So, your ankle is still swollen even though you twisted it 7+ months ago? Are you sure you just twisted it? I'm guessing it was sprained.. Was it quite severe? Is there any chance you could have broken it?
..You should go and show your doctor and explain how long you've had it. Generally, they shouldn't last more than 4-6 weeks at most.
They'll check there's no permanent damage to your ligaments and see if it's normal.

For now: RICE.
Rest, ice, compression, elevation.

If your ankle is still swollen from LAST year, I would immediately go to the doctor and have them check it out.

That's really my only advice to you. The doctor will know what they're talking about/doing.

If you have not seen a doctor about it again then first i would do that. But my dad has twisted his ankle so many times that it is always swollen. I would talk to your doctor about it.
