i weigh 121 and my mom weighs about 125. what i dont understand is that i wear a size 3/4 in pants and she wears a 7? how is this possible? she looks bigger then me when i look at her but then every time we weigh were only about 4 pounds different! i dont get this. someone please explain to me how this is possible

ok so basically i'm sick.....ugh..
well i have 2 questions
1. i've been blowing my nose like crazy and now the bottom of my nostrils are really sore and raw, what can i put on it to make feel not as sore?
2. today and tomorrow are TAKS days, i keep so i have 2 go 2 school, today i was coughing and coughing and coughing. i couldn't stop. well the teacher said i was disturbing the class with all my coughing. =,(!!! well what can i do to stop my coughing without taking cough syrup?

Ahhhh, sorry to read that your sick. Hmm, for your first question. To make your nose all betters, put some ointment, or bacentration stuff on your nose, i know, it might be gross, but ay, it works. Try to use super soft tissues so that your nose doesnt get sorer. And as for the coughing, deffinitly try sucking on some Halls Cough drops. Tell your teacher its not your fault that your sick. Let her know that your a little under the weather before class, and that you can stay home. I'm not sure what TAKS days, but I'm assuming their important. ew. so at night like when I go and lye down in bed, my palms and bottoms of my feet get all sweaty and its weird. I'm not hot im actually kinda cold, but its just my palms and feet. What can I do to stop this? Its annoying even like typing on the computer right now sucks cause im all sweaty. *sigh*

Sweaty feet and hands can be caused by many different things. Mostly, right now I can help you out with your feet. Sweaty feet are probably caused by over-active sweat glands. Sweat glands on the soles of feet { and the palms of your hands} respond mostly to emotion, metal, or emotional stress. To solve this problem. Wash your feet in the morning and evening in soapy water, in a warmish water, not hot.Then dry them. Put some baby powder, some other type of powder and then put a fresh pair of socks on. Try not to wear the same pair of shoes each and every day. If you only own one pair of shoes, change your socks during the day. And, if you play a sport after school, change your socks before practice.Hope I helped! Happy Spring!

my life is so dull right now. i feel like everyday is for nothing. wake up go to school, learn crap i dont care about, laugh a few laughs, go to soccer, come home eat a little, hw, talk to a few friends, then bed. and same thing over and over. and i feel like whats life if i do the same thing everday. and i mean idk where my life is going its boring right now and idk what to do to "spice it up". and i'm not the greastes soccer player ever..i'd like to think i'm good. i'm not the thinnest person or beatuful..at least i don't think i am. and i havn't had a crush in like 3 months and my life is so dull right now. i want a speical guy in my life. i've been waiting for so long nothing. and my life is so dull right now...

i just don't understand? all i want is a better life and i've tired but it just isn't working. and the whole bf part its not like i'm searching or crushing on ever guy. he's just not there.

Ahhh. This happens to most teenagers. Your life is dull right now which means it hasn't been this dull in the past years? I suggest join a club, meet new people, hang out with friends more often. You just need to get out their. Pardon my language, but yeah, schools a bitch, but whatever you want to be in life, school is going to help you get their. Not everyone is the best at everything, im sure, with a bit of determination with soccer, you can get what you feel is a great soccer player. If you need any ways to improve with soccer, leave one in the inbox. Now, about your other part of your question. Its perfectly fine that you dont have a crush right now, it just means you havent found the right guy. You do not need a boyfriend to be happy, or spice up your life. okay so today i got a comment on myspace from this guy i went out with awhile ago... he said he missed me and he thought i should know.. then i told him 'i miss you too, but idk why you would miss me' (which is sort of something i say to him when he says he misses me because idk i just do..) i also asked how he was... ANYWAY he says back to me "uh how about because you're probably the most amazing person I've ever met.. it still stands too. and I'm alive.. how are you" this made me think he likes me again... the thing is i have a bf. i really dont want to hurt anyone.. i care for this guy but i dont want him to like me! i don't want to hurt him..... do you think he likes me? what should i do?

Yeah, it seems to me that this guy likes you. You should just let him like you. Thats what happens sometimes. People like people that are already taken a lot. If he continues to seem like he likes you a lot. Just remind him kindly that you have a boyfriend now. Hope I helped! Happy Spring!

I was suppost to get my period Friday and it's Sunday and still hasn't come. Is this normal? I got my firt period during summer so is it still irregular? I usually get it every 28 days but it's late for some reason. Is this normal?

