it depends on the guy
if it is a guy who is sort of insecure and not so MACHO if you know what i mean...it'll hurt their self esteem.
but if it's one of those JOCK guys then you shouldn't ask them out at all because THEY have to do the asking.
if it is a guy you've known for awhile or you are friends with..then he won't feel weird at all

well to me it dont hurt my self esteem at all... i think it should be that not only guys can ask out girls but girls can ask out guys too. in fact i respect that in girls.

Self Esteem. It is inside of you, your confidence in your own self. Not your ego, which is how good you think you are, but the confidence inside you that you can do something. It's a lot like motivation in a long term sense. To hurt it, it means that you put someone down, and they haveless confidence in themselves because of it.
EDIT: Whoops, I read it wrong. No, asking a guy out will not hurt their self esteem, only boost it. They are more confident in themselves because somebody likes them.

no, actually i have had so many guys say "WHY CAN' THE GIRL JUST ASK!?" i think it would be a good idea ofr a girl to ask a guy out, and the guy would appreciate it. After all, it is a big stress reliever when the girl just steps up.

i dont think so..guys like it when girls take charge sometimes..plus i think its an old fashioned standard where the guy always has to ask the girl out..its not like that anymore. so go for it :)
