Waza answered Thursday July 20 2006, 4:23 pm: haha yes thats very normal and very common in animals a lot of animals do that when they are ready to mate with another animal.. thats all it is your dog is frisky and wants to mate.. the only way to stop your dog from doing that is just to take the object away but theres really no other way to keep your dog from doing that [ Waza's advice column | Ask Waza A Question ]

abbyxoxo answered Wednesday July 19 2006, 7:28 pm: ok this may sound very awkward but here it is.. your dog is just extremely excited. if hes not fixed then when he odes get fixed then he'll probably stop, i have alot of freinds with dogs that do that, hes just a puppy so dont worry about it. you can talk to your vet about it, but theyll probably just laugh and say its normal..
This may sound strange, but it is all about dominance and not sex. He probably won't be sexually mature until around 6 months (considering the two breeds). Although there is controversy about neutering early, most vets that I know will not do the surgery until the pup is 6 months old. This is normal behavior for a dominate puppy, yes. My guess is, he is trying to express that he wishes to be charge. When there is no pack leader in the household, the dog will assume that roll automatically. You should curtail this behavior before it escalates into a more serious pack leader mentality. The link I posted will give you an idea of what I am talking about here. Good luck...and enjoy your puppy! [ Nallie's advice column | Ask Nallie A Question ]

CiNdYLoUwHoO answered Wednesday July 19 2006, 4:00 pm: It's normal. Just tell him to stop whenever he does it, that way he will know he is doing something wrong and it should happen less. Hope this helps.

wretchedmelody answered Wednesday July 19 2006, 1:15 pm: Yep, it's normal. He may..or may not.. grow out of it. I have a Golden Retriever, who is a female, who still does that. Males are probably more prone to doing it though. He might stop eventually. Is he neutered? If he isn't, he may stop when he is neutered. Puppys start to mature sexually about 7 or 8 weeks so yeah, that's pretty normal.
Lucky answered Wednesday July 19 2006, 12:55 pm: lol, yea that's normal. My dog used 2 do it, but now he's old, and he doesnt do it anymore. He might grow out of it tho. [ Lucky's advice column | Ask Lucky A Question ]
orphans answered Wednesday July 19 2006, 12:49 pm: Yes. If it's the same thing, my cat did it. He was like putting his arms all over it and rocking back and fourth. My mom said it's something to do with his mom? They did it when they were babies.. I'm really not sure lol, but it's normal. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
Brandi_S answered Wednesday July 19 2006, 12:41 pm: Yah that's normal. Believe it or not, even female dogs do it!
Alot of the reason dogs hump on things is because that shows empowerment. Meaning, your dog is showing your blanket he's more powerful. I know it sounds weird, but it's true.
If you get him neutered when he's of age to do so, he will probably stop. [ Brandi_S's advice column | Ask Brandi_S A Question ]
brittx33 answered Wednesday July 19 2006, 12:01 pm: yes thats normal. any age for a dog is normal for humping. My chihuahua stopped after he got fixed, but my other one didn't. I guess it just depends on the dog. But, if you see him doing this, I would hit him on his butt, not hard, and tell him no. [ brittx33's advice column | Ask brittx33 A Question ]