Yes its normal! No worries! Sometimes your period cycles change, it doesn't mean anythings wrong, unless your period doesnt come...at all, for months, then you should go to a doctor. Its totally normal though. Hope I helped! Happy Spring!

ok so I love my b.f, I do, we have our issues, like majorly but I'm still, for some unknown reason, crazy about him. Now, there's this senior (I'm a freshmen btw) and I've fallen completely head over heels for him. It's not just another one of those "oh he's older and he's so cute" crushes. He is extremly intelligent, cute, helpful, and sweet. He is unlike ne guy I've ever met. We talk every single day and seriously, he can make me smile just by looking at me. I don't know what to do! Every one else can tell I like him but I deny it and I don't know if he knows but I hear it's kind of obvious and even my bf seems to know but he doesn't care at all, he thinks it's funny! I am soo confused!! I like the senior so much it hurts but Idk how to stop liking him. I'm soo confused, Please help!

Well, you can't go out with this guy and your boyfriend, because that would be just wrong. If you want to have a relationship with this other guy, then maybe you should go for it. Its good to date different guys, to figure out what you want in the future. This current boyfriend seems like a nice guy, but if your having issues, why continue it? I'm a 17 year old female and my prom is tomorrow night. I don't have a date, but I'm going with my best friend and another friend of hers (this was planned from about mid-year).

My problem is that I can't dance to save my life. I can follow if it's a slow song, but I can't dance to anything fast. I just wasn't gifted with rhythm I guess. It's too late to learn now and I'm not willing to embarrass myself so here's my question:

What if someone asks me to dance? How do I say no without being rude or giving them the idea that I'm not or could never be into them. If I'm into the guy or interested, I don't want him to get the wrong idea and just walk away.

I know "No, thank you" isn't rude, but I don't think I could say that to someone. I don't want the guy to feel rejected. I may sound conceited, and if I do I don't mean it. I know being rejected by me wouldn't ruin the guy's evening and I probably won't get asked anyways, but I want to be prepared with something.

I have the same problem! I can't dance for my life. If a guy asks you to dance, just tell him straight out that your terrible at it. He'll think its adorable probably, and go on about how he can show you how to dance. And, just go with it. The only thing you need to know about slow dancing is to just move your feet back and forth. The guy should lead you in the dance, its way easier then fast dancing. With fast dancing, just move your legs around, and do a little arm waving. um. in like, all of my classes, i have all popular people. & yes. they exist. so please don't answer saying, "you are being a bitch. you shouldn't be so mean to your friend just cause she's not 'cool enough' for you." okay.

so, on the first day of school in sept., i walked into one of my classes & i realized. omg. it's ALL popular people. and i knew NO ONE. seriously. i was terrified. so i saw this girl. i had no idea who she was, but i said hi cause one of my other friends knows her. & she said hi. ok. big mistake.

she's been SO clingy. like seriously. everytime i see her, she is like having a spaz attack! she's like
"OMYGOSH" ALL the time. it's SO irritating! & all the popular people make fun of her. like cause she wears her hair up in a ponytail EVERYDAY. & she has the worst closet... it's not that she's ugly or she's fat or anything, but she's just really uncool. she hasn't hit puberty yet... & she doesnt like ANY guys or think ANYONE is hot! she's flat as a piece of paper, and hasn't had her period yet.

& she has no idea that she's uncool. like she knows it exists & everything, and we talk about people, but she just doesn't get that she can't come up to me SPAZZING everytime she sees me! well lately i've been trrrrying to keep my cool & not really talk to her like, 24/7 (she's in 5/8 of my classes). but still. she sees me and she comes up to me, throws her hands up, and goes, "OH MY GOSH" and i'm like oh my god why are you such a spaz.

ugh, & i have no other friends in any of my classes. SERIOUSLY! the popular people are pretty nice to me and everything, but they have their own friends & i couldn't ever ask them to be my partner. i have a few guyfriends, but again, there are four of them and they always pair up :/ so i am ALWAYS stuck with that girl!

should i just suck it up until june? should i give her a makeover? i just want to turn her into me, into what my friends are like, into what everyone else is like. everything from handwriting to AIM to dressing correctly, make-up, hair, grades, being organized, not carrying 3259923048239023098 binders around & actually being able to carry it with only your right arm... etc. but like how do i do all that without her knowing it? i've tried talking to her about it, but she's just like, "i dont care" & im like WELL I DO CAUSE YOU ARE ALWAYS ON ME LIKE WHITE ON RICE!

You can't change her to be like you. Tell her shes bugging you a bit, and that is that. If your saying all this rude stuff about her, just tell her how it is so that you dont have to complain any more. She's her, and if you dont like it, its not her fault and you cant change that. These "popular" kids sound like assholes, and you shouldnt want to be one of them.

