It is an idiot's way of saying "Same thing"- as "same difference" is a sort-of double negative. It cancels out- and its never really made sense to me when people say it.. I've always said "Same thing".

its just another retarded saying, it just means things that are 'different' ignore the same part.
They got that saying from the saying same thing.
Example:
Girl 1:My gorilla is pink
Girl 2:no your gorilla is red
girl 1:same thing
Girl 2:same difference you mean
