Question Posted Tuesday November 9 2004, 5:56 pm

Ok. I want to lose 100 pounds or more in about 1 -3 years. Will this make me lose 100 pounds. For breakfast all I eat is cereal. Then I have gym for 4th period. Which 2/5 days I walk about a mile or more. For lunch I have a sprite and sometimes chips. Then for dinner I have whatever my parents make. Then after dinner I do 35 sit ups, 50 squats. 30 jumping jacks. Also, I do watch what I eat. I drink water most the time and sometimes Ill have a pop. I usally only have 1 pop a day. Is there anything else I should do to help me? And do you think that'll make me lose 100 pounds in 1 - 3 years? Ok thanks.

No i dont think it will...LoL sorry for the forwardness. Cause thats exactly how i ate and i kept the same weight. The chips and the 1 soda a day will keep your weight on. Keep up those situps and all the other exercises though but find something better to eat for lunch!!

dont drink soda, dont eat chips. soda has no nutritional value and chips is just fried starch. 1 pop a day...lose it. drink milk or juice instead. don't be afraid of carbs. carbs are way better than meat. if u eat meat, you are only getting protein. if u eat rice, barely, pasta u'll get vitamins as well. the only way ppl gain weight from carbs is they eat carbs along with meat and dont excercise. carbs is just energy waiting to get burned. i suggest u go vegetarian b/c u'll get all your nutrients and u wont get cholesterol from meat.

At lunch, the sprite an chips needa go, and a salad wouldnt hurt =) Cereal has a lot of carbs, so does fruit, but youd be better off eating fruit because its lighter, For dinner, stay away from breads and pastas- like meat, or a salad... Meat is always good to eat because it has barley any carbs if any. The excercizes are good, but i think your overworkin it a lil on the jumpin jacks, they dont really do anything at all, running, jogging- would be better...anD if you drink soda, get diet cause it doesnt have any carbs, but water is always better when your trying to loose weight because you sweat alot, and you get dehydrated, and water reenergizes ya! Hope i helped

Okay, you need to excercise way more. Walking is going to do pretty much NOTHING. Try RUNNING a mile everyday. If u cant run a mile, then just start out slow and as u get more into shape u can run faster and longer. Try to work yourself up to about 3 miles. And u need to do that more than 2/5 days a week. You should be getting ATLEAST 20 minutes of exercise 3 days a week, but since u want to lose weight you should be excercising more.

As for lunch, sprite and chips definitately won't help u at all. Try an apple and make some turkey or something and water. And u shouldnt starve yourself, because when u starve yourself, your brain sends messages to your body to hold onto it's fat longer because it thinks it's going to need the energy. So you should still eat, but just eat healthy, low-fat foods like fruits, veggies, and chicken (not fried.) Also there are some drinks that can increase your metabolism like grapefruit juice and green tea. Maybe u could try drinking one glass of either one every day. Also tell ur parents to make u healthy food for dinner every night.

Hope this helped!! Rate me plz and give me feedback and let me know if its working out for u! Good luck!!

youre on the right track, but honestly, you should complete cut soda out (i know it sounds hard but its worth it trust me, i dont drink sodas at all and diet sodas are bad for you too because the more fake sugar you have the more of a craving you have for MORE sugar), drink lots of water and do cardio cardio cardio (thats really the only thing that helps weight loss), for breakfast cereal is great, make sure u eat it with skim milk, dont eat chips, they wont fill you up and you'll stay hungry, id recommend a healthy sandwhich with NO MAYO! or any dressing, just lean meat, low fat cheese, and veggies. dinner is the most important though, NEVER EVER eat within 3 hours of sleeping, eat salads with no more than 1 tbs of low fat dressing (salads FILL you up and theres no calories, or eat a HEALTHY sandwhich), snack on fresh fruits instead of juice, and save foods like low fat ice cream for the weekends, and drink PLENTY of water, and you'll really see results, i know it sounds hard, but hey no pain, no gain.. its pays to look good

There is nothing wrong with cereal unless its loaded with sugar SUCH AS CHEERIOS. Put some fruit on that if you can. The stuff that Kashi makes gives you extra fiber, and it tastes pretty good. Use low fat milk. Sprite and chips have tons of sugar in them. That's like 400 calories right there. You could have 3 veggies and a lean meat for that! Especially if they didn't have butter and remember that beans and pasta are starches to be used sparingly since you already used one starch for breakfast. Keep it under 1000 calories and you will lose weight. I don't know how long it will take, but since you are already exercising it should start to come off soon. Just be patient.

For breakfast, choose a cereal with less sugar than what you eat now, I've realized cereal has tons of sugar in it, which will turn into fat. Also maybe you should have a healthier lunch. Sprite& chips have LOADS of sugar in them& depending on when you have gym, you might have it before lunch..so you wouldn't be working off the calories/fat you gained from lunch. I can't really tell if this will help you lose 100lbs though, it's hard to say. Hope I helped!

I can't say that it will work because if you are over weight then it is hard to lose. Also, if you don't eat then you will prodominately get fatter because it was hard on your body. To change from eating so much to so little. Work on measuring out the stuff you eat, and only eat half a portion of what you used to eat, and work out yes, working out is good. But, you will have no energy if you don't eat. You will exhaust yourself, fall asleep in class, be gragy around friends, and so. Take it slow, don't rush yourself, and yes, WATER is very good! And no more pop! Depending on what you drink, it isn't good for you no matter what you are drinking. Hope this helped! *Laney*

xoRachel answered Tuesday November 9 2004, 7:13 pm:
Stop eating cereal.. eat something healthy like a banana or apple. Don't drink pop at all. Drink water and milk. Don't eat anything with a lot of sugar like chocolate and if you parents make stuff that isn't very healthy ask them to make some healthier stuff or eat something healthy with it. Try to jog half a mile a day outside of gym. You need to exercise basically every day to lose 100 lbs in 1-3 years and it'll be a lot of work. Wait an hour or so after dinner to do your workout because otherwise you'll just get hungrier faster and eat more, which will probably make you gain weight. Hope I helped!!

Thing is, this is all up to your metabolism. Really, I think you need to add more physical activity. Sit-ups and squats are toning exercises. Jumping jacks are conditioning. Do more heavy conditioning, like walking longer, then upping that to jogging.

xxxxxx answered Tuesday November 9 2004, 6:43 pm:
no. it will not work. cut out the cerial completely. cerial has TONS of sugar which is part of your weight problem. so does sprite. DO NOT HAVE SPRITE! drink water instead. and chips! no way! no junk food. its greasy, fattening, and loaded with carbs and fat. no. just no. you need to exercise a little more than 1 period of gym. and eating whatever your parents make is fine just as long as its not really fattening.

selectopaque answered Tuesday November 9 2004, 6:19 pm:
It would be better if you ate a small lunch. Not just a soda and chips, but an actual healthy, small lunch. Breakfast should be your largest meal, and supper your smallest. But do not skip lunch.
Your metabolism needs to stay at a constant, but if you skip lunch, then by supper time your stomach will freak out and you'll actually gain more weight because you didn't eat any lunch.
It's actually really healthy for you to eat a good sized breakfast, and then throughout the day eat four to seven small healthy meals.
