my room!
Okay, well i need help with my room. I'm 13 by the way. Okay, so I'm not allowd to paint my walls, and I just got $6000, custommade furniture. But, the thing is, my walls look really empty...I need somthing coolin my room, im a guy. does anyone hae any ideas

i was looking around on ebay today and i saw these really cool beaded curtains...they are hand painted on both sides...with basically anything in any theme you can imagine...i saw some really cool ones--you gotta check it out---beautiful sunsets or maybe a city skyline...and it takes up alot of space on your wall.--attaches with three small nails. (29 bucks)these also look cool hung up in your door way--or closet.--what about mirrored tiles? you only need a couple...or splurge and get a whole box and do a checkboard effect...string up some white lights and you got some real groovy things happining....

Well, it really depends on how you want your room to look, and what the furniture currently looks like.
I've always liked having glow in the dark stars on my ceiling, and I know plenty of guys do too. Fortunately, I've not had stucco ceilings in a while - they've all been the flat painted kind. They usually come with this tacky putty stuff that comes off easy.
If you do have a stucco ceiling, it should be ok to hang things from it (you can just slap a little spackle on to patch it up). Like model airplanes or 3D paper models. I would hang them as close to the wall as possible and make some of them hang lower than others.
Pretty much everything else I can think of has been mentioned already.

Since you're not allowed to paint your walls, go to an art supply store and get the biggest canvas they have. Either paint it yourself or commission an artist. Hey, you could hire me to do it!

Since you can't paint your walls, you can get this stuff called con-tac paper, you can just stick it up on your wall and pull it off as you please.I think it comes in different colors I'm sure you've heard this, but posters work, too. Also lamps, I'm not a big fan of open shades, or sunlight streaming into my room, but you can get very unique lamps. It also depend on what your hobbies are and what you like. So, if you're into skateboarding, have your first skateboard (which should be busted if its your first) put in a special case or something and put it on the wall. I wasn't allowed to paint my room, either, but i still made it my own, I had a disco ball in there, all these posters, my little odds and ends, but my room still looked better thanmost peoples who had painted walls. Well, good luck, and go to some of your favorite stores to get some ideas, that works for me.

What I did for my room is I went to art.com and found prints that I like on there. There are SO many. Then, either get them framed right on that site and they can ship them to you, or frame them yourself in poster frames from Target or something for cheaper.
What I did is I have black funriture and white walls so I got black and white prints and framed them in black frames and put them all over my room.
But this would work with color prints or anything, it's cheap and it adds a lot to the room without painting, I think!
Something else you could do is check out the Trading Spaces webpage, they have their old projects on there and stuff and you might get some cool wall ideas.

What are your favorite things? If you like something, such as sports, maybe get posters of the athletes you like. Try getting lava lamps and glow in the dark posters. I love those. Besta Luck

If I had a scanner, I would totally email you drawings. I am an artist and a tomboy, so basically know what you need. Just go to Walmart, or whatever, and look in the poster section, or draw your own on large paper( that's what I'm doing) and go have fun. Then get some cool lights, like a strobe light or black light. Glow-in-the-dark is pretty cool too. Then their is blacklight hairspry where you can right stuff on the wall and it shows up when up put the black light on it. I also like highlighters. It suprised me how vividly they showed after the light went out.

dear room trouble,
posters of your favorite band/singers are always good but you ahve to be careful that the tape doesn't take the paint off your walls. i think lanterns are pretty cool too. somehting ive been thinking about doing to my room is taking newspapers and cutting out the cool comics and interesting columns then put them all over your walls till thats all you can see! that'll be your new wall paper and itll give you something interesting to look at. or if you're dying to paint your walls another color, paint over the newspaper! just an idea!

Photos of friends, or one giant collage of all your fave photos, 'cause lots of little ones could look quite messy :) Jumbo posters of your fave actors/singers. Would you be allowed to have patterned wallpaper? You can get some pretty cool (non-granny-ish!) designs now.
There's also the fact that if you want loads of accesories, you'll want your walls to look bare to tie it all in :)
You could have fairy lights, a noticeboard (with funny messages from your friends on!), dream catchers, windchimes, mirror balls, even galilaeo (sp?) thermometres. Candles might be cool too.
I know you're not allowed to paint your walls, but would you be able to do little paintings? For example, me and my friends painted loads of cool-looking flowers (like daisies and stuff) onto the wall in my study in the summer holiday, and not only was it cheap because we only needed paint tester pots, but it brightened up the wall and was a load of fun! We even did a hand-shaped flower using my hand print!
You could drape tapestries or material on the wall too, or put shelves up and put little ornaments or photoframes on them. Try and make the most of your window - I have little silver stars stamped around the edge of mine to brighten it up a bit. An interesting lamp shade might help too, as would a really long (maybe even one of those cool wavy ones?) mirror! A bead curtain or light box could go on your wall too. There's even mirror tiles if you don't want a full-length mirror.

Try making a collage of pictures that you've taken of you and your friends. It might be a bit girly but i found it works really well. xx

Since your walls are plain and boring, try putting up posters of your favorite bands, movies, and such. That's basically the only thing you can do to make your room better, since you are a guy. You probably wouldn't want to put up pictures of your friends on your walls, right? If you have any trophies or medals, you can put a shelf up on your wall and put them on it. I'm trying to think what you can do with your walls but try watching Cribs on MTV, they always have good suggestions if the celebrities are teenagers.
