Q: My husband and I's one year anniversary is coming up in a few months, and so is a very close friend's wedding, her wedding date: our one year anniversary. I'm at a loss of what to do. My husband wouldn't be able to come with me to her wedding, and my friend would be extremely hurt if I didn't go. What makes the situation awkward is I knew when picking my wedding date that my friend would be getting married that same day. I had no choice however (my husband is military). I reassured and promised her since she got engaged that I would be there at her wedding. In fact, as soon as I got the wedding invite, I texted her and let her know I would be there and how excited I was. My husband always knew I'd be going, but I guess it just clicked for him I'd be missing or first anniversary. He's very upset, anniversaries are very important to him. I tried reasoning with him that we could celebrate another day, but he's not having it. What do I do? I will always pick my husband over anything, but shouldn't he be more understanding? Should I be present for the most important day of my close friend's life and hurt my husband? Or be there with my husband for our one year anniversary and risk losing my friend? (And I have very few true good friends)

It takes two to tango in a marriage and he is completely missing the compromising part of it! Just like birthdays, he cannot expect to be able to celebrate things on the exact same day every year.
You should calmly tell this to him and reinforce that you love him, but he won't always get what he wants. And attend the wedding, with him or not. I'm not sure how long you guys have known each other but you have to go with your gut and think who have you known longer, and who will really be there for you: someone who's been a very good friend, or someone who is ready to ruin a relationship over not celebrating something that happens yearly.

Q: So, I am about to have a baby and someone mentioned that there are a bunch of places that will send you baby stuff in your mailbox if you just ask for it? How do you do this? Is there a list of companies that do this, or do you just have to write everyone and hope they send you something? LOL!

If you type baby samples onto Google, there are direct links to some giveaways. Specifically freebies.about.com is a good one.
Bargainmom.net is a good site that you can constantly go visit or enter your email address to get emailed whenever they post something do you don't gave to revisit the site.
This site is useful as well https://www.facebook.com/PMChat

Q: So, I'm a 14 year old girl and I honestly can't cope with the way my parents tell me to live, I feel like I am trapped in my home and I can't do anything!
They have these rules that I cannot go on my iPad/phone until 8pm every night, even at weekends I'm not aloud to use them. They say I'm to antisocial and I need to get out more, I go almost everywhere with them! I do go to town with friends aswell. They won't let me out of my town, I live in Barnstaple, devon and I'm not even aloud to Exeter or Bristol to go on a shopping trip with friends which is only about 2 hours away. Also I'm not aloud to be friends with a few people I know, one of them because there is a rumour going around that her mum is a prostitute and the other one who is my best friend and I still hang out with her secretly because she said something rude on Facebook like 2 years ago! It annoys me how I can't be friends with who I want to be friends with. My parents won't let me go out after school and I always have to be back home at 4pm if I go anywhere, which means I can't go out in the evening or at night and have a laugh :(
They also won't let me use social networks other than Facebook and Twitter, I want to be able to use snapchat, Instagram and tumblr but I'm not aloud to have it on my phone, another thing is that my dad still reads my texts and my messages with friends online!!! I'm 14 and I literally have no privacy! It's really annoying I want to just tell him "no, I won't give you my phone" or just not tell him the lock to my phone but he always makes me! :(
This is really annoying me now how I feel like I am stuck with nothing to do and no privacy at all :(
Anyone know what I could do?

I had super strict parents as well. I hated it but as I got older I learned to appreciate some things because I just see teens these days who are spoiled and have no respect and appreciation for things, and I start having the same thoughts that my parents would probably have!
Do you mean AFTER 8pm? It\'s kind of harsh but people my age have sleeping problems because they cant stop going on their phones when they should be sleeping.
Friends is a hard lesson that your parents will have to deal with. They can control who you can/cant see now, but in the future they will have no control. It\'s going to be your decision who you want to be friends with so just take into consideration of why you wouldn\'t want your future kids to be friends or be friends with someone.
But see I can tell you are doing pretty well. You\'re 14 years old and you have an ipad AND an iPhone. Unlike some students in high school who weren\'t allowed to have ANY social media account, you have two yet you are upset that you don\'t have accounts on all social media.
That\'s just my take because I have been to Africa. Plus being an advicenator on this site I have seen so many sexual activity related questions on this site from girls that are your age (which shouldn\'t be happening but still) so I can see why your parents are uneasy with technology.
SO my answer is quite split. Obviously your parents are thinking for your best interests, but I don\'t want you to turn into some spoiled brat in the future. Just try be happy with the things you have for now and really value your time when you are with your friends.

