dreaming

Question Posted Saturday January 5 2008, 12:12 pm

Is it possible to die in your dream? My brother told me that in his psychology class, his teacher said that it's impossible to die in your own dream, and if you do, it means you are dead. My friends are all "No way I've died in my dream before," but I don't believe them because I don't think you can be alive and dream about being dead and actually know what it feels like. Every time that I've had a dream where I was going to die, I would wake up the split second before I died. In one dream, I was in a car, and it went off a cliff, and right before I hit the bottom, I was crying and then I woke up with tears in my eyes. Also, how come I woke up with tears in my eyes from that dream?

Dude I have had dreams...I have had dreams where I was like almost in other people's bodies while they were being murdered, I have had dreams where I have been killed, I have had out of body experiences where I thought that I was not going to be able to get back into my body and said ok well I guess that is it and made my peace. I feel like, if it is your time to go then it is your time to go. Only you and the universe know when that time is. There are a lot of old people that pass away in there sleep and that is supposed to be the most peaceful way to go. The truth is that whether you are asleep or awake you are only going to go when it is time for you to go. So don't stress it.
I had a dream that I was driving off of a cliff and the last thought that I had was "well this is it..." and I hit the ground. I didn't feel any pain or anything, but while it was happening I thought it was real until I woke up. Your mental and your "soul" and your physical are all connected, so when one feels the others feel you dig? So if you are dreaming something really intense, you can wake up crying or in pain or bleeding. All kinds of stuff dude. Don't let them scare you though. Make peace with your dreams and start taking control of them.

well you can die in your sleep if you body goes into shock which isnt very likely because youll be unconcious the reason you woke up crying was because it felt real .

usually before something like that happens in your dream you wake up
exapmle: if you're falling, you wake up the second you hit the ground
but ive never actually died in my dream
it could be possible, anything really is
don't woory about the dream thing, usually dreams work in strange ways
ive seen people smile while dreaming and even laugh so if you are crying its okay
its a psycology thing

**This is my 2000th answer!!!**

Yes, I have died in my dreams. Many times. My dreams are usually from a third person perspective(I look down on myself), so when I die I see myself die. The dream usually ends soon after that, but sometimes my perspective starts following a different character in my dream for a while.

I've never died in a first-person perspective, so maybe that is rare. I doubt it's impossible.

you can't really die in your dream but I have before but I woke up rite when i did. Dreams are confusing but you think them in your sleep. So if you think your dead in your dream for real you probably stopped thinking and you are dead. If your dead before your dream starts and your in heaven then your not dead.I think. It's hard to really know about dreams

everyone has the falling-off-a-cliff dream. and usually, everyone wakes up right before they die. it's weird how dreams work that way. i'm not completely sure, but i don't think you can die in your dream. your friends may have been mistaken. and about the tears in your eyes thing, its probably because your dream felt so real that you thought it might have been. it's kinda like sleep walking, you can cry in your dream and wake up crying, it's happened to plenty of people.
