It feels like a shot, and some people ( I am one of them) actually feel some burning when the medication runs through their veins. Even so, you'll be out within 30 seconds.

well usually they give you meds to make you really drowsy before you get the IV and by that time you can't even really walk.. its like you are really drunk. You may remeber bits and pieces of it but you won't feel it and if yuo do you will be so drowsy that you won't care

and they don't knock you out during the surgery.. They acually just make you extremely drowsy so that you fall asleep and they numb you because gereral anestesia can be dagerous not to mention that its hard to do surgery on your teeth when there are tubes down your throat breating for yuo

i always thought they knocked you out too until the doctor told be

but anyways it only takes a few mins

you can actually have the anaestegiolist use regular laughing gas to knock you out before inserting an IV and beginning the surgery. that's how I had my wisdom teeth pulled and it was completely painless.

um well. i had an iv when i had knee surgery. and it kinda hurt at first cuz they give you a shot to numb it. and it might be kinda scary. im scared of needles too. but after they put it in it just feels kinda weird. but it doesnt hurt. and i dont know what they are doing to put you out for wsdim teeth...but i just had to take a few breaths of this stuff and it put me out in like 5 seconds.

The IV feels like a regular blood test. You can ask the anesthesiologist beforehand to give you a numbing cream on your hand if you want to, though.

From the time they start the anesthesia, probably 10-15 seconds (that feel quite nice) that you can remember. Next thing you know, you're in the recovery room.
