Is it safe to wear a tampon to sleep in? I'll probably sleep around 9 hours tonight .. I'm just not sure if that's safe (TSS). If I wear a pad, it usually leaks and gets on my shorts im wearing to bed. What should I do?
VainTaraLynn answered Friday August 12 2005, 10:18 pm: Its totally safe, thats why they make them. If your concerned about it leaking though, you should wear a tampon & a pad to prevent any leakage. Make sure yopu get the super absorbant tampons though, because they work well for overnight. [ VainTaraLynn's advice column | Ask VainTaraLynn A Question ]

oneandonly345 answered Thursday August 11 2005, 1:15 pm: yea.. wearing a tampon to bed is fine. just change it right before you go to bed .. and right after you wake up.
i dont know how heavey you are when you sleep.. but i am pretty heavey. so i have to wear a tampon and a pad.. thats just something for you to think of.. so you do not leak.
xHC0Barbi3x answered Thursday August 11 2005, 1:27 am: Im not really sure. I sometimes wear tampons for 9 hours. & nothing really happens. TSS is so rare. extremely rare. to be on the safe side i would wake up inbetween to change it. i guess its fine to just wear it to sleep but right when you wake up change it immediately. & put in the tampon right before you go to sleep. I hope I helped! good luck! much luhhv. xoxo Lauren ♥ [ xHC0Barbi3x's advice column | Ask xHC0Barbi3x A Question ]

devilspawn_666 answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 9:08 pm: It's not healthy to keep a tampon in for 9 hours straight at all. You could maybe get away with sleeping with a tampon in if you wake up in the middle of the night and change it. What I would reccomend is getting some of those pads that are made especailly for night time. They're longer and more absorbant than regualr ones. That should help keep it from getting on your shorts. [ devilspawn_666's advice column | Ask devilspawn_666 A Question ]

DeeplyInLove102203 answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 8:31 pm: Yes its safe to wear a tampon to bed i do it and i dont got TSS i think thats only if you have it in for like a REALLY long time i'm sure you'll be fine...well hope i helped if you need anything just ask*
one_of_a_kind_chicka answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 8:17 pm: you can but they recommend not wearing them for more than 8 hours. some people do and are fine but you might not want to risk it. if you don't want to wear one then try a pad with wings and before you fall asleep make sure it is right so that you won't leak.
beachhun101 answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 7:43 pm: i wouldnt wear a tampon at night to be careful. try using pads with "wings" and that usually helps because it covers more, and get super maxi if it still leaks. also try not wearing your best shorts to bed just in case they get ruined. ur not supposed to wear tampons for more than 8 hours, and even though your flow is lighter at night-i still wouldnt to be safe. hope this helps! juneybug6183 answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 7:02 pm: Yes, it is perfectly safe to sleep with a tampon in. In fact, they now make overnights for that purpose. I do recommend that you try to wake up at least once in the night to change it however.
Supermanlover45 answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 6:59 pm: Personally, I've heard stories that are true that because they wore a tampon to sleep got stuck in there and gave them TSS, they had to have like surgery my sister almost got that as well. I would put like paper towels down of where your sleeping enough to cover that area. or put on a bigger pad the largest you can find if you don't want to ruin anymore pants or shorts. But please don't wear tampons while sleeping it's dangerous. Hope I helped.
daisy23 answered Wednesday August 10 2005, 6:55 pm: i think you should wear a pad, you could even use 2 if you need...its not safe to wear a tampon that long [ daisy23's advice column | Ask daisy23 A Question ]
