dvd rw drive problems

windows xp
1470 mb ram [just put some in]
amd 64 processor 3500+, 2.2 ghz
using both itunes and wmp
computer is about five/six years old
I installed a new internal dvd rw drive in my computer since the previous dvd rw drive wasn't working properly [import speeds less than 3x, couldn't play movies or audio cds without tremendous lag] and I couldn't find a solution other than to replace it.
Well here's what I replaced it with:

Ive been dating my guy for over a year. And my parents are getting a little if'y about him because he doesn't talk with them as much. I believe the quote from my father was " when a guy is dating a girl, he tries to convince the parents that he's interested by talking with her parents" How do i (or should i even) ask him to put more of an effort towards my parents. He's a bit quiet but i know he loves me. Being a family girl this is kinda important to me, but i dont know how to ask him to show them what i see. Please Help ASAP!

Why do I want a boyfriend?

Okay well I am 15/f an I have an small problem. It's like every time I meet or hear about an interesting guy who is into what I like, I automatically like the guy without really knowing him. I wish I could save the crushing for after we become friends not before. Today in my second day of school I met this guy: very friendly, same musical interests, kinda shy, and really cute. So all of a sudden I am starting to develop feelings for him. When I met him I feel like I was stuttering and kinda embarrassed myself. I just have a huge problem with showing people who I really am. I feel like only 2 people really understand me completely. I have had problems with making friends and I want to learn how to properly express myself. Thank you to anyone who can help in any way!

i'd like to hear everyone and anyone's opinion, but i'd love for the older columnists to help me on this one... question being, do you think there is a certain age in which you can REALLY fall IN love with someone? Or do you think you can fall in love at any age, whether you're 16 or 50? So many people say at 8 you cannot fall in love, yet at 16 you can.. what is the difference? of course, the difference with any age is experiance, but do you guys really believe these theories? i want opinions!!! thanks =]

okay so me and my friend are sort of sharing this dog.
and like she gave it to me,
and like i really cant buy dog food right now and i dont know why the heck i didnt think about asking her to bring me dog food (dumb i know).
but like u know those frozen vegetables?
well i cooked them and let them cool.and hes eating it, i mean it looks like it likes it but is it healthy for it??.
and what time of dog food do i get.

How to Make a Slide Show for Best Friends Birthday

O.k. so my friend is turning 16 in about a week, and I'd like to make her a slide show with a ton of pictures of us with our friends, her with our friends, etc. The problem is I'm pretty bad at things like this and have no idea where to begin. I mean obviously I have all the pictures saved to the computer in a special folder, but my computer is not too great and probably couldn't handle a program you have to install or whatever. Is there anything I can buy at like a Best Buy or something that's very easy to put into your computer to just set up the pictures on it so that she can watch it on her t.v. (this part is very important, I'd like her to be able to watch it on a t.v.). So is there a DVD type thing I can buy to put in my lap top &a...

okay its this boy i really like and weve been talking and lastyear we didnt have any clases together but this year we do and today we were like staring at eachother in class and we have the same lunch together and i called him tonight and we talked for a while but this girl has him on her my space page but thier not a couple and he wants to come see me this weekend and i do too ....but i dont know if he is not serious with her or wants to be serious with me .... and by the way last year we were already established that we like eachother please just give me some advice thanks

I want to play field hockey in college (D1), but the thing is, I'm not a starter. Its not that I'm not good, I'm very good with a lot of potential, its just that our team always goes to states and wins right? So I just don't start or even play that much.
And I reaalllyyy wanna play in college. So I'm a junior, and if you wanna play in college, you have to start sending out things already. The thing is, I don't want to because I don't start, so its just doesnt look too good.
So what should I do? I have to start thinking about it already

I like this guy and we "talked" for a week over the summer. But, then we quit because he got busy, etc. Anyways, he would flirt with me this year a lot and then i found out he got a girlfriend over the weekend so i was sad but i realized people move on. i am about 5'5" or 6" and i'm like 120 pounds so i'm pretty average. i really like this dress and would like to get it for homecoming. if i do get it i'm buying it online so i was wondering if you think it would be too short on someone like me? i know dresses from these types of places tend to be really short.

Does anyone know why inmates at the Sarasota County Jail in Florida can only stay there for 11 months and 29 days and then they have to be transferred to the prison in Tallahassee? Please give any info. you have. Thanks in advance! =]

At my school, I tried to start a Writing club, but this other girl had the same idea as me. Because of that, and the fact that we can't create the same club twice, we had to partner.
To put it simply (and harshly, which I apologize about) she is very strange. "She" also has excessive body hair, meaning, a beard, and a mustache. And smells.
People are actually interested in our club, but they are STAYING AWAY because of her.
She is my co-president. If I forced her to step down, then we'd probably have about 50 people coming. Right now, we only have 10, and I think we will loose them.
So what do I do? Either way, if it doesn't improve, I'm going to call it quits.
