When they do an IV... does it hurt?
And how long does it take for you to be "put out"

I really dont like needles..
The IV feels like a regular blood test. You can ask the anesthesiologist beforehand to give you a numbing cream on your hand if you want to, though.
From the time they start the anesthesia, probably 10-15 seconds (that feel quite nice) that you can remember. Next thing you know, you're in the recovery room.
