Okay.. Im not having a baby and im not planning on having one im just wondering who belives in abortion. I've asked and people have said it *depend* well then what makes it right and what makes it murder? Like if you were raped.. or something in general **forced** in my opinion makes abortion look like a way out which should be tooken. But if the girl runs around fucking anything and just doesn't want a baby that makes it wrongg...
So im just wondering what your opinion is on it.
I'm against third-trimester abortions. I think that once the fetus has developed to the point where it could survive in the world, it shouldn't be aborted unless it will cause serious harm to the mother.
I also don't think that abortion should be used as a form of birth control; too many women have unprotected sex, and use abortions to 'fix things'.
MAK answered Thursday August 9 2007, 12:26 am: I believe that abortion is the right thing to do only under these circumstances:
1) The mother cannot have the child due to health issues:
a. It is 100% positive that she will pass on some disease or genetic mutation that will be very detrimental to the child causing it to die or be unhappy
b. The mother will die during pregnancy, for example she has a tube fetus (I forgot what they're called, but it's when the fetus starts to develop in the ovarian tubes instead of in the uterus)
2) She got pregnant at a very young age:
a. Her body cannot sustain herself and the baby
b. She cannot continue her studies (school) while pregnant, but this only is a valid reason if she was raped.
In my opinion you have to have a very good reason to get an abortion. If someone can't raise a child adoption is always an option. [ MAK's advice column | Ask MAK A Question ]
ohhsnapp05 answered Thursday August 9 2007, 12:06 am: welp im gonna be the odd one out on this one, i honestly dont think abortion is wrong because accidents happen ppl get pregunat and they need some kindof of and option besides having the baby, i mean its not born yet they kill it before it has been.
puttting it up for adoption has to be total hell for the poor kids going from foster home to foster home never really having a real family, some even wishing they would rather be deadd..
i dont think theres anything wrong with it, if the baby was born then they like killed it then i would agree with everyone else and say yes. it is murder. its wrong. but they terminate the pregnacy before it gets to far into it [ ohhsnapp05's advice column | Ask ohhsnapp05 A Question ]
advicer answered Thursday August 9 2007, 12:05 am: I'm strongly agaisnt abortions, not matter what the circumstances are. If you have an abortion, you're killing someone. If you shoot someone and kill them, you go to prison. If you kill a baby, who hasn't even had a chance at life outside the womb, nothing happens? That just isn't right. If you don't want a baby, stop sleeping around. Its that simple.
If you were raped, I'm still against it. I've actually debated abou this one though. But, I'm still against it. I know you didn't mean to have the kid, and it wasn't your fault, but you're still killing a person.
There's always adoption. Tons of families out there want kids, but can't have any. Or, like I said before, simply don't have sex, unless you're ready to bring a child into this world.
The only reason I'd even consider abortion to not be completely wrong was if the mother's life is in danger. If an abortion was the only way the save the mother's life, then I'm for it. But that is the ONLY situation I'd be for it. [ advicer's advice column | Ask advicer A Question ]
Cux answered Wednesday August 8 2007, 10:50 pm: Hello.
I am very Conservative Catholic- and therefore believe that abortion in any rhyme or reason is WRONG. WRONG! Whether they are raped or they intentionally get pregnant- they shouldn't get an abortion. Even if they are 12. I'm sorry- but its murder at any rate- and I don't think its right to kill a growing baby. Who knows- they could have been the one to find the cure for cancer, been the first person to Mars, etc. etc.
I am certainly not suggesting that if you are 12 and you get raped you have to keep and care for the baby. There is always adoption. There are many couples out there who are infertile- and can't have children. They would LOVE to adopt a child- and they are probably some of the most worthy people to have the child. No one says that you have to keep the baby- it should still be born and have a chance to live a life.
I have a great quote:
"I notice that all the people who are against abortion are already born" -Ronald Reagan
This is just about my favorite quote because there are so many pro-choicers out there that are ALIVE- and would be totally against themselves being aborted. Isn't that a kicker?
Erinn_the_bamf answered Wednesday August 8 2007, 10:38 pm: There are only two circumstances in which I find abortion exceptable: rape or if the mother's life is at risk.
Rape- (n).the unlawful compelling of a woman through physical force or duress to have sexual intercourse.
(v). to force to have sexual intercourse
And though the dictionary definition doesn't include it, one of the worst things that can possibly happen to a woman. Reading stories about rape literally give me the chills sometimes. Imagine the highest display of affection be forced upon you. Almost automatically, you are mentally unstable. And to add a pregnancy ontop of that? Horrid. The girl obviously did not want to get raped, so the pregnancy is not her fault. Furthermore, the man could have all sorts of STDs and diseases that would now be passed down to her baby.
Now for the mother's life in danger.
Obviously, if you have sex at age 12, you are one gigantic assfuck. That may be rude an judgemental, but seriously, it's stupid. Espically because most 12 year olds cannot handle birth if they should get pregnant. They simply aren't strong enough. Moreover, there are many other circumstances in which the mother would not survive labor. And in many cases, when the mother doesn't survive, the child doesn't either. Therefore, an abortion would be saving at least one life. [ Erinn_the_bamf's advice column | Ask Erinn_the_bamf A Question ]
LOL_x0x answered Wednesday August 8 2007, 8:54 pm: My opinion on abortion will never change. I feel, it is wrong. Very wrong. It's taking away an innocent life before it even gets the chance. You never know, that baby could've changed the world.
That baby could've made an impact, it could've done something. But no, it's life is cut short, because somebody thinks they made a mistake. Because somebody thinks it's the easy way out, when it's really anything but. It's the coward's way out. It's the mother killing their own child's way out.
The ONLY exception, is if you got raped. I mean, if you're 14 and get raped by a neighbor or at a party, that wasn't your choice, it wasn't your fault. Though I still think it's wrong, it's the only way that I would'nt despise the person who decides to abort their baby.
But if you sleep around and get pregnant on accident, that's your fault. It was your choice to sleep with the person/people you did. You made your bed, now lay in it.
All in all, I'm basically against it, with very few exceptions. There are other options, adoption, for instance, ya know? =]
I hope I didn't offend you or anybody on this site. *Sorry if I did.
blackluna7111 answered Wednesday August 8 2007, 8:51 pm: in my opinion abortion is wrong any way you put it
if youve been raped and dont want the baby abortion isnt a way out. put the baby up for adoption. if you abort it your still killing. i recommend to just put it up for adoption and if youre around having sex with any guy and end up pregnant but dont want a abby and abort it, you belong in jail. becuase you killing soemone theres always another way out instead of killing a baby that has nothing to do with your problem. i dont know if you understand what im trying to say. im totally against it. it isnt right youre killing a human being.
