Make 3 piles
1.clothes that don't fit or too small etc.
2.things you don't want (too childish etc.)
3.things you need
After put each thing you kept, the place it's supposed to be and remember to keep it simple.

it sounds to me like you have too much stuff, cut back on the things that you don't really need or that you never use, then organize the things that you find important into different areas in your room, that way there should be less mess.

The key is always lots of storage. The more organized storage the better. Be sure to label storage bins and keep them accessible. Start a 2 day rule, if it's in the same spot for two days in a row, assign it a place or throw it out. This will stop dirty laundry and letters from cluttering your space.

Doors and curtains hide messy areas. Under bed storage, wall storage, closet, etc... Take advantage.

Febreeze will cut down on any odors. Designate areas for specific activities. Bed--for sleeping. Desk--for working/writing. Pillow corner--for lounging. Windowseat--for all else. Eating is to be done in the kitchen or somewhere else.

Good luck!

I totally have the same exact problem it seems like everytime i clean my room, it gets back completely filthy the next day...but some ways to prevent this are not bringing food to your room, don't throw things in the floor, get a dirty clothes hamper and put them in there instead of the floor, and/or clean it every day....hope this helps you!! =]

I have the same problem! I just bought these white stacking bins and put them in the corner of my room. I put everything on the floor in them and it looks a lot better. I also have plastic thingys with wheels on them under my bed for clothes...

I had the same problem. Get a basket or something for your clothes and put them in there. When ever its a lil dirty just clean it up so it doesnt get really dirty later on. Get a box or a cup or something for your pens and pencils. If you eat in your room get a lil trash can and just throw it in there instead of leaving it out everywhere. x0 ` __

You could get some draws or some of them simple boxes that'll just slide under your bed.
Everytime you think about leaving something lying around just force your self to pick it up.
If you clean up as you're making the mess it's alot easier than waiting till the mess is huge.

Gets some draws or some boxes to put all the mess in them shove then away in the bottom of your wardrobe or mabe under your bed.
When you have finished with some clothes have a wash basket and put them all in there and then you'll be a lot cleaner.

Oh My GOSH!!! We should be like twins man... seriously. Okay, so here's one thing I do with my messy room. I don't clean it up. BUT, only when I know I have five minutes to clean it up, before someone comes in. So that's where my handy-dandy blanket comes in. See, I have this Happy Bunny(c) blanket, which I use as a rug, since I already have 4 blankets. and so, whenever there's stuff on the floor, or I throw it, I just throw it towards the blanket, few minutes before the guest comes in, I grab each end of the blankey, lift it, and throw it into the closet, and Ta-Da~, a clean floor. It keeps the floor clean too. Also, I'm not sure why you have dishes everywhere, but I won't touch that part of your question. I use this method all the time. Trust me, It works like magic. Hope I helped!!!

~SAM

Seriously, this IS what I do 99% of the time. And that 1% is just, not doing anything...

Alot of times I have the same problem. But after a while the messiness annoys me. So i usually try to put clothes in the hamper and when i get newely wased clothes don't say you will puit them away later, just get it over with. The dishes, try maybe not to eat un your room as much, trust me it works. My desk has drawers so i keep alot of my books and notes and things in there maybe if yours dosen't you should try and get a new one. Just a suggestion! Hope it helps.

MFS answered Monday March 21 2005, 11:12 pm:
It sounds like you just don't keep up with the state of the room. God knows I suffer the same fate, really. To keep things even a little cleaner just means making it a point to not leave things laying around, getting the dirty dishes out, etc. I purge my desk area about once a week. It is still horrible, but a more manageable level or awful. When I can't find things, it is hard to get things done. I try to make it a point to vacuum, which requires me to pick up the floor, which thus requires me to put things away. Chain reaction, really. I just reoraganized the closet and my dresser to better keep my clothes put away, and clothes that aren't worn this time of year I put away in a bin elsewhere so it isn't taking up space.

Try to pick a time to purge and get it as clean as you can... then, pick a night, and once a week, do mini-purges on that night to try to maintain upkeep on the area... and force yourself to pay attention to the little things like dishes, piles of clothes, etc... try not to say "oh, I'll get to that later" because if you're anything like me, later never arrives. ;)
