MELiixMARiiE answered Wednesday July 13 2005, 10:02 pm: If you go the makeup section of a store, in the nail area there should be some nailpolish that will make your nails grow faster.. I think theres one kinda called," Sally Hassen Nail Growth".. just look for the words NAIL GROWTH on the bottle! And then somewhere near all that stuff there should be stuff I've heard that you put on your fingers and whenever you get the urge to bite and you try to, it tastes really bad. Hope I helped!!

orphans answered Wednesday July 13 2005, 1:23 am: they make a new thing called twister it is a tiny bottle of nail polish remover you just stick your finger in. You could carry it in your purse or pocket and whenever you felt the urge to bite just stick your finger in that and it will make it taste bad [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
ElmosBrightStar answered Tuesday July 12 2005, 5:55 pm: There is something called "Sally Hanson nail growth" , and it makes your nails grow long, fast. Also, near that product on the "Beauty section" there are some similar products that when you put the polish on, and try to bite your nails, you get a horrible taste in your mouth. I used it when I used to bite my nails, and now I don't, so I would recomend it. [ ElmosBrightStar's advice column | Ask ElmosBrightStar A Question ]

azngemini answered Tuesday July 12 2005, 2:42 pm: i used to bite my nails all the time, but then i started painting my nails, which helped me to stop biting them because whenever I bit them, the nail polish would get inside my mouth and it tasted horrible, and my nails looked horrible too. so then i just stopped biting my nails because i didnt want to taste the nail polish because it made me feel like throwing up. and also.

VixenDark answered Tuesday July 12 2005, 11:27 am: Bribe yourself. Say, "if I don't bite my nails for three months, I'll go and get (Insert awesome thing here)"
Try lemon juice on your nails.
Also, keep a nail file handy. Whenever you want to chew your nails, file them.
XxBlink_182_fanxx answered Monday July 11 2005, 11:25 pm: Put black pepper or sum hot sauce on your fingers. It helped me. Or put something on your nails that you don't like.
XxAxFxIxX answered Monday July 11 2005, 10:04 pm: Been there with the nail biting bit.
My mother and I went and got this polish (At Sally Beauty Supply) and it tasted like nasty-ass so I pretty much kept my fingers out of my mouth forever.

JaCkIexDeE answered Monday July 11 2005, 7:46 pm: ok i know this sounds weird, but you can actually buy some kind of nail polish, like at a local drug store (cvs, rite aide), that sells nail polish that tastes horrible, made especially for nail biters. I reccomend this stuff over regular polish, cause since this is made especially for this habit, its not toxic or anything. What? are they going to toxicated so if you ever try to bite, you'll die? Lol ok hope I helped! [ JaCkIexDeE's advice column | Ask JaCkIexDeE A Question ]
devilspawn_666 answered Monday July 11 2005, 7:27 pm: I used to bite my nails all the time... What I did to finally stop is making sure that I had my nails painted at all times. It was just too disgusting to end up with all those chips of paint in my mouth from chewing my nails off, so I eventually stopped. This was the only thing that worked for me, so I hope it helps you too. :) [ devilspawn_666's advice column | Ask devilspawn_666 A Question ]
cRaZyBaby1155 answered Monday July 11 2005, 5:37 pm: NAIL POLISH, in some stores they have polish that taste like really bad, its made just for nail bitters! hope i helped!
DaysGoBy answered Monday July 11 2005, 5:20 pm: I used to bite my nails ALL the time. I bought a little manicure set for like $12 at wal mart and I kept my nails polished and looking nice for awhile and I didn't want to bite them because they looked good and eventually I just stopped biting them all together. It does take awhile though. If you donĂ¢??t like having your nails polished put a little bit of polish remover on your nails. It tastes HORRIBLE and you'll never wanna bite your nails after you taste that a few times. Hope this helps.
---EDIT---
I wouldn't recommend getting fake nails put on, though. Having fake nails WILL help you to stop biting your real nails, but fake nails eventually come off and you probably won't want to have to get them fixed/put back on every month and once they do come off you're real nails will look HORRIBLE. The glue from the fake nails will stay on your real nails and if you take the nails off for the get ripped off it can rip part of your real nail with it. Your real nails have layers and if the top layer gets messed up your nails usually continue to literally peal back in layers. If you get a manicure set you should try to find one with a 4 step buffer/shiner in it because that takes the little groves out of your nails and helps prevent pealing and makes your nails stronger.
curliecue answered Monday July 11 2005, 5:10 pm: A good idea I read in a magazine once was to just gross yourself out. Whenever you catch yourself biting your nails, think about all the dirt that's on them and all the germs. My idea... soak your nails in tabasco sauce in the morning. You can try it if you want to... HA!

sweetjewel answered Monday July 11 2005, 4:50 pm: all you have to do is stick your fingers in something that tastes gross like nail polish remover or peroxide or rubbing alcohol.. then when you go to bite your nails your mouth will be full with a nasty taste and you will learn to stop [ sweetjewel's advice column | Ask sweetjewel A Question ]
HEARTXBREAKER answered Monday July 11 2005, 4:43 pm: OMGGG I had this same problem! There are a couple things I did, that worked:
1. Get a bag of jelly beans, or small candy to chew on when you want to bite your nails.
2. Tell your friends that everytime they see you bite your nails, they're supposed to pinch you (not hard).
3. Put a rubber band around your wrist, and everytime you wanna bite your nails, snap it!
Another thing that's bad, that I got in the habit of doing is biting my knuckles which sounds gross. Don't do it thought, because it's bad. My knuckles are all cut up!
XKill_The_PainX answered Monday July 11 2005, 4:41 pm: You could but something that tastes really repulsive on the tips of your fingernails so you wont want to bite them anymore. I know a friend who did that, and it worked well for her. [ XKill_The_PainX's advice column | Ask XKill_The_PainX A Question ]
