Q: well..this is how it goes:(sorry if longg)
i am (15/f) and i am possibly in love with 1 of my good friends (18/m). one day, we were in his basement and we started to dance together..(nothing unusual) but this time he put on a slow song..CRAZY by KC & J0J0..he asked me to dance with him to that song..and of course..i said yes..so we started dancing together..and in the middle of the song,i looked into his eyes..and he looked into mine..and yes..we kissed..we stopped dancing..and i turned off his stereo..and was about to walk up the stairs to leave..I WAS IN TOTAL SHOCK..and he grabbed my hand..then picked me up and he kissed me..we were making out for about another 2 hours..and then he drove me home..the next day at skool..((me--sophmore..him--senior)) we were on the back stairs of the skool and he asked me if i wanted to skip with him and i said okay..we skipped skool and went to his house...we went into his bedroom and we were kissing..then thingsz started gettin hot and he reached under my shirt and started unclipping my bra. I let him do that..then he started rubbin my boobs..i let him do that too..i started unzipping his pantsz and yeh..it happend..we had sex..now we go out and we have been for 6 months..the thing is now..his ex-gf keeps calling him and he talks to her..
my question is:
am i losing my man as well as my bestfriend?
sincerely,

No, you aren't losing him. Most exes want to remain friends with their ex-boyfriend. Most do not go out screaming at each other and hating each other for the rest of their lives. That is what's happening here. That girl does not want him to go out with her, she just wants to stay friendly with that, and through the phone is one way to do that.
If you really feel strongly about it, go ahead and ask your boyfriend what he talks to her about, and if he has any interest in her. It never hurts.

Q: okay so i have this project for health class. we have been watching a movie about a girl who lost about 30 pounds in a month. it was not real but we have to do a report on how it could be real. how could a person lose 30 pounds in a month?

It would be really hard. To lose 30 pounds in a month, you would probably need 3 eating disorder... Maybe 4. You'd need one or both of anorexia and bulemia, you'd need a disorder called anorexia athletica (You exercise to the point of insanity to lose weight), and an overactive metabolism. 30 pounds in a month is a pound a day, and that is really hard to lose.

Q: Hi its Jen yeah heres my wondeful question about the trombone and such!
Alright I'm in 10th grade and I have played since 4th but I never really got *into* it until last year (as in I was alright but now I'm you know...pretty good. But I do have a problem playing out, I guess thats the shy person in me though, I'm working on it.) And well, I played 2nd part last yr. and it was good, I was comfortable on it, and I wasnt the one the whole band counted on. This yr. my band teacher gave me 1st part but I didnt feel I was ready for it and gave it too a 9th grader because I dont think I'm ready enough to carry the section. I feel disappointed in myself and part of me wonders if I should ask for the part back (we've only had concert band twice) but then another part of me knows that he would be better playing. And we're having chair auditions in Dec/Jan, so if I get higher than him on that I'll *know* I should be 1st.
So...what all of that was leading up too is, should I stick with 2nd and see what happens with the chair auditions or ask for my 1st part back and see if I can do it?\
Sorry for the long question and all, but its just been bugging me lately! Anyway...I guess I'm off, its kind of late so I have to be to bed!

Go ahead and take the first part. Reason being that you have more experiance in playing, you are into playing now, and will undoubtably improve before the December Auditions, and you need to challenge yourself to get anything out of playing. You know those people out on the streets playing trombone? They could really be philharmonic material if they only challenged themselves, they practice for about 7 hours a day... And 1st part is a challenge. I have played all 3 parts, and 2nd part is the least challenging of them. Go ahead with the 1st. And yes, you can easily do it. The highest note I ever saw on a 1st was a high G...

Q: I'm going to get a physical done next week. I got the last physical done about 2 years ago, and I remember they looked down my pants to see if I was healthy "down there." My question is, am I supossed to shave my pubic hair or not? I don't wanna look like an idiot when they look "down there."
Thnks bunches..

The doctors don't care. They have people who shave, others who don't. It's not unhealthy for you, and a majority of the people go both ways. There is no majority. So, they expect some to be shaven, some to not be.

Q: what's ego and eco mean?
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Ego has many meanings, but it is usually used when referring to a person that thinks too highly of themselves. AKA, people who believe that they are the best at anything. Usually, people try to keep it down.
Eco is not a word, it is usually used for a shortened form of "Ecologogy".

Q: Ok when I drink sometimes I can drink a lot and be normal but other times I can drink very little and get wasted. Why does this happen?
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|

Tolerance dows very funny things to you. When you develope a tolerance of alchohal, it sometimes fires back. Tolerance is how much you need to drink to get the same effect. Heavy drinkers have higher tolerance than non-drinkers. Yet, your tolerance is shake. So, depending on where it is at, you may drink a lot and have high tolerance, or drink what your BODY deems as a lot at the time, and get wasted, because you have low tolerance then.

Funniest
Sweetest
Best Hair

Best Smile
Best Eyes
Most Likely To Suceed and
Most School Spirit
Any suggestions would be nice, but preferably not ones like "Most trendy" "Best dressed" and such because thats just demeaning..

