advice

i've smoked pot like 3x with a "bowl" thing. . . uhm but for some reason i can always think clearly like i feel sorta weird but i can still think well. maybe i'm enhaling wrong? . . is there a proper method? ahhaa.

Obviously we cannot tell you what to do, since smoking pot is illegal. However, I have heard from acquaintances [no this is not a cover for it being me- I don't smoke pot and I never will] that you don't get high your first few times.

However, I know nothing about it, and obviously I do not advocate smoking pot. But, it is your life, and thus I cannot make the decision for you. You do as you please. ;]

My best guy friend isn't much of a reader but I'm the biggest bookworm alive. He use to tease me about reading all the time but one day at Borders, he turned to me and said, "You know what? I'm gonna start reading a lot like you do. I need to get educated with literature. Since you're good with books, pick out a book for me to read and we can read it together." Well, the big secret is I've had a very big crush on him for 4 years now and I think there's something there that he feels, too. I wanted to take this opportunity to write the story how we met and end it to admit my feelings for him and then I'm going to print this story and give it to him as the first book I chose for him to read as a surprise. I've been trying so hard for weeks now but I can't think of an interesting or cute opener. I can finish off the ending easily but the beginning I have come up with is as primitive as "There was this girl who met this boy when she was 14 and then she liked him." That doesn't sound interesting at all.

Any ideas to make it sound better?

First off, I want to say that this made me think "Oh my goodness, how cute!" and I seriously almost cried because it was so sweet =].

I'm a writer, too, and I guess that's why I'm so heartfelt with this question.

You could always start with something comedic, maybe? Like this:

In a world where people fall in love, one girl fell hard.

Haha, sorry. I'll be more serious with the rest of my suggestions:

When I was 14, I thought I knew myself. But there was one person who changed my views on everything, love included. He was the most perfect guy...

I find it rather hard to believe one could fall in love at such a young age, but one boy proved me wrong. He wasn't just a boy, he was special...

Maybe those can get you started ;]

Good luck!

I would LOVE to read your story when you're done =]

From there:
First- I'm going to tell you that relationships aren't all they are cracked up to be. Sure- they are fun having someone to share things with and be with. But they involve a huge commitment and if you end up with someone who is clingy- they'll want to be with you every minute of every day- and you might not have time for friends or anything else you want to do. I say this because one of my ex-girlfriends was sort of like that- and got mad if I was busy with other plans.. and it was just really retarded.

Anyway- the best way to attract a guy is to be yourself. If you try to change yourself just to get a boyfriend [especially at your age]- you'll just end up with someone who only likes you for what you've become- not who you are. If you be yourself- and don't change- you'll attract more guys who actually care about your personality rather than just your looks.

I myself like any type of girl. I honestly don't judge looks as much as I do personality. If a girl is absolutely stunningly beautiful, but she's a bitch- why would I like her? What would our relationship be? What would we talk about? Her latest hair extensions? Yeah- that would be REALLY nice *Sarcasm: Party of one!*...
If a girl has a really nice personality- and she's really outgoing and sweet and nice and smart- and she's not necessarily the best looking girl- but she's not super unattractive- then I'll most likely want to date her over the beautiful bitch.

Do you get what I'm saying? If you let guys see your personality more than your looks- you'll end up with someone great. Trust me- most guys prefer personality over looks- they just don't know it yet =].

Alright, So i'm a 16 year old female.
I have to pee ALL the time. atlesat once an hour, i can pee once, then have to go a few minutes later..
it's getting worse too.

i dont know what's wrong with me, i know i should go see a doctor & my dad agrees too but i dont know if my mo will take me- i dont think she thinks its a problem.

what will they do if i do go?

also, i've been getting stomach aches arndomly
and if i dont eat every so often, i get sorda dizy & weak & i dont want to eat then at all, even though onc ei do i feel MUCH better..
that could be something diffrent though, like the summer heet or anything.

i'd just like some ideas, if you've gone througha nything like this or if you know someone who has

(its not recenteither- its been happening for years, it WAS NEVER THIS BAD THOUGH, ITS GETTING WORSE)

btw- im not sexually active & im a virgin.

Please, GO TO THE DOCTOR!

I know your mother doesn't think it's serious, but this sounds very serious to me. If your mom won't take you, have your dad take you.

