thislove912 answered Friday December 23 2005, 12:01 am: Girls get them at different times. Usually it depends on when their mom or grandma got theirs. Typically, girls get their perioid anywhere from 9-15, so you still have time. Hope that helps. <3 Bri [ thislove912's advice column | Ask thislove912 A Question ]

GirlOfEmotions answered Wednesday December 21 2005, 4:02 am: This is like deja vous for me (; i got my period a little after i turned thirteen. probably a few months before i turned 14. Girls get it at different rates. It's usually genetic so probably your mom got her period a little later than others too. It's normal. TheHeadHonchoPoncho57 answered Tuesday December 20 2005, 11:59 pm: Relax. You've still got plenty of time. Girls get their period between the age of 9 and 16. First off, it's height, not weight, that counts. Unless the person is going to be short, most people get their period after they've done some significant growing, since you only grow a few inches after you start you period. There's nothing that you can do about it right now. Be glad that you have growing time! I started when I was 11 and I'm 5"2. And having your period is a real pain. You get these awful cramps, you feel physically and emotionally yucky. There's a small pleasure about having you period, knowing that you're "mature" and all, but it's really not worth all the misery. Be happy that you get to wait a while [ TheHeadHonchoPoncho57's advice column | Ask TheHeadHonchoPoncho57 A Question ]

Docholliday answered Tuesday December 20 2005, 11:30 pm: Don't panic quite yet, you are just 13. However if you don't get one by the time you are 15, I would go to a gynecologist or just have your blood tested for PCOS, it can cause acne, weight gain, and much more. But I imagine you don't have that, its kinda rare, but it can be fixed. I have it and I am fine now. [ Docholliday's advice column | Ask Docholliday A Question ]
Kristen03 answered Tuesday December 20 2005, 11:25 pm: Not everyone starts their period at the age of 13. I'm 15, and some of my friends still haven't started theirs yet. It's different for everyone, don't freak out about it. You can't control it. There's nothing wrong with you, it's completely normal. [ Kristen03's advice column | Ask Kristen03 A Question ]

xomegaroni answered Tuesday December 20 2005, 9:45 pm: don't worry. some girls would even consider you lucky haha =) 13 is still young. i know a few people that didn't get until later. what happens is if you don't get it by age 16, you go to the gyno. & they put you on the pill to get your period so you stay healthy & all of that. sometimes gaining/losing weight in a short period of time keeps it from coming. if you gradually gain/lose weight though, i doubt that would do it. most of the time it's juss how your body works. soo if you don't get it in a few years, then go see the gyno. you can now if you want, but it's probably a bit early since you still have plenty of time to get it.
orphans answered Tuesday December 20 2005, 9:43 pm: weight has nothing to do with it.
You dont have to worry about it intill your 16.
if your 16 and dont have then PANIC. but since your 13 you will probably be getting it soon. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
