Highschool and backpacks?

I'm starting highschool in august, and i dont know anyone or anything about the school. And I know this one girl who is a few years older than me and she goes to a diff highschool, but she said its like "uncool" to carry a backpack. She said she usually carries like a big messenger bag type thing. Is this true? And do i need a backpack on the first day? thanks.

Taking back sunday- Degrassi?

There's an episode in Degrassi, where Taking Back Sunday appears. Anyways, in the show, they end up playing a song, and Id like to know if anyone knows the name of it?
I totally forgot all the lyrics so that's no help. =/ I just know whenever I listen to that song, I fell in love with it.

FRESHMEN INITIATION IDEAS.

I'm a senior on the school's soccer team and every year the seniors throw a freshmen initiation party. In the past, they've done things like put on a fashion/NON-fashion show in front of the guy's team, rolled in syrup, honey, and feathers and stuff on the ground, etc. We're trying to think of something different to do, but can't come up with anything REALLY good. So does anyone have an experiences or ideas?
Of course, it can't be anything that physically hurts them or anything like that. And it will most likely be outdoors, weather-permitting.

I have a problem... I don't exercise enough. I am not fat by any means, but that's just because my metabolism is really fast. I just do not enjoy going to the gym, there are no team sports to play around here, and I don't know if yoga will be enough (i mostly stretch and breathe). any suggestions of something I can do to get motivated or a new kind of exercise I could try doing? I don't like to sweat if I don't like what I'm doing. Any help appreciated!

this guy who went out w/ my best friend stated talking to me when they were going out and after she broke up w/ him he was being really nice to me and a good friend but today he started being really mean and said the only reason he talked to me was because i was best friends w/ his g/f....and now im feeling really used and dont know what to do

I'm 16/f, used to be bestfriends with a 16/m. We were extremely close, the best of friends, we no longer are. We've grown apart due to random fights, and idk why. But anyway, I cry all the time over him. It's like mourning a loss, but really it's just a friendship. Basically, I've tried since February (when we were no longer best friends) to maintain a good friendship with him, and it's real hard.
I've come to the conclusion that continuing being his friend is the wrong choice. He's the only person that makes me cry, I always feel like I'm never good enough for him, I'm tired of being hurt. Would you say cutting all contact with him, not seeing him, etc, would help me forget about him & allow me to no longer be his friend?

Ok, I've only had my period like 5 times and Im almost 17. My mom took me to a doctor who gave me some supplements but Ive only had a period once in the past three months... (I havent had one this month) What do I do?

OK, so Im working with kids about ages 7 to 10, although there is 1 6yr old and one who's 4. I've so run out of stuff to do with them! I need some game Ideas. They love Simon says, any kind of tag, froggy murderer, lots of different stuff. Plus, how do I get them to focus while theyre hyper?! PLZ HELPPP!