Q: I'm 15 and I think I have social anxiety disorder. My parents keep urging me to get help from a counsellor.. but I can't. Why don't you consider consulting a psychologist online? There are plenty of psychologists out there ready to offer you their services through E-Mail or AIM, and it is apparently easier for you to talk through text instead of through words. You may even want to consider requesting that you can talk to him by going there, just ask if it could be possible to bring a laptop to IM him in.
Just a thought...

What is social anxiety disorder?
Social anxiety disorder, also called social phobia, is a psychological condition that causes an overwhelming fear of social situations that require interacting with or performing in front of others. It is different than being shy, introverted, or experiencing the normal anxiety before public speaking—the fear is that you will somehow embarrass yourself with what you say or do in public. Social anxiety disorder causes relentless fear, often beginning days or weeks before an event, and often triggers physical symptoms such as blushing, rapid heartbeat, and difficulty concentrating. Social anxiety disorder significantly impacts a person's daily life. It may even cause withdrawal from social activities and missed work or school.
What causes social anxiety disorder?
Although the exact cause of social anxiety is not known, it may run in families either as a genetic factor or as a learned response developed after experiencing a particularly humiliating situation.
What are the symptoms of social anxiety disorder?
Social anxiety disorder has both emotional and physical symptoms. Emotionally, you may feel anxious, sad, irritable, and easily startled in anticipation of or during a social event. You may worry excessively or fear something bad is going to happen. This anxiety can cause physical symptoms, such as blushing, sweating, shakiness, rapid heartbeat, and difficulty concentrating.
How is social anxiety disorder diagnosed?
Social anxiety disorder is diagnosed based on your history of symptoms, a physical exam, and a mental health assessment, which involves an evaluation of psychological symptoms.
Blood or urine tests may also be done to rule out other medical conditions that can cause similar symptoms (such as an overactive thyroid).
How is social anxiety disorder treated?
Treatment of social anxiety disorder includes professional counseling and sometimes medications (such as antidepressants), depending on the degree to which your symptoms are impacting your daily life. Social anxiety disorder can be generalized—meaning you fear most social situations—or your fears may be limited to one or a few social situations. The more social fears you have, the more debilitating the condition, and the more difficult it can be to treat.
Substance abuse problems or depression often accompanies social anxiety disorder. When other psychological conditions occur with social anxiety disorder, additional treatment is needed for those conditions.
Symptoms:
Social anxiety disorder causes unreasonable, debilitating fear of being judged or publicly humiliated. You may avoid or severely limit encounters with other people—which can keep you from daily activities. You may develop physical symptoms such as a rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, or tightness in your chest when faced with a feared social situation.
When you have social anxiety disorder, common social situations can cause overwhelming fear and anxiety, such as eating in public, writing in front of other people, using a public restroom, or speaking in front of others.
You may be more afraid of people noticing your anxiety than of the actual feared situation. A vicious cycle can emerge of avoiding or worrying about the social event (such as speaking in public) because you are afraid others will see you as weak, anxious, or foolish—this, in turn, leads to more anxiety. This may lead to avoiding or limiting contact with other people.
Symptoms of social anxiety disorder may differ in adults and children. Adults and teenagers with social anxiety disorder usually recognize their fears of being publicly humiliated are unreasonable or excessive, while children who have this disorder may not. 1
Expressions of anxiety in adults or adolescents include:1, 2
Having persistent but unreasonable fear of a situation that involves unfamiliar people or being judged by others. The fear is that you will be embarrassed or humiliated by something that you say or do.
Developing severe anxiety or panic attacks when in the feared situation.
Recognizing that your fears are excessive or unreasonable.
Avoiding social situations that you fear, or enduring them with intense anxiety or distress.
Avoiding or anxiously anticipating feared situations so much it interferes with daily activities and relationships.
Worrying about being anxious.
Expressions of anxiety in children include:1, 2
Worrying about being embarrassed in front of their peers, but not usually adults or teenagers.
Expressing anxiety by frequently crying, throwing tantrums, "freezing" in social situations, or "shrinking back" from unfamiliar people.
Denying or not realizing the fears are excessive or unreasonable.
Fearing performance situations, such as having to speak in front of the class. This fear doesn't come and go; it is continuous and lasts for 6 months or longer.
People with social anxiety disorder often underachieve at work or at school to avoid the attention of a promotion or to avoid being forced to participate in a group. 1 They tend to have few friendships and have trouble dating or developing relationships. In prolonged or severe cases, many people develop other psychological conditions (such as depression or substance abuse). 3
Social anxiety disorder is among several types of phobias that many people experience, such as agoraphobia or specific phobia (fearing an object, like a spider, or a frightening situation, such as being stuck in an elevator).

Q: is it bad to ask a guy out i mean does it hurt there self of steam?
thx candi
|

Self Esteem. It is inside of you, your confidence in your own self. Not your ego, which is how good you think you are, but the confidence inside you that you can do something. It's a lot like motivation in a long term sense. To hurt it, it means that you put someone down, and they haveless confidence in themselves because of it.
EDIT: Whoops, I read it wrong. No, asking a guy out will not hurt their self esteem, only boost it. They are more confident in themselves because somebody likes them.

