Ok: so i love scary movies... spook houses, and doing the ouiji board. I live down in the basement all alone and after seeing freaky movies... like Saw I can't sleep. I think that there in my basement gonna come kill me.. and even though I'm 16... i still sleep with my t.v. on all night... even though I can't stand a speck of light in the night i LOVE watchinng scary movies... but i get so scared I sometimes cry! What can I do?
TheTeenGirl answered Monday January 24 2005, 10:16 am: I couldn't sleep in a basement after watching scary movies, you brave little thing! But anyway, sleep on the couch in your living room and turn on cartoons, thats what I'd do, or the disney channel, not something scary. I'd ty falling asleep as fast as I could too.
Peachgirly answered Monday December 13 2004, 12:31 am: have a friend sleepover at ure house and at night turn off the lights so it will b completely dark and remind ureself that all the stuff in scary movies are not real. And in the dark it will feel peaceful and calm. remember itz ure mind that is like telling u something is gonna kill u. And then try the same thing when u are by ureself by turning off the lights again at night. Good luck!!! [ Peachgirly's advice column | Ask Peachgirly A Question ]

punkchick767 answered Saturday November 20 2004, 2:52 pm: well maybe you should cut down on the scary movies..and make sure the doors are locked and whatever..and since your parents prolly live with you..they're not gonna let anything bad happen to you [ punkchick767's advice column | Ask punkchick767 A Question ]
xplayb0ycutiexx answered Monday November 15 2004, 6:45 pm: Well babe.. you KNOW that none of that stuff is real.. and just like.. try thinking of a guy u like when u start to get scared.. or try to think of something else.. like what ur gunna wear the next day.. or just anything! just keep saying it over and over again in ur head.. that's what i always do.. another thing that helps is calling a friend and talking on the phone till u totally forget about it.. sweeTie3 answered Monday November 15 2004, 4:21 pm: if your so scared of the movies then dont watch them..i mean it cant be an addiction cuz no1 gets addicted to movies ;-)ust try and think tht no1's there and all the movies are fake..do you ever have like freinds spend the nite or nehting..wait for them until you watch a movie so you kno sum1 else is there w/ you..at least for the first nite..other then tht all i can tell you is to think of it as nothin is real..and all they want to do is scare you.
buckems answered Monday November 15 2004, 3:16 pm: Really the only thing you can do to really make it go away is stop watching them. but im like you i love watching them. just think to your self that non of that if true and fall asleep with some one on the phone [ buckems's advice column | Ask buckems A Question ]
EllenBy92 answered Sunday November 14 2004, 8:36 pm: Well, there is not much you can do about it since you cannot controll you're thoughts or dreams. I remember as a child seeing shadows b4 I went to sleep when it was really just a pile of clothes, or checking under my bed rite before i go to sleep. But i eventually got over it,... and you will too. But for now, the best thing you can do is remember that it isn't real. Try watching a funny movie right b4 you fall asleep to keep ur mind off the topic.
pErFeCt_DeViL answered Sunday November 14 2004, 8:06 pm: im the same way! the thing that helps me is to put on the tv and watch it until u fall asleep. you can also sleep w. a pet bcause they make you feel comforting.and jus think even if all those movies are tru and if something wood happen the safest place to be is the basement its the last place a killer would go.
CaLiEnTeBaYbEe answered Sunday November 14 2004, 7:56 pm: UHH stop watching scarey moviez at nite smart 1! duh ther gonna scare u....if they scare u that bad then stop watching them

SoNuLiCiOuSsS answered Sunday November 14 2004, 7:40 pm: i'm like that too... i saw the grudge on halloween & i'm still sleeping with my light on... Just think about it this way... if anything like that hasnt happened to you in the 16 years that you've been alive... it's most likely not going too... all those horror movies are fiction... & the ones that are based on true stories are highly exagerated... so don't worry nothing is going to happen... say ur prayers before u go to bed... as long as u have God in ur heart... nothing can happen to you [ SoNuLiCiOuSsS's advice column | Ask SoNuLiCiOuSsS A Question ]

S_C answered Sunday November 14 2004, 6:55 pm: I'm the same way. After watching a scary movie, I always put in a funny, or sad one. Like after I saw The Grudge for the 1st time, it made me soooo scared of Japanese people (odd, I know) So when I got home, I fell asleep while watching the DVD A Walk to Remeber. (I saw a very late showing of the Grudge, like a 11:00pm (not that late, but you get what I mean) So watch a funny or sad, or fantasy type movie before going to bed. Or listen to the radio, or since it's almost christmas, go to bed with your CD player playing christmas songs. Do something happy after the movie, and then you'll sort of forget about it. superGiRL21 answered Sunday November 14 2004, 6:53 pm: OMG! You are exactly like me! I love them to death. After i saw "SAW" i got so scared i was debating whether or not i should sleep in my parents room! (kinda stupid huh???) What helps me after i watch scary movies is to watch a funny show on tv, put in a funny movie, or call one of friends who tells great jokes and who i know can make me laugh. If you go to bed with your last thought being of that creepy movie then thats whats gonna play in your mind ALL night long! Try what i do and tell me if it works!
