Is God only a pure and loving God who does positive things in our life when we trust in Him and give Him our lives?
I have very bad anxiety. I've seen therapists and have taken pills for it, but it affects my relationship with God greatly because, I've always been scared of life-threatening illnesses or disfigurements... or something just happening to me that will keep me from finding love or being married... or just being able to live my life to its fullest.
I'm scared that if I trust God and hand my life over to Him that something along those lines will be His plan for me.
Does God hurt people like that? The people I see in wheelchairs... or the people burned on over 90% of their body... is that the work of God? Or the devil? Or... humans...?
Is God only responsible for the good and pure? Or does he cause harm as punishment? Or... because it's someone's plan?
I'm very scared of this. Every day I am scared.
I want to be able to love and trust God fully... but I need to know that he won't hurt me like this if I trust him.
Why do terrible things happen to good, God-fearing Christians? What causes that?
Thank you.
Just because something seems bad doesn't mean it is. Maybe for YOU it seems bad, but for that person it could have been the best thing to happen to them or it could just be plain old bad. I don't think you can walk around with the attitude that the Devil did this and God did that. Because "bad stuff" happens to everyone. I can guarantee you that something bad has happened in your life. Maybe you caught a cold, maybe you tripped and fell, maybe you had a boyfriend/girlfriend break up with you, maybe you lost a family member and that made you hurt. Life happens. Whether God did it or the Devil did it totally depends on your religious beliefs but if you look at the story of Job in the bible, the Devil did it but God ALLOWED it to happen. Now Job was lucky cause he got everything back but this does not happen to everyone. Children die every day...babies, and it's not because they are not a good Christian or don't love God enough. You have to allow your life to happen. It's hard, I go through anxiety too, but if you give your life over to God and something "bad" does happen, then you are going to hate God for the rest of your life. I think a good way to view things is that everything happens for a reason. The good and the bad. Think about all of the people who were God loving people that jumped in front of a car to save a child. They might have died or ended up in a wheel chair, but I don't think they would have regretted it one bit. And because that happened, does that mean God was punishing them? Are they not a hero now? What you should do is focus on doing things like meditation (like how Jesus meditated on the word of God) and eating healthy and taking vitamins to calm your mind that way you won't have so much anxiety. Hope I helped some.
my parents make me go to church, even though they know i don't believe in organized religon. we go to a unitarian universalist church but even though it's a very open type of place i still don't like it. i think i could be doing much better things with my time, like clipping my toenails or doing my homework. they claim that it's "family time." how sitting in an uncomfortable pew listening to a reverend is family time, i dont know. How can i get them to understand that this whole "going to church" thing does NOTHING for me??
thanks,
~heart.
I know you might not like this answer, but I will have to agree with your parents. You may not be into religion or church or whatever, I'm not big into it, I don't go to church. I am into studying my own thing and finding my own way...but quality time is irreplacable. My mom used to make me sit and watch boring movies with here and watch oprah haha which I didn't used to like...but it was quality time, my cousin didn't get that. She was always in her room doing her own thing and her mom doing her own thing and on the phone. She grew up to pretty much hate her mom and hate being with her, where as me and my mom have a closer relationship than ever. You may not see it now but you will see it maybe after college. When you are like 23 or 25 or maybe not even until you are 30. They are not here forever and they will not always be at your disposal, so the time you can have together you should enjoy. My mom lost her mom just when they were starting to get close. That was really hard on her, and as silly as it sounds if they had done things like watch boring "old people" movies together, or went to chruch together and maybe had lunch or ice cream after, then she would not have had to regret not having time with her. So when you go, try to look at it in a different light...more like I am going to spend quality time with my parents and not so much they are forcing religion down my throat. You don't have to believe it, just go to be with them and be with your family. I could go on about all the people that wish they could go to church with their families instead of what is going on in their life with the war and all the other stuff...but I'm sure you get the point. :)
I am 17 almost 18 and wishing to learn more about the religion so that I might practice it. Please only people with expierience with the religion only.
