I am a retired member of law enforcement in my late 50s. My wife of 35 yrs left me suddenly last month. No discussion, she just was gone. A few days layer she called saying she needed a break. She suffers from major depressive disorder. My kids, late and early teens live with me. My son has shut her out of his life as this is the 2nd such departure she has made in the last yr. My son is angry and hurt by her actions. My young daughter is confused. I know i must care 4 my kids and do so but i am so down. These were to be my retirement yrs,instead it is hell. I am thirteen years old, female, and about to go to eighth grade. I'm really scared about it, though, and I don't think I'm prepared enough.
Here are a few things you should know:
- My school closed, so I have to go to a new one.
- I don't know my way around the school.
- I tend to get stressed out about grades.
- I'm awful at making friends.
- I am a perfectionist, and I usually stay up late to finish my homework. (That's something I like about summer -- I can go to bed as early as I want and get enough sleep.)

how does going to jail change a person?

asked a similar question before but really wanted to see more opinions
My mother is currently in jail for a financial crime for six months. I have no problem with my mother and She was a good mother. Before this misdeed though I am wondering if now it might be hypocritical for me to listen to her now that she is a criminal. One thing I wonder is how being in jail will change her. Obviously spending eight months there would change you somewhat. I mean now that my mom is a criminal and will be surrounded by other criminals for eight months. I've talked to her on the phone and she seems the same but I still wonder. One positive that may come from this, maybe she will go easier on me. Though that could be a bad thing I guess

So there's this guy that I work with. I'm 18, he's 22. He's a sarcastic person but I've noticed that his sarcasm toward me is mean but his sarcasm toward everyone else at work is nice or funny. First day of eighth grade. ???

Ok so my first day of eighth grade is coming up, (August 21) and I'm super nervous!!! At least 15 kids (out of 60 in 8th grade) left last year, so a lot more are coming in. Basicaly, I need advice on how to get people to like me on the first day (how to leave an impression). I have short blond hair, I'm white, I get strait A's, I'm 5'2, and 89 lbs, (I have health issues so I need to eat or I'll get really sick, but I just end up losing weight) and I'm 13. Ps: I reallly want a boyfriend this year ! I've had one before, but we broke up like 2 years ago. SORE THROAT

I have a sore throat right noww, it hurts a lot and I can't stand it. I'm taking a medication ,but the strange thing is that this it happens to me often. My throat gets better and after about a month it appears again. What may be happening? It's awful since even when I'm walking the pain gets even worse.

Tips for being with an older guy

So I've been talking to/hooking up with this guy that I met about a month ago. We have good chemistry together and don't seem to ever run out of things to talk about so things are going well between us. The thing is that he's 33 and I'm 19.
We've already had sex once but we're making plans to have a sleepover together soon and I was just seeking some advice as to what older guys might like in bed.. I know everybody has their own preference, and we're comfortable with each other so I can ask questions (like "do you like when I do that/what do you want me to do"), but what may be something that could kind of 'wow' him from me?

I can't stand this man ..

There is this guy that I just can't stand. Another problem is that he works with me.
That has nothing to do with it though because I knew him before that. I just can't stand this person. He's not even particually mean to others, he's just very full of himself and talks down on everyone in and outside his job. I would just ignore him but obviously I cant. I dont know how to deal with it. I am not the only one who doesn't like him. He even told me that basically noone really wants to be friends with him. I tried to be his friend when I met him but it's just impossible for me. How can I deal with this hate towards him? I seriously wish to see him suffer sometimes. I just cant stand him and I think that I literally hate him.. How can I deal with this?

i have been trying to find a job since i was 20.. tried fast food, tried mom and pop shops, tried local ads, cant go back to school til i pay off my student loans. credit score is around 200 and im only 25. i applied to food stamps in 2011 and got turned down. i applied for unemployment they said there was no problem for me to find a job. im really considering going bankrupt. unlless i can find some kind of job. can u help?

I signed up for journalism and computer editing classes but I would like to know what it takes to become a graphic designer(bachelors degree) I am very creative and I am an introvert but I think I would be a great graphic designer. PS3 and online gaming?

I wanted to buy myself a PS3 at the end of the month but I just wanted to be clear about something before I do so.
From what I understand, to play games online with an xbox 360 and have to pay for a monthly or yearly subscription fee. But from what I understand about the PS3, you don't have to pay anything (aside from your regular internet bill, of course) Is that right? Google was never 100% clear.

Hey everyone!:) so I'm reletively young and I like this guy naed Jacob. Hes a total sweetheart, goofy, funny, nice, old fashioned, and so polite!:) hes my definition of perfect!
