Question Posted Wednesday April 11 2007, 12:52 am

Ok well i'm thinking about going to a concert soon, and i was just wondering if you would advise me to wear earplugs because i know that its going to be really loud in there, but is it better to wear ear plugs or not to?

If your gonna be near the speakers and upfront I'd bring them just in case...but most people don't wear them...I go to a lot of concerts and I've never seen anyone in the audience wearing earplugs...one night of loud music isn't gonna hurt your ears...if your going to one every night it might but just every once in a while it's not going to do much of anything...if your that worried about ear safety then wear them...but I don't suggest doing it

it's technically better for your ears if you wear earplugs around really loud things, but it doesn't actually matter since it's just one concert. you should really only wear earplugs if you have a previous ear problem, or if you are in the live music business and are around it every day. nobody else will be wearing earplugs there, so i'd say no. unless you're really paranoid about your ear safety, and even so, it's not much damage at all for just one night. i'd say no. i go to a lot of concerts and i've never worn earplugs. so unless you just really really want to, i'd say no.

Only wear them if you're close to the speakers.

Don't. If you wear ear plugs, you won't hear the music. You will, but not as loud. The best part of a show is hearing the concert as loud as possible. =)

Whenever I go to a concert, I stand/sit in the front as close to the artist as possible. Best for getting a good look, hearing them better, & getting good pictures & videos. =)

Well i think the musician will be a little offended (just joking), it actually depends on where you sit if it's towards the front maybe where them, but to tell you the truth i probably wouldn't because if your towards the front they usually touch your hands and give you more attention than others, and if you are towards the back you probably won't need them, and just in case you go and it turns out thet it is really loud either put them in your pocket to bring along or just put them in your purse or whatever you carry!

It's good to wear ear plugs, but its not a bad thing if you don't. People that tend to go to a lot of concerts, should most likely wear ear plugs, because in the long run, it does affect your hearing. My poppy works in a garage with cars, and all the years of the loud noise made him deaf in one ear. But, dont worry, that wont happen to you by going to a few concerts. I suggest you do wear earplugs, or bring them a long. Hope I helped! Happy Spring!
