Question:
This is for experts on current knowledge of hardware.
I have around 2000 to spend on a custom home made pc.And I'm wondering if anyone knows of the best hardware I could get for around that price like graphic cards and the lot.Don't worry you can go over the budget by about another grand.I would really apreciate it if you could list the make and model of the items.also a good moniter pref HD and Blu-Ray drive.I'm mainly concerned on performance and overall quality like graphics. Thanks
My Answer:
Hello,
I cannot tell what currency this "around 2000 to spend on a custom home made pc" is. Is it US dollars (USD) or is it something else? It's really is impossible for me to suggest anything for you without knowing the currency.
Besides that, would you like it to be AMD Based or Intel based? Are you talking about building a desktop or a laptop? What kind of OS are you having in mind? Vista, Mac, linux, Windows 7, or something else? What are you going to use this computer for?
I suggest you re-post with question with more information =)
MEANWHILE, I would like to recommend you to take a look at BAREBONE KITS.
Barebone kits usually are what I look at first when I want to build a computer, whether it is for myself or for a friend. It is cheaper than buying the parts separately.
You can find them all over the internet, just do a search. My favorite place to look for them is TigerDirect.com ( http://www.tigerdirect.com/sectors/computers/index.asp ).
Here's the link to TigerDirect's barebone kits offers http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/Category/category_tlc.asp?CatId=31
There are several subcategories to choose from if you are interested. Look over them. Be careful though, if you plan to purchase one. LOOK AT WHAT ARE INCLUDED IN THE KITS. It is not unusually that they don't have some parts such as coolers/fans.
Sorry I couldn't help much =(
Question:
okay, i wanna loose up to 10 pds before summer starts. it starts in about alomst a month or so and i dont know how to keep a daily diet and how to stop me from eating bad and unhealthy foods. any suggestions pleaseee?
My Answer:
Hello,
It's kind of hard to answer if I don't know your current (1) age, (2) weight, (3) height, (4) whether you are active or not, and (5) whether you are taking any kind of medicine or pill.
I suggest you to re-post this question again with those information, because false suggestion may send you straight to the hospital =( (and no, I'm not joking; dieting affects your overall health A LOT!).
Besides, the more info I have, the more detail I can go =)
Anyway, with this much information, all I can say is that you should:
--stay out of soft drinks, like soda, coke, pepsi, etc.
--stay out of junk food and fast food.
--keep your 3 main meals--breakfast, lunch, and dinner--at about the same time everyday. And don't forget to include vegetable. =)
--DON'T skip any one of the 3 main meals, and don't eat too little either.
--wake up at 4 AM or 5 AM (NOT 6 or 8) and exercise for at least 20 minutes, without rest. If you rested during the 20 minutes, you need to exercise for 45 or 60 minutes.
--drink at least 5 glasses of water each day, 8 or 10 is recommended.
--sleep at least 7 hours a day; 8 hours is recommended. Over 12 hours? Well, not a very good idea of dieting.
Sorry for not being able to help much,
=(
Question:
study of earth and space is called what?
My Answer:
Earth Science = The study of the Earth and the universe around it.
Cosmochemistry = The study of the origin and development of all elements and their isotopes in the universe.
Question:
i just go on the stair climber for one hour in the morning which burns 1000 calories and then another hour at night or during the afternoon if i have time. i'm a college student so i use the meal plan here and the food here is just so bad. i try to make good choices but it seems like everything i eat is terrible. i'm 5'6", 19 years old, and around 145 pounds. i used to be around 130 or so before coming to college. it seems like i'm not seeing any results from working out and it's bothering me. thanks so much for answering my question.
My Answer:
Oh, hi again, this is a follow up of this, right? http://www.advicenators.com/qview.php?q=563372
=============================
You should NOT take any diet pill if that is your regular exercising time. If you are taking any sort of diet pill right now, I suggest you to stop =)
=============================
If what you said is true--exercise everyday, height at least 5'6", and 19 years old--then 145 pounds should be just the right weight.
And you said that you exercise at least 2 hours a day, then you could actually go up to 150 pounds and still considered as "fit." Although if you go above 155, then that would be overweight.
HOWEVER, studies show that many women at your age considered that around 130 pounds would be an ideal weight. But hey, you are active. You got muscles. Most women don't.
=============================
Now, in the future, if you are wondering whether you are at the right weight or not, then try to calculate your BODY MASS INDEX (BMI).
BMI will give you a number that in which will be used to tell whether you are underweight, at the the right weight, or overweight. The number is based on your height and weight, along with other minor factors like you age, your gender, and whether you are active or not.
Here is a great BMI calculator, bookmark or write the page down somewhere so that you can use it in the future:
http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm
On there, medically speaking, if your Body Mass Index is between 20 to 25, you are at the right weight. And because you are exercising everyday, anything between 22 to 25 is good.
Also, here's a little funny fact, along with the coke and pepsi one, 70% of college students gain 9 to 15 pounds during their freshmen year. It is call "Freshmen 15."
=============================
IF YOU STILL WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT even after knowing all that, then I suggest you go with the following schedule of exercise.
