job corps questions
do anyone know about the job corps program like I know that the "school" provides boarding and all that stuff but I was wondering do someone know how much money they give a week and how much they give you once you "graduate " from their ??? im planning on going their this month and im a little nervous because I personally doesn't know who anyone who remember what its like my grandmother went but she cant seem to remember but she remembers that you receive money for attending and after

Hey there I went to the job corp when I was 17 I'm 31. My memory is a little rusty by ill tell you what I remember the job corp is loads of fun you meet all types of people so don't be worried about not knowing anyone. When you get there you wl be with about 12 other people a small group it will be there first day to so off the bat you make friends the call these people inputs because you are being put into the system. It's a small community so you maje friends fast you might even see someone you know. Your inputs are like you family. I remember when I got there like the 3rd or 5th day I felt like I knew these people my whole life.
Now asked fir the money when I went it was the year 1998 to 1999 so I don't know if the rules changed. But I got 34 dollars a week for poker money to buy soap toothpaste ramen oodles and noodels stuff like that. Then every months the job corps will give me 50 dollars but I wasn't given that money till I graduated. So it saves up in an account they have for you.
The longer you stay the more money you get. Like your 34 dollars per week will go up to 54 dollars a week. If you're a good student you behave and your teacher give you a good evaluation. Their version of a report card you'll get extra money on your pay check. They pay you in cash too.
If you complete your trade and graduate you get 500 dollar bonus if you graduate and find a job in 3 months after you graduate you get a 300 dollar bonus when I left I got my g.e.d and cosmotology trade so I got 1500 which to be was a lot at 17 years old lol.
Some things to remember you will be drug tested. If you fail the drug test and a lot of kids do cause the. Smoke weed you will be locked down on campus for 90 days
Make friends but stay to your sf hrs easy to get in trouble
Remember some of these kids were kicked out school fire being bad or some grew up in foster care so there can be kids who steal and are problematic
Job cities is great place with a lot of opportunity so take advantage