Q: my heart has been doing weird stuff so i was looking what can be wrong with the heart and it said "coronary artery disease" but i don't know what that means. can some one please explain so a 16 year old can understand?
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Unless you have serious nutritional issues, really unhealthy, are overweight, or have diabetes, at 16 you should not be worrying about a CAD!
Coronary artery disease is like when your bottle of glue or ketchup is almost running out, and you are squeezing the bottle yet there is stick crap sticking on the sides. Pretend your blood vessels are the bottle and the blood full of crap is what is sticking to the sides. The crap can build up, blocking the flow of blood and might eventually block the blood flow to the heart. This causes hypertension problems, possibly a stroke, all in all coronary artery disease.
It is normal to have heart flutters now and then. However if you are really concerned please see a doctor to have it checked, maybe you have a heart condition that has never been diagnosed? Or first try to keep a record of the time of day, activity you are doing, what you recently ate, etc when the weird heart thing happens. Maybe you ate a lot of sugar, or was really stressed out when the thing occurred.

Q: Im 16/f and I do not get the whole fascination with dressing up, lots of makeup, dying hair etc. Like all the girls at my school are starting to wear these pretty dresses and doing their hair and they all look so beautiful..but its like i dont give a shit about any of that. Ive always been decent looking without doing a whole lot so i never really got into fashion or lots of makeup..I would like to tbh. Today i tried doing a smokey eye, and it kinda looked like shit lol. And i also tried looking up skirts and dresses that i could buy and they were all ugly and expensive. And all that stuff seems like a lot of work to keep up looking really nice everyday. I just dont get it, why is it so important? To feel good about yourself, sure but why else? I like looking nice but at the end of the day it doesnt really matter.. i dont wanna spend so much time on something that wont really get me anywhere and idk i just dont get it.

I got one word that answers it all: media.
Some girls might have no money but spend the little they have on their appearance. Just remember that just like those cosmetics and clothes, they're skin deep and matter only skin deep. Some people like that in my high school got screwed over and where they are now, I think they are kicking themselves and thinking of all the things they bought in the past that they could've not buy to have that money today.
80 years from now on your deathbed non of those things will matter.
16 year olds going over the top wearing makeup in school makes me laugh. Who is actually purchasing those? Look at Adriana grande. She is twenty and she still looks 16. While other 16 year olds trying to look like they 26, just not right. Even the shows like gossip girl and 90210 that supposedly stars in high school, you should know that that's the opposite of real high school.
So you are exactly right. Feel proud that you are REAL. You should want to look the best you can, not looking like other people. A certain level of makeup is fine to keep a decent appearance but you don't need like you are going in the red carpet everyday at school - there are better things to focus on. That's how I met my boyfriend :) he stood out from all of those superficial beliefs and had REAL opinions just like you (boyfriends in high school I find were like the cosmetic appeal. Don't rush, it shouldn't matter when you have a boyfriend as long as you are with the right one).
So to finish off, I like the Youtuber called Themakeupchair. She has a separate playlist to organize just her beginners makeup tutorial and they really do justice. And for clothes, SALE SALE SALE! Never but for full price!

Q: Hi, Before using Trigestrel I used to have a 31 day cycle I only used it for a month, I stopped using Trigestrel in February. Last month I had a 26 day cycle (got my period the 7th March) and my period lasted 2 days. I had ovulation spotting on the 20th March but up until today the 10th April I still have no period even though I had all the pms signs, I even had the cramps. I did a pregnancy test and it showed negative. Is this a side effect of leaving Trigestrel?

From personal experience, other factors such as traumatic stress can drastically affect you, possibly delaying or skipping your period.
One pregnancy test cannot be the final say either. They are not 100% correct.
Upon looking up this contraceptive in my drug book, it looks very confusing with certain number of different pills to take for different days.
I am a nursing student and do not specialize in this. I even asked my friend who is a physician and she is not sure herself. Please seek a gyentologist immediately and get an ultrasound to be certain! If you are safe, please discuss with your physician about starting on a more simpler birth control.

