elscorcho96 answered Sunday May 1 2005, 9:39 pm: Greasy foods, chocolate, etc. do NOT make you break out - that is a myth.
The best way to keep pimples at bay is to wash your face when you wake up with some sort of acne wash, use non-comodogenic make-up products (this means they will not clog pores - it's usually printed on the packaging), wash your face after rigorous physical activity, and wash your face before you go to bed. Change your pillow cases once a week as well. And above all, try not to touch your face. [ elscorcho96's advice column | Ask elscorcho96 A Question ]
HEREtoHELPx3 answered Sunday May 1 2005, 7:55 pm: your diet. like dont eat a lot of sugar. and chocolate is a biggie too.
you. you gotta stop touching your face. our hands are full of oil and they get deep down into your skin and get clotted.
sweat. if you sweat a lot especially on your forehead it clogs your pores.
your body develpoing. as you start to develop, the body changes and a lot of people get acne just from the cause of growing older. you can't stop that though..
HERE ARE TIPS TO HELP PREVENT AND GET RIDS OF PIMPLES:
-stridex pads. they are pads that dry up your face that get rid of the dirt that causes pimples.
-cream. go to a dermotologist and he/she can get you cream to daily rub on your face.
-soap. you can use regular soap or there are some soaps just for pimples. wash your face daily.
-hot compress. get a REALLY hot washcloth and just press it where you have the pimples. that will open up your pores and get rid of it.
-DO NOT POP THE PIMPLES! i know it might be tempting and it'll get rid of the pimples you have but it'll just keep coming back bc i dont mean to be graphic but when you pop it, the puss from it like smears kinda on your face or wherever you have it and forms another pimple and the cycle continues. so try to restrain from it.
gakkuhideto answered Sunday May 1 2005, 7:41 pm: Stress, hormones, make-up. One time I let these cheeky little 12-year-olds put their makeup on me and I had the wrost breakout ever, so definitely don't use somebody elses cosmetics. Especially don't put lipstick on your cheeks and mascara on your lips, I think that's what did it more than anything else. Washing your face a lot and not touching your face (the oils go from your fingers to your face) are good ways to prevent breakouts. Use facial masques, exfoliating creams, bag balm (kills infections), KlearAction (or Pro Activ, they're the same thing), Biore strips (for blackheads) to prevent or get rid of acne. Hope I helped =) [ gakkuhideto's advice column | Ask gakkuhideto A Question ]

Michele answered Sunday May 1 2005, 6:45 pm: I am an esthetician so I can help you with that. A hormone called antigen, bacteria and dead skin cells all together cause acne. Now you can't do anything about the hormone, but you can help to alleviate the other two. Use an exfolliating cream or scrub to remove dead skin cells before they clog your pores. Find a mild one and use it daily. If it contains benzoil peroxide, all the better. Then be sure that you keep your hands and stuff off of your face. DO not introduce bacteria to your face, and there is bacteria on everything. Don;t use the same towels on your face that you use to wash your hand, or that everyone else uses. Use a clean towel each time. Keep hands, pens pencils, out of your mouth, Don't chew on fingernails, etc, etc. You cannot cure acne, you can only control it. So you should see improvement in three weeks or so. And oh yes, most of us grow out of it. [ Michele's advice column | Ask Michele A Question ]
Karen answered Sunday May 1 2005, 6:18 pm: Stressing/worrying makes you break out and so does eating chocolate, well for most people. Touching your face a lot also makes you break out and get zits. [ Karen's advice column | Ask Karen A Question ]