None of this sounds very good. And especially since it's been going on for years.

And you should poop at least once a day, or at least once every other day. Only once a week is not healthy.

Please go see a doctor.

uhm, hi. my name is penelope and i live in florida. i have many friends that are boys (hehe like boyfriends, but not boyboyfriends if you get what i mean :) *chuckle*) but there are three gentelmen that particularly stand out in my head. which one do i choose? they are all very terrific homosapiens with such brilliant personalities and attitudes. i will describe each boy to you and how my friendship is with them. i'm sorry that this letter i am adressing to you is getting to be so lengthy, but i need another solution instead of liking all three of them just because i don't want to have a horrid name such as slut, whore, or skank ruin my reputation of the most intelligent gal in the class. enough of my babbling, let's continue...

boy number one:
this boy is one of my best friends in the world. that is a very bad thing in a way because what we have between us is just oh so very sacred and i would not want to sacrifice that. he is tall, and when i look into his eyes they just draw me into him more and more. we have a similar taste in music, which is our main topic during most conversations. he is athletic, he is an incredible soccer, basketball, and baseball player. we are constantly fighting, and constantly missing each other and ending making everything alright. his friends are groovy ; i like to be with them and him. this boy is utterly stunning.

boy number two:
boy number two. hehe he is a really cute boy, very sensitive, and always focuses on what is most important in life. he is a little bit shorter than me, but that doesnt matter anymore. he can be a mommas boy and he doesn't have too many friend. oh, yes, he is one AMAZING dancer. its quite attractive. he is a star football player (perfect to go along with the star cheerleader!) and we always have fun together.

boy number three:
this boy and i were very close throughout our elementary school years. he had left the public school to attend a catholic school for the most enhanced learners. he was about my height the last time i saw him, and i miss him terribly. on the day of our departure, we hugged and we were the first two people of our class to do that. i know i have moved on, but in a way i miss him and i wonder if there is really anything still left between us?

so, yes. i need you to select one and explain your choice. thankyou.

I just have to say it was rather fun to read this. I completely admire your vocabulary =]

So I would say you should steer clear of number one, because you said you wouldn't like to ruin your friendship, and dating him might.

So I guess it's between the last two. You said you've always had a thing with number three, so why don't you try it out? Then again, he seems to have moved? That may be a problem.

I would say go for number two. He sounds like a genuine person and he could be a lot of fun ;]

im scared about starting high school, what should i do?

http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=504785

From there:
Hello.

I was a freshman two years ago- and I have to say.. it was one of the most scary things I've EVER experienced! I was thrown in the trash can on the first day and it was horrible. Some kid even had to go to the emergency room! It was the WORST first day of school of my entire life! I almost didn't go back!

Haha- so hopefully you didn't take that seriously- because it really wasn't like that at all. I always play that trick on people who ask this question. C'mon- I gotta have a little fun! High school is NOT scary. It actually is a lot more fun. You have more freedoms than middle school and you can take REALLY awesome classes. If you have to chance to take a Speech class- DO IT! You think it will be the dumbest class ever and you'll be really bored- but you get the chance to get really good at speeches- and you'll learn really awesome things! When you get to be a Junior/Senior- take AP and Honors classes- these will impress colleges and they will want you to go to their college if you do well enough on them.

People may tell you that Freshmen year doesn't count for anything- so slacking off won't matter until you're an upperclassmen. This is wrong. Colleges will look at your cumulative GPA- and that includes your freshmen year. Don't slack off; you'll regret it later.

Just to debunk the rumor- There is NOT a "Freshmen Friday". Sure, this used to exist back in the 60s and 70s, but it doesn't anymore. Any school that actually still does it will probably end up getting sued by a bunch of parents. So most don't do it. Chances are, your high school won't do it.

Here is my list of DOs and DON'Ts:

Do:
-Do all of your homework.
-Make new friends [some old ones will naturally just fade away] and do this by just starting up simple conversations with people- and it will eventually lead to a great friendship. Ask someone you may want to get to know for a pencil in class.. that's a classic. Sit with new people at lunch.
-Ask the teacher for help if you need it.

Don't:
-Don't talk to seniors.. they most likely DON'T like you. The won't give you any respect.
-Don't wear revealing clothing- seniors will automatically hate you.