WARNING: I hope you take these warnings seriously if you are following the following schedule of exercise. If not, the following schedule of exercise will do you MORE HARMS THAN GOOD =)
--This schedule requires a decent intake of energy, so EAT AS MUCH AS YOU WOULD LIKE TO (while staying out of fast food and soft drinks like coke or pepsi, of course). No need to hold back. I would afraid that you don't eat enough, rather than eat too much =)
--WATER is very important. Drink at least EIGHT glasses of water each day. TEN or MORE would be recommended. If not, you'll suffer from dehydration.
Ready? Shall we begin? Here goes:
--Wake up early in the morning ("early" means 4:00 AM to 5:00 AM, NOT 7:00 AM), go out to your yard, and do some stretching. Push your body a little because the point of this is train your body's flexibility. Do this for about 20 to 30 minutes.
--After that, jog for half an hour. Then after a month, steadily increase it until you can continuously jog for a whole hour without stopping. After 2 or 3 years, strive for 2 hours if you can. (Jog, not walk, just to make it clear.) The point of this is endurance. And this trains your heart and lung, too, they're important internal organs.
--After the jog, 100 sit-ups and 30 push-ups. After three months, steadily increase the rate to 150 sit-us and 50 push-ups. After that, strive for over 100 push-ups. (and this is RIGHT AFTER the jogging). It'll be really hard because you're already tired.
--You'll be very tired after all that. So rest a bit, catch your breath, then take a warm bath (WARM, NOT COLD). While taking the bath, relax your body . . . just enjoy the bath for about half an hour. This is to relax your muscle so that it won't hurt too much afterward.
--Go to work or school, work, hangout, whatever, just do your everyday stuffs.
--In the afternoon, put together a thick stack of paper (again, thick! Else, you'll hurt yourself a lot), tape the thick stack of paper onto a brick wall or a tree's trunk, and punch it. Punch it as hard as you can until your knuckles hurt, bleed, or maybe until you just bored of it. Done punching? Then go to kick =D
--Sprint 10 meters, not 100 meters, but 10! Run as fast as you can. It doesn't matter whether you can run long distance. The goal of this is to cover a short distance in the least amount of time possible.
--As you have dinner, sit without a chair supporting your butts. You still sit as if there's an invisible chair there. Your feet, knee, and thigh area will be undergoing serious work out if you do this everyday =D
--relax a little now, do whatever you want
--Just before you go to sleep, do some push-up. Your goal is 50 at first, then slowly strive for 100, and then until you are exhausted.
--After that, try to stand by your arms instead of legs. Get support from a wall if you have to. In the first 3 month, your goal is 10 minutes. Then steadily strive for longer time as you go. After 7 months, try to walk with your arms =)
--Time to sleep? Take a bath! Just like in the morning, a relaxing . . . warm bath . . . maybe with roses? hahaha
--Yoga if you want to, if you don't, who care! Yoga is mental training, you are aiming for physical training here so you can careless about it. >=)
--SLEEP well. Sleep is when your entire body is at rest. You need at least 7 hours of sleep with this training. (And I'm talking about 7 hours per day, not per week, hehe).
--IT'S WEEKEND!!! =D What should you do? Well, do whatever you usually do, but no exercising in the weekend. Your body NEED TO REST! Instead, you should dance, or play some kind of sports. This is agility training. Dancing help make you feel like your body is lighter, so that your movement will be a lot smoother. Dancing is a work out itself. If you don't like to dance, play some sports, such as tennis, badminton, soccer, or basketball, etc.
--2 years later--
--Join a martial art school. You've trained your body so well over the last three years. Now, your goal here is not to study martial art, but to train your reflexes. Sparring without other practitioners help you train your reflexes in danger. Not to mention that here you will have all the equipments to further your training.
--3 more years passed-- (a total of 5 years)
--By now, for a girl, you kill! See if your boyfriend can mess with you, hehehe ^-^
--Of course, never stop training. As you get older, the amount of training will become less, but you'll have a healthy body. =D
Hope this helps,

Question:
hello, i'm 19/f and i weight about 145. my friend is also 19/f and she is about the same height as me (5'6") and weighs around 108. i've been exercising everyday for two hours and even been taking ephedrine pills and i have not lost weight at all. i've also been doing crunches and i've seen no results. however, my friend has been also working out less than i have and she's already got a 4 pack! (it's only been a few weeks). i'm just wondering why i can't seem to lose weight and it's so easy for her to get a 4 pack so soon. thanks in advance.
My Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for asking this question, but I really hope that you can provide more specific information. Dieting affects your over all health a lot, so you have to be very careful.
First, what kind of exercise have you been and are you doing for two hours everyday? And do you eat right (eat healthy food and stay out of fast food and soft drinks, such as coke, pepsi, etc.)?
If you eat right, and your exercise is quite intensive, to the point that you have sit down and rest for a while before going somewhere else, then STOP taking ephedrine pills;
because if you don't stop, well then, within the next six to eight months, you would be in the hospital because of malnutrition and cardiac medical conditions, along with your respiratory system and circulatory of your blood, and maybe acute psychosis or paranoia.
In the worst case scenario, you might die from circulatory arrest. This is worst of the worsts, so I don't think you would have to worry about this but . . . be careful there =)
IF YOU ARE TAKING EPHEDRINE PILLS, I suggest you to decrease your exercising time to 30 minutes to 45 minutes a day, WHILE KEEPING YOUR IN-TAKE NUTRITION IN CHECK.