Q: I am a Christian and I'm working on being a better one, but I'll be the first person to admit that I'm far from perfect. I have debilitating guilt and shame about my past and even the way I came to Christ, even though that sounds strange now that I'm writing it.
I feel like everyone else has really great, inspiring stories and I have kind of a cowardice one. Long story short, I wanted to come to God for years, but thought that I was too bad to do so. Like God wouldn't want someone like me. I didn't have the courage to find out if that was true or not until I was sick and thought I might be dying soon. When I found out that you can be forgiven for anything, I asked Jesus into my heart. (I'm fine now BTW).
Getting to my problem, my dad will not stop judging me, or my family for that matter. He judges us for missing church and any sins we commit. He'll imply or flat out say that we won't go to Heaven because of certain things that he himself does.
I hope this doesn't sound like I'm being hypocritical and judging him, but he's got problems as well. He talks hatefully to my mom, he does rotten thing to people, he uses filthy language, he lies, he takes our things that don't belong to him and these are the kinds of things he judges us for. He'll come home from church and act this way. I've never habitually done all of these things and I've repented, but when I drop the ball, he's all over me. I'm not saying that my dad's a terrible man or that he's not going to Heaven, but I don't feel that he's in a position to look down his nose at me.
The worst is when he judges me for missing church. I admit that I've been bad about that, but church isn't the only place where I worship God with other Christians. I've heard that you don't have to go to church as long as you worship somewhere. It's not in the Bible. It's not that I don't like church, it's just a long story of why I don't go every single Sunday.
He's confident about his own salvation and that of certain people close to him. He just judges his household. It bothers me that he thinks I might not go to Heaven when he and some of the people close to him are no better than I am. It just plain bothers me that he judges me at all.
One reason I think it bothers me is because it makes me feel like such a loser. It brings back the guilt and shame I mentioned earlier. It also makes me wonder if I'll ever be the Christian I need to be. If my own dad doesn't have confidence in me, how strong of a Christian can I be?
What do you think of this situation?
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
You definitely have a patriarchal family, which means that your dad thinks he's in charge. You are suffering from abuse, definitely the emotional and verbal kind.
Firstly, your dad is one of those Christians that believe that they are simply because they attend church. In the middle ages, church was for those who were uneducated and didn't know how to read, so they would go to church and have someone read and talk to them. Therefore it's about believing in Him and not on attendance. You shouldn't feel bad about not going to church constantly. Many people don't even go to church because there could be people like your dad IN church, and they would rather not deal with that.
As for his judging, the only one he should be worried about is being judged by GOD for his character. "For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you."
I wish I knew your age. If you and your mom wishes to not be assertive to him, as he is quite aggressive it sounds like, my best advice is to attend counseling to let all those things out in a healthy way and not bottle it up - feelings like that can be toxic. Or at least keep my words that I am typing to heart and know that you shouldn't worry about your dad, worry about what God thinks of you, and it's definitely the opposite of what your dad thinks :)

