There is a legal age in NY...it's 17. This is considered "The age of consent" in NY or the age when you can have sex with anyone 17 and over. So in reality if you are 17 and your girlfriend or boyfriend is 16 and you have sex...it is statutory rape. Only a girl can be raped, if a girl 17 or over has sex with a guy under 17 it's considered sexual misconduct or sodomy. Very rare to see anyone convicted of this if the age years aren't too far apart, but its techincally the law. The age varies from state to state but I can tell you in NY its definitely 17.

yea there is no age but if you are above 18 adn are haveign sex with some oen under 18 and u get caught it is acounted as rape and you could get charges aganst you only if the person presses charges hope i helped

The LEGAL age is 18 but the legal right so you can say yes I want to have sex is age 16. Some states it's totally different but thats rare if its different.

but lets say if your 15 the person you want to have sex with should atleast be either 15 or 16
no younger and no older.

Theres no really "legal" age. But whats legal is the age DIFFERENCES between the two people.
Ex : Really old guy, with really young girl.
Illegal.
Ex : Close to the same age.
Legal.

There really isnt no legal age in my opinion because evryone does it at different ages. The only thing is someone 18 or older cant have sex with someone 17 or younger because that would be considered rape. But if u having sex with someone thats between 12-17 or 18-25 den its ok.

well in the united states the age of consent is 18, but that varies from state to state. in texas for example it's 17, whereas in connecticut it's 16. but the fact is most court cases dealing with this situation they are tried under the federal standard of the age of 18 thus making sex with someone under that age against the law. i'm 19, my girlfriend is 17, if we have sex and she decides to take the issue to court (or her parents decide to) then i will go to jail for statutory rape simply because she was under 18. and my record will be essentially ruined because of something so simple. and i would be a registered sex offender for something that didn't really hurt anyone but me. the justice system is quite flawed on these grounds but reform is a hard thing to do