All in all- if you just be yourself- you'll be fine. If you have upperclassmen in any classes- you'll get to know them over the course of the year- and you may end up meeting some really great people. I know that some of my best friends I met at school last year- and most of them were 10th grade or older. Not all seniors hate you- some will be welcoming- but just assume the worst in them, at first. After awhile- you'll know who to avoid and who to warm up to. You'll be fine. Don't worry.

its not relly adivce but i was just wondering about some of our advice columists and if they can answer me on this.

what do you like to do for fun? other then hanging out hehe.

what are you interest?

who would you like to meet?

describe yourself in a paragraph.

I know its dumb but i was just curious and its a really easy question that id love to just get input on.

1. I read, write my book[s], come on Advicenators, and hang out with my family and friends.

2. Reading, writing my book[s], coming on Advicenators, playing with my cat, going to school! =O

3. I would like to meet the band Relient K, because I want to know how they come up with such sweet music. Oh, and Bryce Avary because his music is really inspiring. I swear he helped me get an A on my English exam, because we could listen to music and I listened to his CDs over and over again ;]

4. I'm Jack. I'm pretty religious. God is everything to me, without him, I wouldn't even be here. I'm SIXTEEN years young. I know everyone says this, but I don't feel old at all. I'm currently single and I plan to stay that way until college, though recent events have me questioning this philosophy. I like slow and fast-paced music, texting, drawing random pictures with stick figures, laughing, eating food, drinking water, learning, doing Chemistry, speaking Spanish, making birthday cards at the last minute, wearing a watch, meeting new people, awkward silences, acting, speaking with a British accent, making corny jokes, making lame puns, collecting the state quarters, reading, writing poetry, thinking of places I'd rather be than South Lyon, praising the Lord each and every day, and just being myself. You don't know the half of me until you've spent at least an entire day with me alone. You'll also notice I use an overwhelming amount of smilies when I talk to you, and sometimes you'll get annoyed with that ;]. I talk a lot. I will do pretty much anything to make you laugh and I find humor in pretty much everything. I enjoy life to the fullest and I try to not let people get me down. I listen and observe. I find any excuse to laugh at myself, which I believe is something everyone should be able to do.

I just got back from a holiday with my friends and have around 100 photographs (actual prints, not digital) which I took. I want to display them somehow but I already have several photocollages on my walls. Does anyone have any suggestions for interesting/fun ways I can put them up?

I agree with the scrapbook idea. Yes, it's not putting it up for display, but you said you already have several photo collages on your wall, so why not try something different?

only search advicenators.com

That search will help you find easy tips on how to scrapbook, and an entire scrapbook should have about 100 pictures.

I only know all of this because my mom is an avid scrapbooker ;]

so, this is gonna sound really stupid, but i've been wondering ..do you pay tuition before the college year starts or do you have to have the money by the end of the year?

Generally, they have you pay the tuition before the year/semester starts.

They don't want you having free classes ;]

i have a big problem here. im going into highschool this year and i havent had a girlfriend in such a long time. the last time i had a girlfriend was back in december and it was a girl in a lower grade then me. and i have lots of friends and everything and i guess im popular. ive mad friends with pretty much all the attractive girls. and if i would ask any of them out they all say "were too good of friends" and dont even give me a chance. it makes me so frustrated. i think they are lying to me and just saying that as an excuse. ive tried changing myself so they will like me but it doesnt work. i think its because im fat. i think im fat. i just want to know why none of my friends will date me?? it makes me so sad and it makes me want to give up

Hey.

I just want you to know that you're not alone. When I was in middle school, I pretty much liked all of my girl friends, and none of them wanted to date me because we were "too good of friends". And honestly, they were right. Of course, I didn't realize it then, and I thought that there was something wrong with me. Then as we started to grow up, a few of them told me that they wish they would have dated me back then, or how good of a boyfriend I would be, etc.

And I had to laugh. Because if I had dated them, it would have just ended badly anyway, like all of my relationships thus far. So I guess what I'm telling you is don't be in such a rush to get a girlfriend. I know it can be so thrilling and exciting, but when it ends badly, you start to reexamine dating completely. You're only 14 and you have many years ahead of you left to date. Don't feel like you have to now, because sometimes all it does is bring unnecessary pain, and trust me, dude, that's not something you need. Been there and done that.

If your ankle is still swollen from LAST year, I would immediately go to the doctor and have them check it out.

