painting my room
15/f. i moved into a brand new house, and my bedroom is white walls with light beige carpet. Everything so far in my room is red - red bedspread, curtains, lampshades, etc. I want to know what color i should paint my walls cause white is so boring. But i'm not allowed to paint them red cause thats way too much red! i was wondering if hot pink was a good color since its a shade of red, but my mom says that won't match. so can anyone think of a color? Thanks.

i would paint your walls jet black with red trim around the ceiling ground and around windows and doors but before you paint it black have your or someone else sketch a giant flower on your wall paint that a shade of red...... i think that would look good..... but i wouldnt suggest keeping the walls white and doing the flower..... to much white...... and pink wont match and all red will be way to over dramatic!!

Brown, Gold, Gold with red trim like outlineing the doors and windows and ceiling, yellow, Orange, take a bunch of colors from your local home depo or the place where your buying the paint and match them up with the red and see which you like best...hope i helped...mauh!

your mom is right...pink will look bad...but i sugggest painting a huge red flower on your white walls that takes up most of the wall, and then do that cuz then it's not all red!!

I say that you keep your walls white, and add a lot of black and white posters, artwork, and photos to your wall. I have seen a lot of bedrooms that are red, black and white, and they look awesome. To make your bed go with your walls, throw some zebra print or black & white pillows on the bed. Add a black and white throw rug on the floor. Take off the red lampshade and replace it with a black and/or white one. You can use black photo frames on your black and white pictures to make it stand out even more. But your mom is right, pink would clash with your entire decore.

Try orange, yellow, or brown. Or you could make the roof yellow with the walls a brown color, but add wood in between the roof and walls, otherwise the brown and yello would seriously clash. ^^ <3 EJ

Hot pink doesnt really match tho. I think that orange would be cute. Also yellow! Brown goes good with red but if you dont want the dirty brown go for something lighter. x0 ` t3za ..

i can really help cause my family paints houses as like her jod and eveyone always loves the room she paints! i asked my mom and she said a golden color would go really nice with red. She also think a tanish color or even beige color would work. She said definitly dont do hott pink that wont match. also dont really use dark colors like dark blue or dark purple. ( i dont think light purple would match either.

i agree with your mom. the hott pink wouldnt match. A golden color would look pretty. Red and gold go great together. when i say gold i dont mean yellow. Or you could paint your walls black and it would look cool...especially at night.

Re-painting rooms is a really hard thing to do because there are so many possibilities and colors to choose from! What you could do is go to a paint shop and get a color wheel and try out different colors on your wall before you make a decision. A color i was thinking that would look nice is a tan/off-white color. I hope that my advice has helped!

Maybe you could paint one of your walls like a darker red than what your bed is! Hope this helps!!

im glad you didnt go with pink, try painting one wall black, and that will draw attention to that wall of your room so you could put your coolest stuff on that wall for poeple to look at.
then your wall wont be really plain, but it wont be too busy, and it WILL match

My friend just redid her bedroom and it's similar to yours. She painted her walls an off white/light tan color and it looked good with her red bedspread and curtains. I was thinking of a light baby yellow but I don't know what your room looks like so that may not look good with all of the red in your room. You could always go to Home Depot and grab some of those samples of colors and see which color would look good.