And AFTER THREE MONTHS, you should STOP taking any kind of diet pill, including ephedrine pills.
And don't worry about it. If you eat healthy food and stay out of fast food and soft drinks, all the while you also exercise for 30 minutes each day, you are fine. Your body will adjust itself and become fit, as long as you keep eating right and exercise.
For your age, DEPENDING ON HOW MUCH YOU WORK OUT, anything from 130 pounds to 145 pounds is where you should be. Any lower than 115 pounds is UNDER-WEIGHT.
ALSO, IF YOU ARE IN A PARTY AND YOU WANT TO DRINK SOFT DRINKS, stay out of coke and pepsi; go with 7-UP, Sprite, basically those with the lighter color. Coke and Pepsi have a higher acid concentration in comparison to 7-UP, and they dissolve your food fast. Your body will not be able to absorb the necessary nutrition and you'll feel hungry faster.
AS FOR YOU FRIEND, if her weight goes down to BELOW 105 pounds, get her to a doctor IMMEDIATELY before it's too late =)
Hope this helps,

Question:
Sometimes when I am on youtube the video will load very fast, but it will play in slow motion (with slow motion sound as well). However, I could be listening to iTunes and my music will be fine (I think its just videos on the internet).
How do I fix it without restarting my computer, which works, but is very time consuming and quite annoying.
Thanks! (Oh and I have a PC and use firefox)
My Answer:
Based on your information of "restarting my computer, which works," I think it is possible that your problem might lies in one of the followings:
--Resource Hog: could be an extremely fragged disk, memory leak, or maybe you are running some programs that usage up too much computer resources.
Virus, spyware, and trojan horse could be the cause, too.
--If you have Windows Vista, then it might be the cause. Vista is a quite a resource hog for users with weak computers who are not familiar with Windows and don't know how to turn off unnecessary services.
--Your CPU could be over heated. Check your cooler, try to monitor your CPU's temperature. Also, when was the last time you clean up the internal parts of your computer?
NOT ENOUGH INFORMATION TO FIGURE OUT THE CAUSE
PC means Personal Computer. It could be a desktop, a laptop, a tablet computer, using any kind of OS (Operating System) from Windows, MAC, Linux to all the less common ones.
Firefox isn't too helpful either. What add-ons do you have on it?
--I don't know what your OS is.
--I don't know what your computer's RAM, CPU, graphic card, and what programs it runs in the background are.
--I don't know what add-ons you have on your Firefox and what version it is.
--I don't know how clean your computer's internal parts are.
--What is the CPU usage and RAM usage when you watch a video on YouTube? CPU's temperature? CPU's cooler?
--Do you have a virus, spyware, or trojan?
Basically, "I have a problem with youtube and I have a PC and use firefox" is not much different from saying "I live on Earth, please figure out where I live" =)
Sorry, I can't be much of a help here =(
Question:
i'm not really asking too much for advice, but more of an opinion and what you think. so heres my story (17f&17m):
i dated this guy for 8 months and we broke up the last week of april...he said he doesn't have the same feelings for me. however, we went to prom together and i was laying on this guy cause i wasn't feeling good and he was off doing his own thing...and he got upset at me for that...we both decided that itd be best for us not to talk until summer starts (which is in like a month from now) then he wants to start hanging out again as friends and he said "if its meant to be, it'll be". we started going out during the summer of last year and i was thinking of doing something cute when we hang out to realize why he fell for me last summer. i really love this kid and he treats me right. so what do you think i should do with this whole situation..is there anything that can boost our chances of getting back together?
oh and should i text him first when school ends? and how long should i wait? or should i let him text me?
My Answer:
Hello,
AS FOR GETTING BACK TOGETHER, I would suggest that you two go on some double or triple dates. You know, you two go on dates together with another one or two couples. This usually is the best way to rebuild a broken relationship. Seeing others get along with each other and hearing them talking might hit something in your heads. Also, they might be able to give you two better advice than I do because I've never known anything about you two.
AS FOR TEXTING HIM, I would suggest you wait for a week and see whether he would text you first. If he doesn't, then you text him and ask him to go on a double/triple date. But in the text, ask why he haven't text you yet, too (with a smile like this :), of course . . . because guys like seeing smiling faces ":)" and "x"'s [without the quote] appear randomly in text messages and emails. We thought that they are cute, hehehe.)
Reason you should wait then tell him that is because in most relationships, if the guy would set aside his pride and let the girl wins and/or subdues to the girls a little, the relationship would have more chance of success. Reason being that guys typically have less self-awareness than girls. When they win, they proud of it and want to win more. Girls usually know when to stop, or at least their sympathy would kick in and tell them where is enough.
Of course that would not be true if the girl is a slut, just get into a relationship for the fun of it, or if she likes to take advantage of it and go out with other guys, and ask for expensive things, etc. Well, actually, if the girl or guy is like that, the relationship is never going to work out. Luckily neither of you are like that =)
AS FOR HIS SUGGESTION OF "not to talk until summer starts then hang out as friend again" is a bad idea. That is just "running away from the problem." You two are suppose to seek the solution to the your problem, not run away from it.