well i study buddhism and there is a book called "What the Buddha Taught by Walpola Sri Rahula" and this was the first book that the monks gave me to read. There is also one called "Buddhist Bibile" and that one is really good. I am not 100% sure about the title of the last one, but I will edit my answer tomorrow after I check. That is a really good one. That is where I suggest you start...and just work on understanding it. The next thing I worked on was the breath meditation where you sit and you focus on your body from top to bottom and then you just breathe in and out and focus only on your breath, if you start to think or your mind starts to wonder, you gently pull it back to listening to the breath and you work on doing this for an hour or more. The challenge from what we talked about was to have perfect quiet in the mind for at least 5 min which is pretty hard for me but you get better, the more often you do it the better. I just do it casually throughout the day. Here is the site to the monks I worked with, they have some cool chants you can listen to to meditate with... http://www.glbvihara.org/pirith4.html you can always call them too and ask to speak with sankicha and he will give you some good advice.
*It's called "A Buddhist Bible-Edited by Dewight Goodard, Introduction by Huston Smith. Also, adding to what the other person said...Talk to the monks and ask them to give you a rundown of what they believe, cause the basic principles are the same but different traditions teach different things...Like I know tibetians typically deal with multiple gods/buddhas...The monks I deal with don't deal with an All Mighty God...but they aren't athiest either, where as I have met monks that are athiest...then you have some that are ascetic. You gotta see what's right for you. :)
Can you help me figure this out?
I am a non-astral. However, about three weeks ago when I fantasized about my ex-boyfriend, my male ex-bosses and one male cousin - all of them very powerful men -no one ever defies them I started to feel them coming to me on an astral level to have s*xual int*rcourse . The thing is in the past I have fantasized about them but nothing like this has ever happened. So what do you think? I am not astral and don't want to be.
Here are some questions I need answers to:
(1) Can the astral punish or reward the non-astral and can you give me an example of how the astral can do that?
(2) Can the astral also become the guardian angels of the non-astral?
(3) What about my male cousin. He and I email one another. I told him I wanted to see the movie "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" and in the other emails he never would never mention s*x and in this particular response to my email to him last week he said "I would see a movie more uplifting something with s*x." Do you think he is also astral projecting to me as well and cluing me in when he mentioned s*x in the email. But my male cousin said he doesn't believe in Astral Travel, but do you think this is a cover I could have sworn at times I hear his voice as well - but not sure.
(4) Can these men talk to one another via astral? I mean they know one another when they are non-astral but can they communicate to one another astrally as well. And can I hear them when they do?
(5) What happens is I am lying on my stomach. All of a sudden I feel hands on my back and then it feels as if a real body is leaning up against me and then I feel f*ndling, f*ngering, e*tering i*to me and c*ming (sometimes a lot of s*man). Sometimes my stomach hurts a little after and I am extremely m*ist in my pr*vate part Can this happen?
(6) How can I actually tell if the astral is speaking to me telepathically and it is not my imagination running wild.
(7) Last night I felt someone getting into bed with me but no one was there.
