100 over your price range. Unfortunately.. you won't get too great of quality for under $150. But.. at the bottom of the page I give below- it has a certain website where it looks like you can find it at $119.99. That would probably be your best bet.

This camera has 5.0 megapixels, 4X Optical Zoom [You want optical zoom, not digital zoom- because digital screws up the pixels as you zoom and the picture looks really crappy], it has 18 different shooting modes, and if you have a larger memory card [I have 2GB] you can hold a lot of pictures/videos.

Now for my own review..
I love this camera a lot and it is a great investment. I take tons of pictures and videos.. and it is perfect for me. The picture quality is the best I've seen in many different digital cameras. My brother has one, and the pictures always come out having odd white spots on them. This camera doesn't do that, ever. I think you will love it.

It is an idiot's way of saying "Same thing"- as "same difference" is a sort-of double negative. It cancels out- and its never really made sense to me when people say it.. I've always said "Same thing".

Okay.. Im not having a baby and im not planning on having one im just wondering who belives in abortion. I've asked and people have said it *depend* well then what makes it right and what makes it murder? Like if you were raped.. or something in general **forced** in my opinion makes abortion look like a way out which should be tooken. But if the girl runs around fucking anything and just doesn't want a baby that makes it wrongg...

I am very Conservative Catholic- and therefore believe that abortion in any rhyme or reason is WRONG. WRONG! Whether they are raped or they intentionally get pregnant- they shouldn't get an abortion. Even if they are 12. I'm sorry- but its murder at any rate- and I don't think its right to kill a growing baby. Who knows- they could have been the one to find the cure for cancer, been the first person to Mars, etc. etc.

I am certainly not suggesting that if you are 12 and you get raped you have to keep and care for the baby. There is always adoption. There are many couples out there who are infertile- and can't have children. They would LOVE to adopt a child- and they are probably some of the most worthy people to have the child. No one says that you have to keep the baby- it should still be born and have a chance to live a life.

my parents are giving me the opportunity to take music lessons. my options are guitar (acoustic or electric) or piano. the thing about piano is i took lessons from when i was 7-11. and my brother is studying to be a piano teacher in college, and he really wants me to take piano. when he comes home on the weekends, he gives me random ben folds songs or classical pieces to play. then the next weekend, he expects me to have them memorized.. i don't want to let him down so i try to work on them. so i'm decent at the piano, but i REALLY want to play the guitar. so i'm in between.

Hey! My sister recently started playing the acoustic guitar. She LOVES it. She hasn't had lessons- but I think if she did- she would love it even more.

I think since you've already taken piano lessons and your brother is able to teach you- you should take the guitar lessons. Its new and different for you- and it wouldn't be a waste of your parents money- especially if you can get free lessons from your brother.

If you want to take the guitar lessons- its your choice. Don't take piano lessons just to make your brother happy. Sometimes you need to make yourself happy!

next summer i have to get a job, and i was just wondering what kind of jobs (real ones) 15 year olds can typically get. not like babysitting or anything like that. a real job. i was thinking dunkin donuts, or an ice cream place or something like that, but if i had to have a resume, what would i put on it? i've never babysat before because my sister's always been the babysitter and i'm shy so i don't wanna like go up to people and ask.. idk like what should i do?

McDonalds hires at 15. Sure- you would get less hours- but they do hire at 15. And so does Wendy's and most fast food places.
