Building a comp on a budget

Question Posted Monday May 25 2009, 4:58 pm

This is for experts on current knowledge of hardware.
I have around 2000 to spend on a custom home made pc.And I'm wondering if anyone knows of the best hardware I could get for around that price like graphic cards and the lot.Don't worry you can go over the budget by about another grand.I would really apreciate it if you could list the make and model of the items.also a good moniter pref HD and Blu-Ray drive.I'm mainly concerned on performance and overall quality like graphics. Thanks

Hello,

I cannot tell what currency this "around 2000 to spend on a custom home made pc" is. Is it US dollars (USD) or is it something else? It's really is impossible for me to suggest anything for you without knowing the currency.

Besides that, would you like it to be AMD Based or Intel based? Are you talking about building a desktop or a laptop? What kind of OS are you having in mind? Vista, Mac, linux, Windows 7, or something else? What are you going to use this computer for?

I suggest you re-post with question with more information =)

MEANWHILE, I would like to recommend you to take a look at BAREBONE KITS.

Barebone kits usually are what I look at first when I want to build a computer, whether it is for myself or for a friend. It is cheaper than buying the parts separately.

You can find them all over the internet, just do a search. My favorite place to look for them is TigerDirect.com ( [Link](Mouse over link to see full location) ).

Here's the link to TigerDirect's barebone kits offers [Link](Mouse over link to see full location)

There are several subcategories to choose from if you are interested. Look over them. Be careful though, if you plan to purchase one. LOOK AT WHAT ARE INCLUDED IN THE KITS. It is not unusually that they don't have some parts such as coolers/fans.

Sorry I couldn't help much =(
