well, i registered as a user to a penpal website, where you can meet people from other countries. it has been great so far! i have more penpals than i wanted, all from different places. i just started worrying today about one of my penpals... his name is emmanuel, and he is from ghana, africa. i have been talking to him over email for maybe 2-3 weeks. i sent him some pictures of america, like places i've visited and sometimes pictures of me and my friends. i do that with my other penpals and they usually send some pictures themselves.
anyway, the most recent email he sent me (today) asked about a lot of personal information -- like what school i go to, he asked for a picture of my family, what my friends name is, he told me that he desperately wants me to visit him, and he even asked for my postal address. doesn't that sound a little fishy? i mean, i've asked some things about ghana and his culture, but not things like that. he told me in scattered emails that not many people in ghana speak english or even go to school, and i noticed that his english was rather good. i didn't ask him where he learned it from, assuming his mom/dad taught him.
then today, for the heck of it, i typed his full name in on the internet and a few links came up. i went to this one site and it said that he was a 23 year old that stole 2-point-something million cedis (african $) in rice and in 1997. it also said that he was in prison for 3 years. i started worrying over this because of past experiences with meeting people over the internet.
im not sure if i should email him anymore. what should i say to him if i do? what if his name is common in africa, like smith is a common last name in america?
i havent responded to that email he sent me regarding those questions. what should i do?

I want to become a nicer person and stop judging people and gossiping about them behind their backs. I constantly find myself doing these things even after I promised my self that I wouldn't. I've lost friends because of me being like this, and I want to be someone others can trust and be someone they can call a good friend. Do you guys have any tips on how to become that type of person?
i went through the SAME thing.
what you do is like FIRST right it down.
like on a piece of paper. something like. "i want to be the person who people talk to not about" and like tape it on your wall were youll see it. that way you remind youself.
2nd. instead of telling OTHER people the secrects you hear. write it down in like a dairy. that way your letting it out and no one has to hear! or write down what you think.
3rd. one way you can make sure you dont talk about people. dont let other people talk about other people infront of you. [[ if that makes sense?]] you have to be totally dedicated to becoming the person you want to be. no one likes a blabber mouth or a shit talker.

My bf lives out of state and he is coming to see me for valentines day. i am taking him dancing and i already have this very cute dress. I tried to scrunch my hair... which is what i want to do for valentines day but my hair wont stay. It is naturally straight and wont hold a curl no matter what. I have tried hairspray, gel and mousse. any ideas on how to get my hair to hold without getting a perm or going to a salon? Any particular products that work for you? I really want to scrunch my hair but it isnt holding. It will hold for about 1 minute then it will straighten back out.

This happened about a month ago, but it still bothers me. I was going out with this guy, we'll call him George. I didn't really like him that much, so I broke up with him after a month and a half. He acted like he was so heart broken, he even sent me a text saying "I'm trying to hard not to cry, I love you so much, I'm going to miss you." But later that day he asked out someone who I thought was my best-friend. I didn't find out about it until the next day when he starte rubbing it in my face saying "please don't be mad at me or her" and all this other shit. She tried to hide it from me because she didn't want any drama. I contronted her about it and this big argument erupted ending with her and I not being friends anymore.
To this day he still is staring at me as I pass him in the hall way and freaks out when he see's me outside of school.
She broke up with him 3 weeks later, and I honestly think she was just going out with him to get closer to her ex-boyfriend that just so happens to be his best friend.
It bothers me that someone I thought was my best friend just stabbed me in the back like that, not caring at all.
What should I do to make this stop bothering me?

for probably about a year now my dad has been screaming at my brother and i for the stupidest reasons and at this point im pretty sure that he is verbally abusing us (not physically or sexualy) like on friday i was going to my friends party and i told him to get ready in 10 minutes....7 minutes later i gave him a three minute warning and then when 10 minutes came up and i wanted to leave, he started screaming at me that i didn't tell him that we were leaving in there minutes i mean i was crying to death and he was about to take me to this party, but saying no you didnt tell me your a liar!!! but screamed it and he started making this whole drag about it and i started to cry my mom was right there on my side, she was mad at him for actually going through all this crap. So then i waited by the car and at this point i didn't want to go but my mom offerend to take me there, while my dad came outside and my mom was getting her phone he apporached me like he was going to hit me or strangle me i started hyperventalating and crying but he didn't he then went around and went to his car and left. A couple of hours later he came home before i did from the party that my mom took me. But a second time if he makes a statement to my brother, my dad would scream why didn't you answer me!!! answer me now!! and it wasn't a question or anything, and when he screamed it i was in shock for about three hours cause i was just really scared i talked about it with my friend shes like talk to him, but i did and he just argues with me. So on monday i want to talk to the school psycologist but i think there going to make a huge deal about it. but do you think based on what i've told you hes being verbally abusive.

okayy. like. its not good to exsersize be4 you go to bed cause like your heart is going really fast then when u go to bed it like slows down which isnt good cause like your heart rate isnt supose to change so dramtically and you could die.