ok well i am going to start of by saying that i am not going to answer all of your questions specifically, because you have a lot. I will though, give you some general info regarding what you have experienced and what i have experienced and read. First of all any and everyone can enter the astral plane. Most people say that we all do every night when we dream. There are those who think that remote viewing and astral travel are different, dreaming and astral travel are different, but the truth is they are all just states of mind and it totally depends on what you experience and how you precieve it. You can totally have sex with astral beings when you are in the astral. Yes it can be a relative or a complete stranger. If you would venture to think about it, maybe you and your cousin were lovers in a past life. Maybe that is why that connection is there, or it could just be purly physical. And yes, some people are intune and do or don't realize it. He may have had a dream about making love with you and doesn't know that you had the same thing, maybe he does. It is hard to say. There are different deminsions. I know that before i physically met my boyfriend, i visited him in the astral while he was at school to give him some sexual pleasure, around the time i was doing it, he had to go to the bathroom because he got hard from fantasizing about me. There have also been times where i was in the astral having astral sex and like you woke up wet. There have been times where I very specifically felt my self rubbing my self and when i woke up my hands were no where near my vagina. So yes you can feel those feelings and sometimes they are WAY BETTER than real sex. :)
Anyone can talk with anyone on the astral, the question is why would they? I don't think that they are meeting up on the astral to discuss the fact that they had astral sex with you...but the possibility is there, how will you ever know, unless you ask them and they are honest with you? :) I would say it's safe to assume that they are not conspiring about you. I have had many people come into bed with me in the astral. The problem is that some of them feel like they are there to violate you and some of them feel safe. Also I feel personally that if I am in a relationship, i do not want to be having astral sex with other men. I only do that when I am single, if I am concious enough to end it. So you have to make sure that the being you are sharing you self with is surrounded by love and comes in the name of love and your best interest. You can ask. If you don't want to, don't feel like you have to. If you do then go for it. I would suggest that you learn to controll it cause you don't want to go around exchanging energy with every being out there. It could drain you or one of their bad spirits could cling to you.
Everything really in some way is your immagination. But the best thing to do is to test it. ask something specific and then when you are in the real world as that person. Like ok...You are in the astral and you see your boss, say, "are you going to wear a blue tie tomorrow?" and if he says, "yes", then tomorrow see what color tie he is wearing. If it is blue, then you know some aspect of him self is communicating with you and it's not just your immagination. Try it a few times. You may get it right at first and you may get it wrong. Sometimes things are funny. But try it a few times. If you get a few right then chances are he or his higher self is communicating with you.
Ok, no one is going to punish you, but I am one of those very liberal people when it comes to God and the "godly beings" hahaha I truly believe they are there to help and guide you, they are not there to punish you. If you believe they will punish you, then perhaps if your belief is strong enough, something will come and do it, but i don't think it would be your guides. They may put your through tests that seem like punishment, but it is just something to help you to see the light or to learn, not to give you a "spanking" for having impure thoughts about your cousin, or anyone else for that matter.
I think your guardian angels are preset before you get here, they can apear in any deminsion, astral or 3d or anything, but i don't tink that you just like get close to someone in the astral and say can you be my guardian angel and they are like ok and then they are now your angel. But the truth is that pretty much anything can happen. It really depends on the individual. I have had a lot of things happen to me that books say are not possible. But I'm pretty sure that guardian angels are worked out before you get here. :) ok well i hope that helped. :) peace
I hope you got my message this time. I sent it from Gmail. Let me know as soon as you get it, even if you haven't read the body of the message yet. Thanks!
yup I did
what does it mean when people say you shouldnt take the lords name in vain?
Yeah and just to add to what they have said...In Vain directly means without effect or avail; to no purpose; in an improper or irreverent manner:
So if you are using God and you are not Praying or anything like that or blessing somenoe or talking about God then why are you saying it with no purpose, and no good purpose on top of that. Peace.
Adam and Eve were white right..? Then how did chinese/mexican/etc. people get here? And Adam and Eve didn't have any daughters..so did Cane and Able do it with their mom to keep the population growing?!
I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY THAT I AM REALLY PROUD! I AM REALLY PROUD OF THE WAY ALL OF YOU HAVE ANSWERED THIS PERSON'S QUESTION. WE HAVE COME A LONG BEAUTIFUL WAY IN SOCIETY.
WOW:
Adam and Eve hahah are so symbolic. There is like nothing else to say dude. They covered it. I just wanted to add my support. I think that what you learned here, you need to take it and run with it. I would do some research and find out what people believed before people started painting pictures of white Gods. White Gods aren't bad or not true, but the truth is, is that there is sooooo much more. I think that if you invest time into studying this stuff you will feel very fulfilled.
