Rental Cars in NYC? Is it possible to get a rental car with 100$ in NYC?

You could take a cab or bus it. A rental car for $100 is unlikely even if you do I doubt it would be a reliable car. Your best option is the subway, cab or bus. ]
I am sure your friends whom you plan to visit would be happy to look into this for you. They may even be able to recommend an agency they have used before. You could also do some research online and perhaps make a few calls to inquire about rates. The rental company will need to get some information from you before they can give you a quote. I hope you have a wonderful vacation in NYC! ]
Yeah, I guess you could, but it really depends on how long you will be staying in NYC. Normally, rentals cost about $20-$30 a day. I suggest you google the prices and if you find a cheap price, reserve the price so when you arrive at the car rental place, things will be a lot easier because rental prices change frequently. Check out Thrifty, Payless, or some other companies. The two companies I listed generally have reasonably affordable prices and they provide newer cars so it should be reliable. ]
Hi there,
Enterprise:

... has a car for under $100. With taxes it is still under $100.
I have used them for many years at locations all over the country, and have only had one bad experience in all those years.
Have a lovely trip!
P.S. I know you want to rent a car... but if you are staying in/around the city the whole time, you are better off taking taxis. The traffic can be intimidating and there are places you do not want to get lost, for your own safety. You also will not believe what it costs to park the car. Parking can cost more than the rental if you make many stops in private lots in the same day. ]
I guess anything is possible but I highly doubt it. You have to have full coverage insurance. Then you have to pay a deposit and rental fee and then for the miles you use. After wards you have to refill with gas. Make sure car us clean. ]
Very doubtful.. NYC is incredibly expensive. Try going through your insurance company (enterprise is a favorite of mine) and see what they can do for you.
Otherwise I recommend using the subway! Enjoy NYC the New Yorker way. Traffic is horrible there anyway. I imagine it is even worse during Labor Day weekend. ]
Enterprise Rent-A-Car can rent you an economy class car(like the Chevy Spark) for a little less than $70 a day. These vehicles are very good on gas, and typically very safe despite their size.
Also, when I've been to NYC, I find it's both easier and safer to just take the subway to the nearest block and walk where you need to go. It's a much faster way through the city, and eliminates the possibility of getting into a car accident. Traffic there can be a bit dangerous.
Good luck, and have fun!

Hello,
Im not from new York i am actually from England but i have done some research and from what I have seen you cannot buy a car for that price, that price is way too low to buy any car what's so ever, maybe try saving more cash to about £500 and you may be able to buy a little run about car. Or get a car on fiance, there are certain dealerships that do this and all you do is choose a car and pay for it monthly and sign a contract to say you will do so. If your in central new York is it worth having a car? Wouldn't it be easier to use the public transport as new York is a very busy place and always has traffic jams ect.
I hope this can help and sorry i couldn't give you anymore useful help than what i have
Thank you

Unfortunately I couldn't tell you as I'm from the UK. Sorry!
I'm sure you could find something online or ask a citizen advice line. ]
Hi there. I would recommend that you check kayak.com for cheap car rentals in NYC. They have prices as low as $25/day depending on the model and size. If you're only staying for the weekend, I'd say that's a good deal. You could also take cabs if you don't feel like renting out your own vehicle. ]
I am not sure where but for a 100$ you should be able to get lemon. Hopefully you don't plain on going to far in it. I don't live in NY so I really wouldn't know anything but everything there cost a lot more. That why I said a lemon ]
I would say it is possible and it also depends where you go to rent a car too.
Here's a link that may help. :)

A $100 won't even cover the deposit. If you’re staying in the city you really do not need a car. Many of the people who live and work in NYC do not own cars as the public transportation system will take just about everywhere they need to go within the city. Plus there are the famous NYC taxicabs for where the transit system does not go. Also public parking is out of this world expensive. ]