Besides that, once you two have crossed the boundary of friendship and step into the lover zone, it's really hard to go back where you were before immediately. Yes, you could go back to be just friends eventually, but it takes time. As of now, it's not going to happen. 8 months of affections just won't wear off so easily. (Hence: he still jealous when you laid on the other guy, heh.)
Again, it takes much time and effort to the friends like before. Both of you would need to be mature about it. Meaning you two shouldn't care about losing or winning to the others, and who benefits more, etc.
Hope this helps,

Question:
Ok so for english we had to write a poem on loves and losses and i wrote this one. Please give me your honest answer on everything and if you have any ideas on how to make it better thanks!
I love you now,
I lost you yet,
I will always be here.
Don’t you fret
I know it hurts
But life goes on
I will try not to listen
To those sappy love songs,
Cause when I do,
I think of you
And what we used to be,
I just wish you would see
I gave you everything,
Yet you pushed me away,
I promise I will miss you,
Every single day
Me and you,
We can find a way,
And maybe…just maybe
We can be together someday.
My Answer:
Hello,
You have a few grammatical errors that need to be fix, but other than that, AWESOME poem! I like it very much. It must have took you a lot of time to write that.
And here are the corrections to make your poem even better:
--Change "Cause" (in "Cause when I do") to Because or 'Cause.
'Cause is one of the two popular shortened forms of "Because," while "Cause" is not.
Example: The cats cause an uproar 'cause of the mice.
--Put a PERIOD after "But life goes on" and "Every single day."
--Change the comma after "And what we used to be" to a PERIOD.
--Change "Me and you" to "You and I" (the comma stays there).
Also, I suggest you change "not to listen" to "listen not" =)
Hope this helped,

Question:
If sperm has been out in the air for more than 48 hours its dead right?
My Answer:
Hello,
Actually, sperm could only live for a few hours (2 to 3 hours) after ejaculated.
However, that is if the guy did NOT ejaculated anywhere near the girl's vagina. If he DID ejaculated near, on, or in the vagina, then it becomes a little bit more complicated. Here's the break down:
--If no fertile fluid is present, sperms will die within a few hours, usually when the semen is all dried up.
--If the guy happens to ejaculated near the genital area, or on the vagina (still consider as coming outside, not inside yet), the sperms still can SWIM into the vagina, and go inside the girl's body.
--Once the sperms are inside the girl's body, they can survive for 3 to 5 days.
--A lot of these sperms will die because the girl's body constantly produces a type of cervical fluid (calls "mucus") that is very acidic. Now, ironically, the mucus will eventually change and actually help keep sperms alive for about 3 to 5 days. (I don't remember when, where, and how the mucus does that, sorry, I forget like over half of what I learn, hehehe, my mind is bad like that =P)
--Also, if the condition is good (strong sperm, good vagina condition, etc.), sperms can survive a maximum of 7 days within a girl's body.
And 48 hours around the ovulation time is actually the time that the girl is fertile.

Question:
What foods/drinks strengthen tooth enamel?
Which ones make it weaker?
My Answer:
Hello,
I'll tackle your question one by one, along with brief reasons along each answer. Then at the end, I'll go into a little bit more detail, as extra information. Sound good?
"What foods/drinks strengthen tooth enamel?"
--Fresh fruit, milk, butter, vegetable, carrots, beans, yogurt, cheese, whole grain cereals, fish, meat, etc. are all good for that purpose.
Just like all other parts in your body, your teeth depends on overall good nutrition to stay healthy.
Any food with fat-soluble vitamins (vitamins A, D, E, and K) will give you a fit and healthy body. What if you eat too much of them? That's the next thing to worry about, because most people DO NOT eat enough of these rather than eating too much. Also, don't forget calcium-rich food, too.
--Tap water has low acid, and it has fluoride, which helps to strengthen tooth enamel.
--Sugarless gum helps, too, as long you chew it, not swallow it (believe it or not, I still swallow gums sometimes because after a while, I totally forgot that I have gum in my mouth, so . . . yeah =P)
Sugarless gum has "xylitol." Xylitol is used to sweeten the gum and it has the effect of reducing the amount of bacteria in the mouth and it also helps buffer the teeth against the effect of acid.
Besides, chewing gum increases your flow of saliva, and your saliva can protect your teeth against bacteria.
"Which ones make it weaker?"
--junk food, soft drinks, soda, coke, potato chips, alcohol, food with a lot of salt, smoking, all those common-knowledge stuffs.
Just a warning, if you were to drink soft drinks, stay out of coke and pepsi; go with 7-UP, Sprite, basically those with the lighter color. Coke contains very, very high acid concentration. Coke can dissolve a nail within 2 to 4 days, just so you know =) Once in a while is ok, but if you drink them every day or even every week, uh, be careful there.
--Possessed fruits, dried fruits, canned fruits, etc. aren't replacement for fresh fruit. Remember the fat-soluble vitamins deal that I mentioned earlier? Only fresh food has decent amount of those vitamins.
-Bread, breakfast cereal, candy, and banana aren't so healthy either. They are within the category of "fermentable carbohydrates" food (definition below, in the more info section).
***************************
More Information: What Causes Tooth Enamel to go Bad?