Is it possible to die in your dream? My brother told me that in his psychology class, his teacher said that it's impossible to die in your own dream, and if you do, it means you are dead. My friends are all "No way I've died in my dream before," but I don't believe them because I don't think you can be alive and dream about being dead and actually know what it feels like. Every time that I've had a dream where I was going to die, I would wake up the split second before I died. In one dream, I was in a car, and it went off a cliff, and right before I hit the bottom, I was crying and then I woke up with tears in my eyes. Also, how come I woke up with tears in my eyes from that dream?
Dude I have had dreams...I have had dreams where I was like almost in other people's bodies while they were being murdered, I have had dreams where I have been killed, I have had out of body experiences where I thought that I was not going to be able to get back into my body and said ok well I guess that is it and made my peace. I feel like, if it is your time to go then it is your time to go. Only you and the universe know when that time is. There are a lot of old people that pass away in there sleep and that is supposed to be the most peaceful way to go. The truth is that whether you are asleep or awake you are only going to go when it is time for you to go. So don't stress it.
I had a dream that I was driving off of a cliff and the last thought that I had was "well this is it..." and I hit the ground. I didn't feel any pain or anything, but while it was happening I thought it was real until I woke up. Your mental and your "soul" and your physical are all connected, so when one feels the others feel you dig? So if you are dreaming something really intense, you can wake up crying or in pain or bleeding. All kinds of stuff dude. Don't let them scare you though. Make peace with your dreams and start taking control of them.
hi well, okay lets see im a muslim girl. and i have a boyfriend....and i just wanna know the opinions of other muslim people out there about dating? sex before marriage? and of these other issues related to the drama teens face these days. also, how do you judge how 'muslim' someone is? please answer - if your muslim. any other comments are also appreciated.
I'm going to keep it real with you. If you love Aalah and you feel that Islam is your thing, then I would suggest that you pray to Aalah to give you strength, wisdom and guidence. I would say let your courage guide you. I was raised in a religion that had moral restrictions too...a lot of people were just getting married to have sex and that is so lame to me. This way to them and the religios community it was "ok". How is that truly ok though when your heart is not in the right place. On the real, if the dude is your soul mate and your true love, you all could be virgins or celebate for the rest of your lives and it wouldn't matter. Yeah it might make you a little sad but you would get over it cause love is about more than sex. Sex is apart of it yeah, but not all of it. Things have not changed at all, if you are strong in your mind it does not matter what the people around you say and do, all that matters is what you feel is right in your heart with God. I was a virgin until I was 20 going on 21. I didn't have a open mouth kiss until I was 19 and that was my choice. I spoke with God and prayed and when I felt it was ok, I did what I did. You gotta do the same thing. I don't know if you are the kind of Muslim that's family does arranged marriages, but my friend was in that kind of family. I would say if that is the deal that you pray to the universe to send you the most loving, special, beautiful and supportive man for you. This way even if it is arranged, you will have the love of your life.
As far as judging how "religiously commited" someone is, you pray for the truth to be shown to you, and that you will have the wisdom and accaptence to trust what you see and feel. When you pray for this you always see the truth. Try it. Peace.
Im not quite sure i understand why people wish at 11:11...help me understand please??????
and does your wish come true.
Ok this is the deal about 11:11
It is said that all the angels in heaven line up in heave and blow their horns at this time. This is why people wish at 11:11.
Here is some websites to check out on the subject:

What would I be called if I believed in God (singular), but didn't recognize any sort of prophet or holy book?
Thanks.
I mean yeah... I looked at what other people said and you know it all sounded cool. My thing is, I am quite like you. I feel like the universe talks to me and teaches me the things I need to do. There is no specific group that I follow. I don't think any one prophet is like the one and only and there is only one path or anything. I feel like, you don't have to lable your self at all. People always want to stick you in a box. Like you gotta be this or that, and if you can't build that box for them then they can't function. I think that you should just be you, if people ask you, yeah I believe in a God. I don't know if it's your God or not but you know it's my God and it works for me. I don't have a religion, I just do me. :) That's what I say. Call your self what you feel. Truly though, it's spiritual...it doesn't even need words dude. Peace.
