CHRIStotheTINAA answered Tuesday November 8 2005, 8:13 pm: There are actually a lot of excercises you can doo. You shouldd try to run. That's what I do a few weeks before soccer starts. Try to start out with 8 minutes of running. Then the next 9. Then 10.. so on. Run with a friend, listen to music. It makes a lot easier. You can also work out at a local gym. Also, try doing a lot of lunges. [ slowlyy ! ] What you can do is bring a CD with you on a run, jog for a song, then powerwalk for the next .. etc. It's also a help to work out your upper body for soccer, even though a lot of people think you don't need to for soccer. There's a TON of exercises you can do to get in shapee ! Have a greatt season. [ CHRIStotheTINAA's advice column | Ask CHRIStotheTINAA A Question ]
stalkingroxy911 answered Wednesday April 20 2005, 7:35 pm: the question is do u have axcess to a local gym or workout club? if yes then go to the part where there are medicien balls pick on up sya 5 lbs. to start and rift it over your head like you are going to throw it in and then just move it forward keeping elbows in place and then back to behind your head do about 30 of those. next do ALOT of crunches they dont have to be full sit-ups but i have to be able to feel the burn! there are diffenert but affective ways to work your abs by just doing different types of crunches...*if you email my inbox ill explain* next work your legs (calfs, quads, butt too!) by useing the weight maceins if you need help on what macein works what muscel ask someone who works there because they are to hard for me to explain online...do the heavist wieght you can lift but be able to lift 10 reps each and 3 sets of reps. also try running/walking on the tredmills
this is what i usually do when ever i have time to work out because i play soccer 5 times a week so about 3 times a week i workout so if you have any questions dont be afraid to ask!
hope i helped and you make the team or whatever you are trying to do!
TR0PiCALX3 answered Sunday March 27 2005, 7:27 pm: I was in the exact same situation last soccer season. I felt like when I ran I was running out of breath and everything like that! But one day in pe I just went for it and jogged for the whole 20 mins and after that I could jog as far as I want how fast I want when I want! It's great! Also, I'm not sure if you know this or not but if you try this the next day your legs will hurt and you have to massage them because if you don't acid builds up in there from working so hard and it decreases the muscle size..Hope I helped! ♥ [ TR0PiCALX3's advice column | Ask TR0PiCALX3 A Question ]
Coperture758 answered Saturday March 26 2005, 11:50 am: Hey!! Work on your kicking skills too. But you can go to your school track (if they have one) and you could run or walk some laps. you could jog/walk/run around your neighborhood (if you have one) those are some ways too. but defenitly dont push yourself to hard.Good Luck with soccer. ♥ Michelle

barthez4 answered Tuesday March 22 2005, 8:10 pm: first off, make sure that you're NOT just working on your legs for soccer, because if you want to be an impact player, you need to be strong on the ball and be able to play a physical game as well as a game of skill. its not that skinny players don't make an impact in the game, but its been seen so many times where the little guys who have a lot of foot skills and speed are marked out of the game by physical players.
for running, in order to get back in shape (and you should be setting a goal to be in better shape than you were last year) you should run 2 days, rest one day, run 2, rest one, run 2, rest one and so on. run through the soreness and tiredness, because you're gonna have to do it in practices and games. if your legs are sore, then lay on your back with your legs propped up in a 90 degree angle against a wall for about 25-30 minutes before you go to sleep. when you wake up, you won't be as sore in your legs.
if you really want to get in good shape, go to a place with multiple flights of stairs, and just do sprints on the stairs from bottom to top for half an hour each day. incredibly tiring, but the results are amazing.
**~**Here2HelpU**~** answered Tuesday March 22 2005, 5:59 pm: maybe on your spare time run around the block a few times. maybe run for 5 minutes one day then keep adding an amount of time each day. or maybe if you dont want to run, get a spedometer and walk for like 5,000 steps a day. i play soccer and have seemed that way too but i walk my dogs everyday and that is making me stronger. and for arms maybe you can get like 5 pound dunbells and do those lifty things with them when you walk.
i hope my advice helped you!

neonxspork answered Saturday March 19 2005, 1:04 pm: I think you should start jogging as soon as you can. I play soccer and I know running is a huge part of it, that will help increase your stamina. Also as far as leg muscles go, lunges are killer. A great way to incorperate legs and arms is to do lunges will you hold weights straight out in your hands. So, your taking big lunges steps with dumbels or any other kind of weights in your hands.
oneandonly345 answered Saturday March 19 2005, 10:19 am: soccer.. is the best!! =) haha. well if you get out of breath running.. are you eatting rite? like.. no junk food. lots of water? do that. then start running again. also for your leg muscles i would say.. you could join a gym like if you have Y or something and use their legg lifting stuff. that helps. and your arms. also lift weight. also make sure you are streching good before and after all of this, if you dont.. some times your muscles go down.

westy answered Thursday March 17 2005, 10:24 pm: well as a soccer player i know the key to it is endurance. at first it willl seem very hard but as time goes on it will become less harder. dont quit because you feal liked it instead do it to make you a better athlete. as michael jordan once said "I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying." haha i am SO OUT OF SHAPE. you should play on B team with me! ;)....
lol but if that doesnt make sense and this isnt who i think this is than:
just try to run everyday. even if its just around the block. and do the "6 inches" or whatever its called when you lie down and lift your legs about 6 inches of the ground. it kills but it works. [ rememberxforever's advice column | Ask rememberxforever A Question ]