--Some foods breaks down once they go further down the digestive tract, but some begin to break down right when then enter your mouth. These kind of food are call fermentable carbohydrates.
Certain bacteria on your teeth produce acids using the sugars from those foods (by "sugar," I don't mean the regular sugar, but I mean the glucose, fructose, maltose and lactose). (And I forgot what those bacterias call so . . . sorry =( I can't tell you anything about them).
The acids then begin a process call "demineralization." It means that the acids begins to dissolve minerals inside the tooth enamel. If nothing is to be done, your tooth will begin to decay slowly.
YOUR GOAL HERE is to begin the process call "remineralization." It is the opposite of demineralization. You are trying to let your teeth regain the minerals that it lost due to the acid. Saliva, flouride, calcium, fat-soluble vitamins, and some food helps your teeth regain the lost minerals.
Hope this helps,

Question:
my dad told me that if i don't eat vegatables that i'll get pimples on my cheeks.
hah, idk if he was just saying that or what but it worried me because well i've never aten lots of vegatables actually not very much at all. but i've always had flush cheeks that had little bumbs, my cheeks been like that my whole life.
so what should i think of this situation? is my father right? or is he just nuts?
My Answer:
Hello,
Nope, eating veggies or not have no connection with pimples.
If you want someone to blame, blame your dad or mom for that. If you have pimple, chances are . . . heh . . . when your mother or father was young, he or she had had pimples, too. It's in your genes.
If you want something to blame, blame your hormonal activity. Abnormal hormonal activity can lead to pimples, too. (Stress, menstrual cycle, pregnancy, some sort of medication, etc. might be the cause of the abnormal hormonal activity).
Here's how it happens:
When too much oil (medical word for this type of oil is "sebum") is produced (usually due to abnormal hormonal activities, but there are some other less common causes, too), it can become mixed with dead skin cells and small pieces of hair on your skin, and clog the pathway out of the hair follicle/oil gland. And there you go, you got pimple.
Hope this helps,
Ng2491
P.S. Oh, and your dad is right about one part. You should eat vegetable, it's healthy =D
Question:
So maybe you could help me.
I'm a sophomore, about to be a junior and feel completely torn as to what I want to pursue as a career.
My mind keeps bouncing between architecture, graphic design, and psychologist/psychiatrist.
Mostly, though, I want to be a psychiatrist.
This looks like a problem to me because I heard that a lot of psychiatrists need to go to therapy on a regular basis because they pick up on the abnormal thought processes of their patients. I think I could imagine myself doing this, as well.
I'm just extremely interested and fascinated with the mind and how it's possible for the mind to differ in different people.
Anyway, architecture and graphic design seem to be like laid out plans for me because I'm talented in the art department and enjoy designing things and tend to point out what could possibly be improved in anything I look at.
The only problem with those two options, though, is that they're just too easy and there's no challenge. I like to be challenged and don't want to stay in my comfort zone.
I know you probably think I'm stupid for even worrying about this so early, but I am looking forward to pursuing something and don't want to be like many people I know, who began to pursue one career and then changed their mind after wasting all the money for the other majors.
What do you think I should do?
What parameters do you think I should base my decision on?
Thanks.
My Answer:
Hello,
To begin with, sophomore is not too early at all. You should consider your high school year as your early college year. In fact, if you think you can handle the work load, you should take AP classes and concurrent classes in your high school years, too. Both of which give you college credits, and if you pass the classes or the tests, you might be able to speed your graduate time up to two or three years.
As for "they're just too easy and there's no challenge," I highly doubt that you should be worry about that unless you are a super genius. There are a lot of stuffs that you don't know about yet and there are challenges. The challenges get more and more difficult as your proceed further into your career.
And as for what to choose . . . well, usually people would tell you to choose what you like most. And I would agree with that, too.
However, also consider "What Drives You? What is your Motivation?"
Sometimes it's hard to know what you like the most. So it's best to turn to the question: what motivates you? What makes you want to go into that field?
I, for example, really, really interested in computer science, but I have little interest in medicine; I am interested in it, but just not as much as computer science. So am I going into it?
It's because I have a reason to do so, besides just liking it. A certain incident happened when I was 11, and it makes me detest lawyers, but it also makes me want to know about medicine and help orphans. (And the need for money, too, if you will.)
A close friend of mine, however, chooses to major in math simply because she's good at it. She does not have any particular interest in any field, but because she understands math faster and easier than other subjects, she chooses it.
(But personally, I think that she should be majoring in psychology. She's especially good at understanding a person's emotion and mental mind. If you are interested in being psychiatrist, you might want to talk to her instead of me. She'll be able to help you better.)
And this gives you three things to consider when choosing a major in college: what you are interested in, what your motivation is, and what you are best at (besides sleep, of course, hehehe).
Also, this is some information that you might want to know about being psychiatrist. (Sorry that I can't give you info about architecture or graphic design but, well, you see, I'm in the medical field, not architecture =P).
First, realize that psychiatrist are the primary caregivers in the area of mental health. That means most patients who come to you have not been through any mental treatment at all. Being a psychiatrist, you will NOT just have to talk to your patient, oh no no, talking is just a small part of it. You need to know how to treat your patient using psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and medication. Knowledge in chemistry is required, too.
