Question Posted Thursday December 30 2004, 7:21 pm
I'm overweight... I participate in a lot of sports and i think i get enough excercise... i could be doing more... but my big problem is sweets... its like an addiction... i just cant seem to stop eating them!!!!!! does anyone have any ideas on how to help me eat more healthy?

Also, you can make a plan that you will have sweets only like once or twice a week. Another thing that will help a lot is to drink more water. Hope I helped! I hope i helped!! :)
LoLo2454 answered Thursday December 30 2004, 9:52 pm: Slowly start getting yourself away from them and more towards fruits and veggies. What you can do is dip apples in chocolate or peanut butter. and slowly get away from the sweet part and just eat the fruit along. I dunno, that might work. Or just stop buying those sort of things so they wont be around the house for you to have. Hope I helped.

LoStNcOnFuZeD answered Thursday December 30 2004, 8:41 pm: I can relate to your problem. The only thing you can do is use some will-power and really keep yourself from eating all that junk. Instead of grabbing junk food for a snack try eating some fruit. I think fruit is the best alternative because it still has sugar - it's just natural sugar. It's also sweet and what's best is that it's good for you. But also keep playing sports. It'll help keep you in shape while you're eating better. Plus sports kick ass! haha [ LoStNcOnFuZeD's advice column | Ask LoStNcOnFuZeD A Question ]
college101 answered Thursday December 30 2004, 8:18 pm: i now how you feel it is so hard sometimes to give up something that is everywhere like sweets. but who said you have to go cold turkey. first you need to think about how much sweets you eat or drink (softdrinks where my thing) an then think of a way to slowly cut them out. for me it was stop drinking softdrinks during lunch, then cutting down from there. it tuff at first but soon you will be surprised how easy it can be [ college101's advice column | Ask college101 A Question ]
AsKmE135 answered Thursday December 30 2004, 8:15 pm: If you don't eat sweets for about 2 weeks, you just stop having cravings for them. Try that! If it doesn't work then just trying eating tasty foods that don't have a lot of fat. Like fruit and low-fat ice cream, i donno. Good luck! [ AsKmE135's advice column | Ask AsKmE135 A Question ]

MakalahLea answered Thursday December 30 2004, 7:57 pm: Try low sugar/low carb or sugar free desserts. You could also make your own cakes, candybars and cookies using a sugar substitute so that you can control the amount of fat and sugar (calories) that are in the sweets that you eat. Also, if you only eat what you make yourself you might eat less of it since cooking takes time which you might not have in abundance.
If you want to add something onto your exercise program try walking with low weight ankle and wrist weights on for 30 minutes a day. Best Wishes!