I'm having my braces removed in a couple of days. I'm concerned though, 'cause the dentist said that it's a 2-day process.

I got them on October 31st, 2005 (no candy for me that year, i know!). So it's been like 2 point something years so far. What should I expect during and after the removal? Blood? Weird nasty tastes?...Tooth decoloration? Pain?

Also, the dentist will file my teeth 'cause they're not all similar in length. Will that hurt or bleed or anything?

And is the switch from braces to a retainer a big jump? Did anyone get braces then retainers?

I'd like to know what it was like for you guys. If you haven't had them, it's ok, i'd still like to know what you think awaits me!

Its really not as bad as people would think. Just make sure you take 2 advils before you get them off, and after. No blood will appear when they are removed. Possibly some weird tastes, like the cement thats on your teeth. Tooth decoloration is a big possibility, and your orthodontist will probably recommend for you to get a kit that helps with that. Yes, their will be some pain most likey, the pressure of taking off your braces, but not much. The tooth file gives your teeths ome discomfort, i've had my teeth filed, and did not enjoy it, but its not that bad. It wont make your mouth bleed. Yes, going to a retainer is a big change, not a big jump though, the retainer isnt as bad as braces, no pain. lol. Everyone gets a retainer after braces. I'm 15, i still have my braces on. I got them on 4 years ago, so you can imagine how much I know about this. Hope I helped! Happy Spring.

I read your full story about this. You left out that you guys dated for 2 weeks in this question, which got me a bit confused lol. Alright so, this guy is 14, and your 16. You know your orientation, which is great, but this guy evidently doesnt. You probably said thatyou wished you never met him because you were really hurt that he didnt have feelings like you do for him. I say because he's young and is still confused, give him some time. Just let him know that you didnt mean what you said, and would still like to be friends, and if in the future he figures out his orientation, to let you know. Ok well i'm thinking about going to a concert soon, and i was just wondering if you would advise me to wear earplugs because i know that its going to be really loud in there, but is it better to wear ear plugs or not to?

It's good to wear ear plugs, but its not a bad thing if you don't. People that tend to go to a lot of concerts, should most likely wear ear plugs, because in the long run, it does affect your hearing. My poppy works in a garage with cars, and all the years of the loud noise made him deaf in one ear. But, dont worry, that wont happen to you by going to a few concerts. If it's a playful hit, then maybe yeah. Different girls show different ways of affection. Sometimes girls will playfully hit your shoulder, or give you hugs a lot, little stuff like that. 16/f so there's this guy that i really like... i'm about 80% sure that he likes me... i used to be 100% positive... but latly i don't know... well anyways me and him were supposed to get together over the weekend but he stood me up... and never called... so i decided to ignor him and just blow him off... but i really like him and it really makes my day when he hugs me or anything... but i don't want him to think that he can ever do this again... so what do i do? how can i teach him a lesson while being close to him?

Well today my friend found out her father has been shot and died. She isn't sure yet if it was suicide or someone else did it.

I feel like I'm not being a very good friend. Before you start calling me deadbeat friend listen to my story.

For a long time in our friendship she had told me and everyone her father had died on September 11 2001. He was working at the world trade centre. Then she came clean, she was being an attention seeker and that she had never met her father in her life.

And then today she's hysterical about her father's passing and I find out her father was actually in her life. I'm not ignoring her, or snobbing her off. She's in a very vunerable position and that is the wrong thing to do. But what is the right thing to do? Do I act like she hasn't lied to me all this time for my pity? Do I point it out? How am I supposed to comfort her when I thought she didn't have a father?

Evidently theirs a little truth issue there because of what she told you before. Just give her a hug, and apologize for her loss. Thats the easiest and nicest thing you can do for her, considering she's lied to you before. Lieing about a family members death is no joke, and its not cool to event hink it. Hope I helped! You have to soak your hands in acetone. My mom has had nails for years and years, and thats what shes learned. Then, go get a manicure to get everything cleaned up a bit. Hope I helped! Happy Spring!

I found out one of my cousins had a miscarriage after trying to have another baby. But what happens to the baby when it dies. Do doctors have to surgically remove the baby ... or does it just come out?

What happens if a teen purposley kills her baby, what happens to the baby then?

If there is a miscarriage then sometimes it comes out like a period, and other times they have to have a D and C which is a scraping of the uterus. If a teen purposly kills her baby, its against the law, and needs to seek professional help so she doesnt get an infection. I don't think you can get in trouble for purposly killing your baby, if it was born, and then you did, then theirs some problems there. Hope I helped! Happy Spring.