www.dreammoods.com is THE website. I have their app downloaded on my ipad which is really handy because you can still look up things even when there is no internet.
I will paste what certain things in your dreams mean according to the website:
- there is no "mother's boyfriend" so this was the closest I could find.
Stepfather
To see your stepfather in your dream symbolizes authority and protection. Consider also your waking relationship with your stepfather and how aspects of his character may be incorporated within yourself. If you do not have a stepfather in real life, then the dream may represent some unresolved issues and tension with your actual father.
- Bedroom
To dream that you are in the bedroom signifies aspects of yourself that you keep private. It is also indicative of your sexual nature and intimate relations.
To dream of your childhood bedroom indicates that a current situation or feeling has triggered a memory from your childhood that you have kept secret. Alternatively, the dream may be symbolic of a sexual awakening.
- I'm not familiar with weapons. On the site there was pistol, revolver, stun gun, shot gun, and BB gun, but I just chose gun.
Gun
To see a gun in your dream represents aggression, anger, and potential danger. You could be on the defensive about something. Or you may be dealing with issues of passiveness/aggressiveness and authority/dependence. Alternatively, a gun is a symbol of power and pride. Perhaps you are looking for shelter or protection in your dream.
If you dream that a gun fails to fire indicates that you are feeling powerless in some waking situation. Perhaps you need to attack your problems from a different approach. Alternatively, a malfunctioning gun represents sexual impotence or fear of impotence.
To dream that someone is shooting you with a gun suggests that you are experiencing some confrontation in your waking life. You feel victimized in a situation or that you are being targeted. To dream that you shoot a person with a gun denotes your aggressive feeling and hidden anger toward that particular person.
- Shotgun
To see or shoot a shotgun in your dream means that you need to better focus your energies toward your goal.
- Target
To dream that you are shooting at a target indicates that you have your sights clearly set on a goal. The dream may also be trying to motivate you along. If you missed the target, then it symbolizes missed chances, missed opportunities, or missed judgment calls.
- Laughing
To hear laughing or dream that you are laughing suggests that you need to lighten up and let go of your problems. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. Laughing is also a sign of joyous release and pleasure. If you are being laughed at, then it indicates your insecurities and fears of not being accepted.
- Hit
To dream that you hit something or someone is symbolic of unexpressed anger and aggression. You tend to keep your negative feelings inside instead of expressing them in a healthy way.
Well, sounds like you have a lot of resentment towards your mother's boyfriend. Just from my own viewpoint, your dream is saying how you might be jealous that he is taking time away from your mother and that you need to let go of your grudge and focus on something else. Or, be direct and address it with your mother about your feelings so he can either be removed from your lives or understand why him being in your life disturbs you. With the fight recently, maybe you think that he is completely at fault?
Hope this helped!

Please do not! I'm not sure if you are a student from India getting eduction in America but there are counsellors in school that you can talk about your feelings and problems and you can speak to a career counsellor. The career counsellor will help you determine which program is right on you based on your interests and skills.
Many students struggle when they first started school. Hell, when I first started I wanted to quit right away but I stuck with it. Committing suicide will not do anything; it will just cuase more problems. Be proactive and take control of your life. Don't let it take control of YOU. I know you can do it!

Q: My parents are super religious, the kind of Christians who want to spread the word of God to the world, will willingly dedicate their whole life to God, believes in miracles and stuff like that.
The problem is I'm an atheist, so its pretty hard for me to cope with them because they'll be like "Why don't you just pray, you'll get through it" or "don't worry God is there for us"... It's really frustrating, and please don't verbally attack me about these things, I'm trying to get some advice..
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
I wish you put your age in here. If they are SUPER religious, I'd say just keep going along with it until you go to college, move out, etc. and then in the future when your visit your parents and discuss about things, bring it up and tell them that you just don't beleive in God and that if there was really something that proved it, then you'd beleive in it 100%. I wouldn't suggest you telling them that you are ATHEIST or else they might give you the you're going to hell rant.
Personally, I'm of faith. But my boyfriend isn't. His parents are catholic but they don't even go to church anymore. One day the topic of religion came up and he just told them. Obviously they didn't like it but what could they do, they can't make you beleive in something. There's issues here and there such as when he refuses to sign before a meal but it'll ease up with time.

Q: i have a really bad sweating problem,& i wear deodorant all the time, what can i do too prevent it from happening ?
|
|
|
|
|
|

|
Out of like every 10 people, there's always someone who sweats more than others. Like a lot. Its normal. I'm one of them. By the first hour of work, I'll be starting to sweat while no one else doesn't break it until after lunch time!
If you are talking about all-around sweating, make sure that you are eating healthy foods and drinking lots of water. If you already are, guess that means you are one of the tens!
For feet, I've watched Dr. Oz and soaking up your feet in vodka helps with the sweat pores and the odour.
As for your underarms, I think this video will help:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_iee2lbKYU
antiperspirant will help but it depends. If you are talking about sweating when working out, that is natural. As long as it doesn't smell bad, that is all that matters. And if you are up for it in the future, there is a surgery that can remove the sweat gland in your armpit.
Best of luck! I don't know how old you are but it will get better! I do not sweat as much as I used to (underarm-wise).