Q: I've just recently been breaking out real bad on my face(this usually doesn't happen)and I also notice some red zit like bumps on my legs.. which is really weird. Does anyone know what this is?! ( i'm supose to be getting my period soon if that has to do with anything?)

It may be that you are coming to the age of acne. Otherwise, it means that you are really stressed out. Whenever I have a lot of stress, my face explodes with zits. Especially during finals and midterms. I eve got a few at the start of school. The zit like bumps are also normal. I get them as well. They are ingrown zits, usually, and will go away. It's nothing detrimental, they are just growing a different direction, and are less noticable. If they aren't that, they are a type of rash that I have on my arm, back, and legs. It usually remains for about 5 years, and does nothing, until it disappears...
Your period may have something to do with it due to the stress that you feel worrying about it?

Q: The other day on my way home from school I bought a bag of donuts and was eating them while typing out an essay on my computer.I was a bit careless and sugar and crumbs from the donuts fell on the keyboard. The next day after school I had ants crawling all over my keyboard.I dont know what to do.
Any ideas?

You should probably get the ants off to begin with. Then, turn the keyboard upside-down and shake. Then, use alchohal (Rubbing) in small amounts and go over each key. That should get rid of them.

Depends on how he wants you now. If you ignore him when he has no interest in you, or minimal, he will give up. But if he does want you, he will want you even more. Unless you ignore him in a mean fashion.

Q: sry if this is long but ok so like the thing is my parents got divoreced 3 years ago and now i have a step bro and step sis. All of a sudden i think i am to fat even though i no i am way skinny and i want to become belimic. Also i just dont see a point in living i mean u always go to school and work what is the point in it? please help me what should i do?
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
No, you do not want to be a belimic. Making yourself throw up HURTS, and you do not want that pain. Even if you'll lose a few pounds, the weight loss does not offset the hurt. Many people have damaged the lining of their throats, stomach, and mouth by doing it. AKA, you'd probably have permanent problems, possibly lose a tooth. There are much healthier ways to diet than that. You should aim to around 5 pounds lost a month, for those diets are easier to keep. You can find one to use in the bookstore. Remember to exercise, that is what burns the calories.
As to not wanting to live, remember that there is more to life than just school and work. Work usually lasts from 8-4. You still have the rest of the day to rest and do whatever you want. Plus weekends. And, you strive towards retirement, which can come really early if you work hard enough. You also will have a family soon enough, and they will be another part of the good in your life. And work is not like school at all. You do something you enjoy all day long. And you get paid for it. Like I enjoy giving advice, so I may become a psychologist, and I enjoy playing trombone, so I may become of band teacher. You pick what you want to do, and you can have fun with it.
Trust me, life can be fun if you make it to be. It just needs to be lived to the fullest.

I would not worry about it. A boyfriend is supposed to be for love alone, and you really should not worry about what your friends think. Go single. I am single, and enjoying it. Just wait for the RIGHT guy to come along, not just one who you want to date because all your other friends are dating. For love without substance, as this would be, never works. You need to like the other guy for him, not to fit in.

You do not need it for AIM backgrounds, but from my HTML days, any place that uses HTML can get a new background color using:

THE PENGUIN RULES ALL! AHAHAHAHAHAHA! *Cough*
Hello! My name is Steven, and I am a mentor. Yes, that does mean that I help other people. I have helped over 1000 people to date, and have helped some individuals for over 1/2 a year. The miracle of my life occurred 17 years ago. I say miracle only because 1/4 babies survive to be born.
I am the first born of 2 children, and I am also the black sheep. I listen to Classical Music, so you can call me a weirdo. :P. I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, so take no offense if my answers never seem to end.
In school, I get As and Bs. More Bs really. I play trombone, and was the section leader of the trombones at my school. This year, I am the captain of the entire brass section. I am an Eagle Scout, so I guess that says I'm persistant? You make the call. I am a 3 time varsity letter winner, looking for a 4th next winter. I also participate in the musical, where I am a Bass 2. :)
I am straight, and have never had a relationship beyond a friend. However, I have survived the bumps in the road, and can advise you if you wish it. Though, it's not my strength.
I'm here for you, and only you. That means that my advise will not always confort you. Heck, it may even scare you. Yet, I want you to do what is best for your mind. Not what is typically seen as best for you, but what YOU see best for YOU. Heck, if you wanted what was seen as best for you, you would've asked your parents what you should do. They give you what's typically best.
Alright, before I start getting tendinitis from writing that over and over again, I'll just say what I mean. I mean that if you ask me about something, let's say walking 10 miles a day, and I think it's rediculous, yet you are asking for something to do, I am NOT going to say "10 miles is the type of a thing a anorexia athletica would do. Try 5." I'll give you something to do.
Oh, and I'm a L1 moderator, which means I rate questions.
Don't hesitate to IM me, I'm usually on. If I'm not, just drop one in the Inbox!
Oh, by the way, I am liberal in everything. That means that abortion is a woman's RIGHT, and gay marriage should be LEGAL.
Ask away!
-Steven
