Does anyone have any tips for how to redecorate your room with very little money? I don't want to paint it or anything, but I want it to look less plain.
modelkate11 answered Saturday August 6 2005, 3:42 pm: try moving the furniture around and getting some new sheets. you could add a cool area rug to add color without painting too. if you have room a colorful chair might look nice too.
rockstarxlove answered Friday August 5 2005, 7:06 pm: Well i have the same exact problem except im too lazy to do anything about my room. You can buy posters for pretty cheap to put up on your wall. You can always rearrange your furniture, that always helps it look different. You can also buy a few cheap things to make it look more colorful. Such as a rug, a cute lamp, curtians, and pillows. Things like that can help make your room cuter!
GymCutiex27 answered Friday August 5 2005, 6:57 pm: Try adding some bright colors into your room. Maybe add a few lights and a nice bed spread for some extras. Also add some colorful paintings and nice beads to hand in front of your windows and doorway. You can decorate your room however you want but the one word you have to remember is color!
twynelyne answered Friday August 5 2005, 3:48 am: I'd try moving your furniture and a different way and maybe trying to frame pictures and get them up on the walls.. also you can make and stuff your own decorative pillows. Also if you have old sheets and things that are colorful you could cut them and cover the nightstands in unique ways or other piecse of furniture. hope i helped. You can also decorate your door! Its so much fun! Get a bulliten board. They don't cost too much. Fill it up with new things. Like news or drawings, anything!
elscorcho96 answered Thursday August 4 2005, 8:34 pm: Try moving the furniture around your room. Doing that might solve your problem...if you're not satisfied with that, try buying some potted plants to hang from the cieling, get some posters of your favorite band, go through old stuff in your storage and see if there's anything cool there that you missed. Garage and estate sales are also great places to find cool items for your room. [ elscorcho96's advice column | Ask elscorcho96 A Question ]

XxKaTiExLeIgHxX answered Thursday August 4 2005, 6:56 pm: go to a dollar store, they have really cool things for your room. Maybe get posters, and a cool lamp/light and maybe a cool light switch and things like that, maybe take a black marker and write on the walls, like maybe write your favorite quotes and sayings and lyrics and things like that, and also you can draw if your artistic. Try to make it your own. You could use a washable marker so that later if you want to change it you can wash it off. Maybe get new shades for your windows, and new bed sheets and things like that. You could also ask for things for your birthday. Maybe if you have a desk you can write on it like the walls and stuff. Maybe get stickers and put them on your doors and dresser and things like that! I hope I helped! I hope it looks awesome! [ XxKaTiExLeIgHxX's advice column | Ask XxKaTiExLeIgHxX A Question ]
ballerina04 answered Thursday August 4 2005, 6:16 pm: Look in places like Icing, Walmart, Target, and Claires. They have cheap decorating ideas, like chairs, beaded curtains, and pillows. You can just put up posters of your favorite bands, movies, celebrities, etc. Something my friends and I like to do is make collages out of pictures and sayings from magazines. You can get a camera and take a bunch of pictures of your friends and put them around your room. [ ballerina04's advice column | Ask ballerina04 A Question ]
Teen_Guru answered Thursday August 4 2005, 6:08 pm: Try having a theme, like pets, friends, family, etc. then find cheap things at garage sales, attics, or wherever you can buy things cheep like that. Look for posters, pictures, pillows, crafts, etc. all pertaining to your theme.
Some good themes that are fun are
---Friends/memories; where you get pictures of your friends things they have giving you and hang them, place the in your room where you think they look best.
---favorite place in the world; decorate according to your favorite place you’ve been to or want to go to. Use pictures, blankets, crafts, whatever. It could be at the beach, forest, mountains, the city, country, etc.
---Fantasy/Dream; this is a fun one because it how you see the world, though it can get pricy if your not careful. Just pick things that have a fantasy/dream feel to them, lights, pictures, figurine, etc.
I hope this helps you, let me know if I did.
Best of Luck
xRoOxiSxBlOnDex answered Thursday August 4 2005, 6:04 pm: I would suggest hanging up lots of photographs. Make collages! Those are always cute and you can make them with words from news papers and magazines, or photos, or pictures! They always brighten up the room, and are really cheap to make.

I_love_horses answered Thursday August 4 2005, 5:34 pm: Pick one theme, ex. A horse theme, or a Ocean theme.
Then go to garage sales and buy little things that dont cost much that go with the themes, or create things that go with the themes, and you can also rip out pages in a magazine and decorate your walls with your favorite actor or singers pictures. And switch your room around and take out some things maybe.
Thats all the advice I can give you, I hope I helped. [ I_love_horses's advice column | Ask I_love_horses A Question ]

margarita_luvs_ya answered Thursday August 4 2005, 5:32 pm: I have the same problem. My budgets low and painting is just way too much time. Well I go to places like Ross, Pier1, Bed bath&beyond, Dry Ice, Claire's, Icings. I buy lamps that are about $10? And they're fuzzy! I have beaded curtains from Dry Ice for $30 but for cheaper ones go to Icings they have all sorts beaded curtains for about half the price. Poster are also neat but try this. Get and old or plain picture frame and hot glue anything you like on it. Make a theme per frame. One can be of the beach with shells, sand, blue tissue paper for water n some glitter. I have all sorts of ideas IM me @ shakenNOTsturd28. I redecorate my room every month I can't stand he plain look or the same boring one. I want to become an interior decorater so ask away about decorating. Hope you can find something to spice your room up. [ margarita_luvs_ya's advice column | Ask margarita_luvs_ya A Question ]
