This isn't exactly a "help me" kind of question, but, it is a valed question. I was just wondering, if anyone decides to answer me..."What is happening here?" I have been going through the questions and I am lucky if I see every 4th question have one answer! It used to be every question had at least 5 or 6 answers. Anything happening I should know about? Isn't anyone here anymore? Well, thank you for those of you who do answer.
Orpheus answered Wednesday September 27 2006, 8:38 am: I agree with lauraxomichelle in that many questions on the site don't appear to be worth answering. I try to focus on questions in areas in which I am knowledegable and on questions that I feel need to be answered. I am sure many people on the site grow tired of commonly asked questions, especially those involving teenage relationships. Questions like "OMG!!! does this boy like me?!" become quite annoying after a while. And yes, as many others have said, the start of the academic year is probably a large factor not only in the lower number of answers per question, but in the overall lower number of questions being asked. MummuM answered Tuesday September 26 2006, 9:48 pm: I've noticed that, too. But a lot of people on here are either busy with work or school. That is why not a lot of questions are getting a lot of answers lately. Usually durning the summertime, you see a lot of questions with more than 1 or 2 answers. Also, some of the people that are giving advice can't relate to the question being asked. That could also be a reason why the question doesn't get a lot of advice. orphans answered Tuesday September 26 2006, 7:43 pm: well the first page may not have as many because those are the newer questions. if you look at pages 2, 3 , and 4, they normally have at LEAST 6 questions (normaly) [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
christina answered Tuesday September 26 2006, 7:33 pm: Most of the users & advice columnists are in school, so they hardly ever time to be on here. Also, some of the questions just aren't worth answering. Some people type so rediculous, no one can understand what's going on, so we just don't bother to answer.
karenR answered Tuesday September 26 2006, 5:21 pm: Its slowed down a little now that school has started up. As soon as the new wears off the school year things will pick back up again. A LOT of our users are in school.
Another thing is the same old questions. And like someone said people may be getting smart and answering only those questions they have good knowledge of.
With more questions per page it does make it easier to notice that some questions aren't getting a lot of answers. I don't know that less are being answered...its just more noticeable. :) [ karenR's advice column | Ask karenR A Question ]
thelaura answered Tuesday September 26 2006, 5:14 pm: I've also noticed the change in this website. However, when I check back later on, more answers have been added. I think it's just taking longer for them to be answered now. Not sure why. Maybe because alot of the advicenators are teenagers who are focusing more on schooling more than their internet advice column!
Although there's not AS many answers, they're still great advice. So no worries. [ thelaura's advice column | Ask thelaura A Question ]

MelLeDisko answered Tuesday September 26 2006, 4:42 pm: Yeah, I've been noticing that lately too. I don't think the site is necessairly DYING - just it's not always easy to focus on your own life while trying to help others. Some people get preoccupied with other things, like I took some time off this site myself with my old account cause I was always on here and not talking to my friends sometimes instead. Also, sometimes whenever I scroll through the questions, some of them ask questions that I can't help them out with ; I don't know how to answer it, or I'm just afraid I'm not positive that my advice for that questions good, and of course, you want to give people good advice, right?