That's really my only advice to you. The doctor will know what they're talking about/doing.

Hi, I'm going for a job interview this week for the first time! It's only at a grocery store, so it's not at a big place, and I am 16. I was just wondering what kind of questions the interviewer will ask, what I should bring with me, etc.

So any tips or experiences would be great =]

Hello =]

Well, always stay confident, or at least, always make it seem like you're confident. Always have a smile on your face, but not a creepy one ;].

When you first walk into the interview, shake the interviewer's hand, and introduce yourself, though I'm sure they already know your name from their papers.

Answer the questions thoroughly; don't answer with just yes or no, unless that's appropriate.

Never be rude or say mean things to the person, though I doubt you would do that ;].

Be professional. Don't use slang terms or words which won't be understood by the interviewer. Even if they are your age, don't use teenage slang =].

When you're done, THANK the person for their time. They have taken time out of their day to graciously interview you, so let them know you appreciate that.

Always keep eye contact, and stay focused. But relax! You'll do fine =].

can u get an std from giving a hand job ?

You can get an STD from any form of sexual act, including hand jobs. Yes, the chances are slimmer, but please, in order to prevent getting STDs, use protection, even when doing that.

What should I do if: I met a woman several months ago. She has 3 kids. At firse we got along. But shortly after she met me, things changed. You see, I showed her a Cook Book where I have prize winning entrys. I also told her I've published graphics for Smiley.com At the moment, she did not say anything. Then I learned she is sending e-mails to me, my family, and friends in the community claiming I'm a Liar
about the accomplishments I told her about.

She also wanted the name of my copyright attorney and she also wanted to know other stuff. Finally,
she started declaring to everyone I'm a liar about everything. I have consulted an attorney and he said she could be sued for slander.

So my question is (1.) What do you make of anyone who would falsely claim you're lying when in fact, you aren't. I have tons of Court papers, publishing contract's, award certificates, and other proof. Strangely enough, she never wanted to see my proof, yer she's telling everybody I have no credential's. So (2.) Could she be sizing me up for money? (3.) An attorney told me I could sue her. (4.) Should I have my attorney let into her to teach her a lesson?

Please let me know.

Persey Harris
Publisher

I don't know much about legal stuff, but if your lawyer/attorney says that you could sue her, and it's really affecting you, then do it.

I personally can't stand it when people don't believe me, especially when I'm telling the truth about an accomplishment. So I don't blame you.

I would leave everything for the court room- don't have your attorney confront her or anything.

Good luck ;]

So i went out with this boy who was a good friend befor we went out for like 2 years. i broke up with him because everyone was on my back about how we never kissed or went on dates. this had of been the biggest mistake of my life! a few months ago i asked if i could have a second chance that i had make a huge mistake and he said no. we are closer friends then ever now but i want more then that. and two weeks after i asked him out again he went out with another girl 2 years older then him and never told me they were going out! what should i do? ireally want him back.

He's moved on. He has a girlfriend, and he's made it obvious that he doesn't want to get back together with you. All that you can do now is get over him, and I know that may sound harsh/mean/rude or whatever, but you can't force him out of the relationship he's currently in.

Here's a few websites that can help you learn how to get over him:

http://ezinearticles.com/?How-To-Get-Over-Him---Quickly&id=345015
http://www.ivillage.co.uk/relationships/couple/split/articles/0,,152_680788,00.html
http://en.allexperts.com/q/Breakup-Deal-Break-845/x-73.htm

I guess you could always wait until he breaks up with his current girlfriend, to see if he changes his mind, but I don't recommend that.

heyyy..ok so my best friend and i are both on varsity cheer at sour school..and were a lot alike in our personalities, and our talent level like for tumbling and just everything..and she gets REALLY competitive with me. to the point where she doesnt even talk to me at tumbling or at practice. i dont know what to do because i admit im kinda jealous of her and shes clearly jealous of me but its kind of hurting our friendship and it makes me really upset. do you know anything i could do? thanks...

Just talk to her. Tell her that getting competitive with each other is really stupid. Admit you're jealous, and ask if she is, too, but not in a tone which suggests you think she is. Ask her if you two can act like friends at practice and such, because it will be much more fun for the both of you if you don't get competitive with each other. If she doesn't understand, maybe she isn't a very good friend...