Q: How can you add more than one song on one powerpoint slide without them overlapping?
How do I get them on one slide and play after everytime I click?
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
On the slide selected, go to Insert.
There should be a Sound icon.
Click on it and click on either Sound from Clip Organizer or since you want to add a song, Sound from File.
And select your song!
If you only want a certain part of your song played, I would suggest you bring it into Windows Movie Maker and then cut it exactly to the part of the audio that you want and save it as a song.
Hope this helped!

Q: I'm 15. And have had my period for 3 years. I do have a boyfriend. we plan on having sex eventually. How do I ask my parents without them freaking out? (Please no lectures on why I shouldnt be having sec. Your not my parents)

Since you said no lectures, I won't preach!
There should be a pregnancy centre of some sort or a woman's clinic that will give you some. Or just book a doctor's appointment on your own and go there on your own time to get them. Its a mature thing to be thinking about the option of birth control before even having sex. Which is what you can tell your parents LATER if you wish to tell them. 15 may be young, but as long as you're protecting yourself, shouldn't really be your parents buisness.

Honestly whenever you want to and you have your period, go for it!
There are those weird relatives out there who beleive that if you wear a tampon than you are no longer a virgin. hey are wrong and so I would avoid talking to a family member and would rather talk to a friend or a friend's friend.
I do not think there is ANYTHING your dad can do you help you with this so I wouldn't even mention it to him.
I would try Kotex-U first. They are real easy to use and I which I tried that brand first. Being an eco-friendly person, I tried to use the cardboard applicaters for 5 months before i gave up. Still can't use them. Using tampons is great because with a pad you always feel like you peed in your pants and you're just sitting and walking around with it still on! Yuck!
I wish you best of luck! And if you don't succeed, try and try again!

You only tell someone if you want to.
There is help! I went to the health clinic that specialized in this. Then there was an hour in the hospital that took care of this (Mental Health - I know everyone hates that word being associated with this. I sure did. I was depressed, not crazy). From there I got what was called crisis counselling.
I didn't think that I could tell a "counsellor" how I felt. I mean, I couldn't even tell anyone for 15 years! But she knew this and there were just different questions that helped you to just talk and start off somewhere.
Eventually everything was let out, I got referred to a psychiatrist for the last important bits that were non-related to counselling. And in a year I was fine again.
I never thought that I could feel better from my depression but I did. Simply because one day I was at the last of my limits and decided to reach out before using suicide as a last resort.
I did not tell anyone about it other than my best friend and became the biggest liar ever; lying to my parents about where I was going because I didn't want them to know that I was going to see my psychiatrist. They are old fashioned and will never understand that this really is a common thing for our times and they are not for "crazy people".
Please seek help and don't worry of contacting me if you need more information. My only regret is that I took so long to get help. I missed so many years of my life.

You are alive because you are not weak like the others that gave up! You may be feeling low right now but you are alive, and whether you know it or not this means that you have some serious inner strength. Use it to feel alive. Make use of your days and do things simply because you can; because you are alive.

Q: If a married woman is cheating with a married man and she hears him tell his wife he loves her and 5 minutes later is having sex with the other woman what does this mean?

It means that he is a horrible person! I'm not married but I want you to think:
- What is wrong with your husband?
- What is it with this married man that is making you go to him?
- Do you have problems with your husband that are unresolvable, or do you truly want to be with the married man?
Think clearly because love is a very important word, and he seems to like throwing the word out like money. If you truly do want to spend the rest of your life with him, do you think it would work out judging by what he is like with his wife right now?

After a two year hiatus I am back! I've been on this site since 2006 and things have changed far more greatly since my bright days in my younger years. I've battled with anxiety and depression and I've gotten through it. My life is merely a survival story itself and now I simply want to help others, being grateful for everything I have and simply because I CAN.
Hello you can call me Hitomi^-^
Being a nurse is my passion so feel free to ask me anything and I will try my best
I'll answer every question personally given to me, if you're serious about it.
I am of faith but will not preach in my answers unless the person who is asking for advice is very obvious of being of faith.
Sometimes it is not about getting through the obstacle, but to stay positive within it. Sometimes you are placed somewhere dark so that you can shine to others even brighter!