To be a psychiatrist, you need at least an M.D. (doctor of medicine) or D.O. (doctor of osteopathy) degree (most people have an M.D. though), and at least 4 years of accredited residency training, including a minimum of 3 years in psychiatry.
So you are looking at . . . what? . . . 12 years of high school, 4 years of college, 4 more years to get the M.D. or D.O., and some more years of training. That's about 12 more years after high school. It's one long road there.

Question:
When someone asks you "how far have you gone with your BF/GF" I don't get the whole "bases" responce.
Like what does 1st base mean? And 2nd? 3rd? And is there a 4th base?
Thanks! I know I sound stupid but I've been wondering about it.
My Answer:
Hello,
The "bases" here are like in baseball, and no, there is not a 4th base, but there is a "home run."
So it's basically:
1st Base: French Kissing
2nd Base: Touching Private Places (e.g. breast, penis, etc.)
3rd Base: Oral Sex
Home Run: Intercourse (going all the way--1st, 2nd, 3rd, and have sex)
These are the universal means of the bases, but a few people might give you slightly different answers. These are what most people understand them as.
Also, careful when you ask the question and/or answer it. Some girls don't really like it when the boys answer like that. They said that it makes the whole relationship seems like a game. And the object of that game is to see how far you could get, not about love.

Question:
Here's my Q Im gonna start working out and I'm really serious about it and I want advice and I don't want people talking about diet I know that's as important I just wanna know any good training techniques for getting a six pack and to work out my legs and especially losing wieght on my thighs.
My Answer:
Hello,
Well, it depends on what equipment you have available and whether you are going to a gym or not.
But if you have no money, or don't want to spend money on equipments and the gym, then there are also ways to use what around you. I'll talk about this kind of working out in this answer.
Let's begin, shall we?
(***NOTE: This work out is tough for the first two or three months, depending on how your body is currently. And within the first two weeks, you may feel like your muscles have been torn apart. But it gets easier and more comfortable as we go.)
(Jog, not walk, just to make it clear.) The point of this is endurance, not enduring pain, but to extend the time it takes to get you to be tired.
So rest a bit, catch your breath, then take a bath. While taking the bath, drown yourself. In the first 6 months, see if you can hold your face under water for over 2 minutes. After 1 year, strive for 5 minutes. (Don't know if you can go longer than that though, because I have never been able to do that . . . yet.) Lung training.
--Go to work or school, hangout, whatever, just do your everyday stuffs.
--In the afternoon, put together a thick stack of paper (again, thick! Else, you'll hurt yourself a lot), tape the thick stack of paper onto a brick wall or a tree's truck, and punch it. Punch it as hard as you can until your knuckles hurt, bleed, or maybe until you just bored of it.
--Sprint 10 meters, not 100 meters, but 10! Run as fast as you can. It doesn't matter whether you can run long distance. The goal of this is to cover a short distance in the least amount of time possible. Speed training.
As you take a bath, drown yourself again, just like what you did in the morning.
--Yoga if you want to, if you don't, who care! Yoga is mental training, you are aiming for physical training here so you can careless about it. >=)
--IT'S WEEKEND!!! =D What should you do? Well, do whatever you usually do, but no training in the weekend.
--3 years later--
--Join a martial art school. You've trained your body so well over the last three years. Now, your goal here is not to study martial art, but to train your reflexes. Sparring without other practitioners help you train your reflexes in danger. Not to mention that here you will have all the equipments to further your training.
--2 more years passed-- (a total of 5 years)
--1 against 3 street fight? Marathon? Peace of cake >=) You may not come out first, but top places are yours. Of course, it depends on how intense you've train. After five years, even if a person has a gun, if he is within 20 feet from you, he's no threat.
--Of course, never stop training. As you get older, the amount of training will become less, but you'll have a healthy body. =D

Question:
ok i play a pretty rought sport and a few days ago i got pissed at a dude and pulled him out of the pool( waterpolo is the sport).
So i slugged him but i felt like it didnt do enough damage?make sense?i feel like im not fighting to my fullest potential..
i fight in this sport alout i dont lose alout im pretty big but i usually wait till they miss then hit them once and they give or i wrestle them to the ground..
i dont know one good fighting techinqe tho.
any easy ones to learn and dangerouse ones to have ?
My Answer:
Hello,
Let's tackle your concerns one by one, shall we? =)
1. "i feel like im not fighting to my fullest potential.."
---That is because you did not put much strength into your attack. Stand 2 feet away from a wall, have your two legs lined up, and then try to push the wall with your arms.
What do you feel? Is your entire body being push back instead? And you are feeling like you are not using all of your potential strength, right?
That's the wall's resistance to the force that acts upon it. Everything has some sort of resistance, strong or weak. To actually be able to push it, or damage it, you need to have a stronger force (or, as in some Chinese kung fu, use their own force against themselves, which is extremely hard).
Now, try to push the wall like you would normally do. What do you see now?
Yes, notice your legs are no longer lined up--one leg in front, and one to the back. You are now putting your entire weight into the push. This, my friend, is how you throw a strong punch.
