DancinCutie08 answered Wednesday August 16 2006, 10:10 pm: well usually they give you meds to make you really drowsy before you get the IV and by that time you can't even really walk.. its like you are really drunk. You may remeber bits and pieces of it but you won't feel it and if yuo do you will be so drowsy that you won't care
and they don't knock you out during the surgery.. They acually just make you extremely drowsy so that you fall asleep and they numb you because gereral anestesia can be dagerous not to mention that its hard to do surgery on your teeth when there are tubes down your throat breating for yuo

Moop answered Wednesday August 16 2006, 8:52 pm: you can actually have the anaestegiolist use regular laughing gas to knock you out before inserting an IV and beginning the surgery. that's how I had my wisdom teeth pulled and it was completely painless. karlyndarlin05 answered Wednesday August 16 2006, 8:34 pm: um well. i had an iv when i had knee surgery. and it kinda hurt at first cuz they give you a shot to numb it. and it might be kinda scary. im scared of needles too. but after they put it in it just feels kinda weird. but it doesnt hurt. and i dont know what they are doing to put you out for wsdim teeth...but i just had to take a few breaths of this stuff and it put me out in like 5 seconds.