Punching is much like pushing. A strong punch does NOT use only your arm, it requires YOUR ENTIRE BODY acting together. Your entire body weight, your muscle, the speed at which you throw the punch, plus a power boost from your leg help make your punch much stronger. The more synchronize your body movements are, the more powerful your punch becomes.
2. "any easy ones to learn and dangerouse ones to have ?"
---So, here are the EASY ONES:
***Note, all these are assumed that you are fighting against a person who knows nothing, or have little experience in fighting.
-Kick his BALLS! INSTANT WIN! EASIEST! ~hahaha (and most dangerous, too).
-Palm Strike at the nose. This is not dangerous, but enough to create a 2-second opening for a full-power punch.
-If you happen to be able to get on top of your opponent or force your opponent up against a wall, on his chest put your left hand over your right hand, and push with all your strength. (Very similar to doing CPR, only with a lot more strength and a lot faster) You'll hear some crunchy-cracking sound =D (Extremely dangerous against a normal person, this less-than-one-second move will instantly put your opponent into the hospital, don't use this if unnecessary).
-If you can grab one of your opponent's fingers, then you pretty much have 60% of his arm under your control. Unless he is willing to sacrifice his finger =)
-Kick the knee! Trample the knee! Knee is very important in a fight.
-Strike at the throat. If use against a normal person, the fight will end quickly =)
Here are the ADVANCED TECHNIQUES:
***NOTE: advanced techniques need excellent skills in order to use effectively. These requires extensive training. If not, you will be the one who gets hurt. These are techniques to use against those who have previous knowledge of marital arts.
-Oh, typical punches, what should I do? With proper stances, Black Tiger Steals Heart and Mirror Hands are perfect against punches =)
-A quick, 2-inch left jab? Darn, he's planning on a full punch next, what to do? A great counter of this is the Throw Ball in Waves patterns, aims at the ribs and solar plexus.
-To keep it short (else, it'll take several hours to list all the techniques), any chin-na techniques is good to counter attacks and lock your opponent, but again, prepare for at least five years of practice in order to use those techniques adequately (yeah, not perfectly yet).
-Chinese Kung Fu (or Chinese martial arts) have many deadly techniques, but oftentimes, a person who practice Chinese martial arts will have trouble fighting against a person who practice western martial arts. Reason being that Chinese marital arts are typically 65% skills and 35% strength; while western martial is typically 30% skills and 70% strength.
And just for your information, if you are planning to study some kind of Chinese kung fu, even after 7 years of studying, we won't be like Bruce Lee, so don't dream on it =D Real life is different from movies =( (which makes me kind of sad)
Hope this help,

Question:
I am going to college next year at a very expensive school. What are some ways to make that sort of money fast?
Tell me what I can do, what I will make, and how hard I will have to work for it.
And anything goes here, legal, illegal, immoral. I probably won't go the illegal route, but the information would come in handy.
18/m
My Answer:
Hello,
Among the legal ways, getting scholarships seem to be the only one that can get you $45,000 USD fast.
Besides that, you can attend an applied technology college and get a certificate in certain field, then you can work for about $15 USD per hour. It normally takes about 3 to 6 months to complete a course, some are shorter than others; and if you are still in high school, you can attend it for free =D
Now for the immoral but not really illegal way (it's not illegal, but at about the edge of becoming illegal), I know of a way to make around $7000 to $10,000 fast (by fast, I'm talking about 4 months to 6 months), but I don't know of any way to make instant $45,000.
However, if you are 18 years old or older, I would suggest you go to a tech college and be certified in some field (e.g. pharmacist technician, phlebotomy technician, dental assistant, website designer, etc.). You can make around $30,000 each year easily without having to "legally" (as of now) rob people off. (And I'm not going to say how anyway because I don't want to get ban from here.)
Illegal way? Rob the bank, instant millionaire, lol xD
Question:
I have a question, on the from of my gum on the bottom right hand side my gum is swollen and i dont know why because it wasent swollen earlier at all and now it is i have a little black spot on in the tip of my gum to and i went to get my teeth cleaned like a month ago or a couple weeks ago and i had braces on and got them off like before i got my teeth cleaned and the dentist that cleaned them said that i am at risk of getting some kind of gum disease because i hadnt gotten them cleaned sense 2006 and i didnt know it had been that long and iam scared that im going to get that gum disease it starts with a P but i cant even spell it so what do i do? I really dont want to loose my teeth and i dont have enought money for implants and i dont even know if my insurance covers implants so please help?
My Answer:
Hello,
Start with a P? By any chance, did you mean "periodontitis" (inflammation of the area around the tooth)?
Spelling it is not as difficult when you break it down:
"peri-" is a prefix that means "around, or surrounds"
"-odon" is a suffix that means "tooth"
"-itis" is a suffix that means "inflammation"
Anyway, if it's just swollen, then maybe you don't have periodontitis at all. I think it's just gingivitis. Gingivitis is usually cause by not brushing teeth, smoking, some kind of sickness that lead to this, some special medication, etc. Go ahead and see a doctor; he should be able to treat it without much trouble =)
If you really have periodontitis, then you really are into some trouble here. Depends on what stage it is, the treatment can go from just a deep-clean and brushing teeth more often to flap surgery and bone surgery. I don't know how serious your condition is so I can't really help with this, sorry =(

Question:
What does it mean to have a low white blood cell count. Is it leukemia or anemia??? or can it be just a condition and not a disease??
My Answer:
Hello,
Low white blood cell does NOT mean leukemia or anemia.
First, let's take a quick look at our medical terminology, shall we? =)
"Leuk-" is a prefix that means "white"
"-emia" is a suffix that means "blood"
"an-" is a prefix that means "without"
"-cyte" is a suffix that means "cell"
Now that you are familiar with the terminology, let's go into the explanation =D
--"Leukemia" is A TYPE OF CANCER where the bone marrow produces abnormal leukocytes (abnormal white blood cells). Overtime, the rapid increase of abnormal leukocytes overwhelms your normal white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets. In other words, the abnormal leukocytes CROWD OUT the normal white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets.
--"anemia" is the condition where the RED BLOOD CELLS count is abnormally less than normal.
So what's "low white blood cell count" anyway?
"Leukopenia" (-penia is a suffix that means deficiency) is the medical word for low white blood cells count (deficiency of white blood cells).
Leukopenia is NOT a disease itself, so yes, it is a condition. However, it suggests that something might have gone wrong, and I suggest that you should see a doctor as soon as possible.
Also, Leukopenia increases your risk of being affected by various diseases because your disease-fighting cells (your leukocytes [white blood cells]) is abnormally lower than normal.

Question:
We have been dating for 7 months, we are true and strong. We don't fight about stupid little things, we don't do drugs or drink or party like a normal teenager. We truly want to grow old together. We talk every chance we get, we never grow annoyed of each other, and we never get sick of hanging out. We have a promise to never break up and truly try and solve the problem. But since I'm a teenager, I feel immature, but I'm not. And I can sense that people think we wont last (adults).
Is it possible that we will one day be married, and have a happy ever after?
My Answer:
It IS possible that you two will one day married to each other, but have a happy-ever-after right after that? Well, I am sorry to say but . . . there's no nice way to put this . . . I'm sorry to say but that's just not going to happen just like that.
I don't say that you two will break up; no one could say that, to begin with. But we need to realize that real life's "happy-ever-after" is, oftentimes (again, oftentimes), not going to happen unless you are over 70 years old.
Oftentimes? Yes, only "oftentimes." Because exceptions exist, though very rare. Let's see if you are "potentially" within the exception:
--To love is to trust, and to trust is to doubt. Absolute trust doesn't exist, because that would be APATHY. Trust that your other half will be loyal to you, will not betray you; but Doubt about the person's wellness, realize that there are times when we say we're fine but in truth we are not. "Trust and Doubt" shortens the distance between the two of you and tightens your red string of love. You two must not be angry when the other person doubt you.
Do you and him trust each other? Do you two have doubt for each other? Do you feel angry when the other person doubt you?
--"Assume" is "Ass-u-me." When you "assume," you make an "ass out of you and me." Never assume anything about the other person. When in doubt, directly ask the person. Still doubt? Keep asking. Realize that "assumption" can lead to destruction.
Do you assume a lot? Does he assume something about you?
--"Sorry" is a very powerful word. When in fight, step back, swallow your anger, and just say "I'm sorry" in a WARM voice. This is call "Ad Misericordiam." You ignore the current argument, question, or situation, and appeal to the person's sympathy. Realize that in a relationship, it doesn't matter who wins in a fight, because, after all, if you two end up break up, you both just have lost. Besides, we usually don't think very clearly when angered, and may say things that we regret. Calm down, and discuss this later. If it's the other person's fault, he/she will realize it soon enough.
Does one of you have the will to step down in an argument and temporary be the one at fault? (NOTE: if the other person still not stop after ad misericordiam and begin to physically hurts you, then you are into some abusive relationship, get out of it ASAP [as soon as possible]).
--If you are aiming for a marriage, then which one is more important to each of you? Family or Work? Is religion important for you? Discuss it.
--Last but not least, do you and your other-important-half respect each other's parents? It doesn't matter if the parents are being mean, just respect them nevertheless, after all, you are going with their child, not them.
So, how was it? Do you think you are within the exception? Do you think you have what it takes to enjoy a happy-ever-after at the age of 30?
Question:
I love editing pictures and editing photography pictures i take, but photobucket doesn't have all the things I need on it. What photoshop can i buy thats around $60 dollars? It needs to be good and have a lot of features ? It needs to be easy to use too.
Please and Thank You!
lyss.
My Answer:
The cheapest price that my local stores have ever offered me for a Photoshop CS4 Extended is $199.99 USD, which isn't very cheap at all. And I do not know of a reliable way to obtain Photoshop for $60 USD (as for unreliable ways, yes, I do know of some, but I will not mention them on here [not worth the risk]).
However, I do know of a great alternative that you can use: GIMP.
GIMP is totally free; you wont' have to pay a dime for it. It has as many features as Adobe Photoshop and just as complex. It may look confuse at first, but after a few time playing around with it, it'll become somewhat user-friendly.
GIMP Home Page: http://www.gimp.org/
I've used GIMP for almost three years now and totally satisfied with it. I've also used Adobe Photoshop (at school), and haven't found anything that I can do in Photoshop but not in GIMP yet.
GIMP is also very popular among image editor users. You can get help with it easily.
