Many of my friends say that I am a good listener and advice giver. Because I have experienced many good and bad situations, I know what it is like to feel down or confused. I am a mother, daughter, sister, girl friend, and friend. And if I can't figure out how to answer a question, I'm sure I know someone who can. And I've come to notice that most of the questions people ask they already know the answer to, they just need a little reassurance. But I will warn you that my policy is, if you ask a stupid question, you will get a stupid answer. But i will say that it is my joy to help anyone with a real problem, so ask away!

If you think being with this guy will mess up your friendship, then don't do it. A boyfriend doesn't always last forever, but a friend does.

Since the weather has been so great. How about finding a secluded area in a park and taking her on a picnic. To make it more romantic you can have a moonlit picnic, but I would suggest to do that in like your back yard though. (cant be in parks after dark) Also, try to make the meal a little funny, or like choose stuff you know she will like, and smile or laugh. Remember to be a complete gentlemen, and trat her as if you were visiting paradise. Then you two can just gaze at the stars. I bet she would enjoy it.

Do you think your friend may like you too? If you tell your friend will it ruin you guys friendhsip? Alot of times friends get together somthing happens and they break up and then you lose a friend. Make sure that if you tell your friend your true feelings, it won't ruin your friendship, because boyfriends don't always last forever, but good friends do.

Its okay to be shy,but if you really want to kiss him, get some guts and just go for it. Try not to think about what you're doing and just do it. Once you do it once, you will become more comfortable, and want to kiss him all the time.

You're right, you shouldn't be flirting. I think of it this way: if you feel the need to flirt or cheat or whatever, then maybe you're not ready for a relationship as serious as you say you and you boyfriend have. But, if you think you are the you just gotta STOP FLIRTING. Find ways to avoid the guy, or just tell him "you know, I know I be flirting with you and stuff, but its not that serious, and I have a boyfriend, so I think its fair to him, that we stop playing around."

I'm the one that works at the pizza place and was nervous that nobody liked me and was worrying about losing weight. This is to all the columnist who answered my previous questions: Yesterday a male co-worker came up to me and asked me to go into a back area with him because he wanted to ask me a question. Well, I had no idea what was up and then he showed me instructions for a pregancy test and asked me what does two lines mean verses one line, because he was not sure how to read it. I told him two lines means pregnant even if one is very light. I wonder why he was asking me? I assume he thought his girlfriend or spouse was pregnant or he could've been asking for a female freind who was too embarrased to ask me herself. I was curious, but I didn't ask any questions except, "Is there good news?" in a light-hearted joking way, and he said "It's not for me, I was just wondering." Or something like that. He told me not to tell anyone and I said "I won't." So I think this must mean that people there like me and trust me. I haven't told anyone, and I don't think this counts because it's anonymous and I could be anyone talking about anyone at a pizza place anywhere. I just wanted to let you all know that I feel much better working there knowing that they would trust me with something like that. I have a feeling the guy and a girl there are involved, but I don't know, and I'm not going to say anything, just mind my own business. Has anyone else been in a situation like this where they blabbed and got in trouble? Just curious. I'm not the gossipy type, and I hardly know these people, so it's not that difficult. If they were really close friends, or family, that could be harder, but in that case, it's even more important to keep a secret, unless it's something that is dangerous to the individual, and you have to tell for their own good. Any stories anyone would like to share?

I think its hood that your co-workers trust you, and that you decided to mind your business. Its never good to get involved in things you don't really know about.

I am 14 and a freshman in high school. A friend so many months ago got me involved in quizbowl. Later we dated. He is a senior. Now we never talk because of a quizbowl-related incident (I am a dork, I know). But another guy has shown up on the scene and I really like him. I work in a fast food reastaurant thats always busy...I never eat there but I'm always moving around and I'm never sitting...am I losing weight??? is this considered exercise???

If you're not eating the whole time, then yes it is exercise. Anytime you are on your feet moving around, you are burning calories. If you don't believe me, check your weight today, and then check it again next week. I guarentee you will lose some weight.

Break up can be tough, but you need to get over this guy. Think about it, he violated your relationship by telling people at school your business. He can't be too nice if he has to brag about scoring with a girl. My advice is to definitly move on, there is no point is being all glum for a guy who didn't give a crap about your privacy.

Hey Advice columnist i was wondering if you coud help me with a problem I have.

Okay I'm a 14 year old gurl and have had my period sence I was 12, But I have always used pads. What my question is, there really as many risks to using tampons than just pads? my mother keeps saying that they'er awful and that they can get stuck. I have done my home work and know that they'er is very slim chance of getting TSS. But what I want to know is do they really get stuck? I don't believe that they do but I'm asking this for a reason to make sure.
I'm jsut so tired when i have my period that im wet. EWWW!!! and summer will come and I can't go to pool parties with my period unless Im wearing a tampon.

You now, I don't know what it is about Mom's dissing tampons, they really aren't bad at all. Yes, there have been occasions where people have got them stuck but that is usually because they totally forgot about them, and put another one in or something else in there, or they were too light on thier periods and used to high of an absorbabncy. My advice is, tampons are fine. Go ahead and try them. I hate that wet feeling too. The only thing is use low absorbancy's. Low absorbancies alos reduce the risk of TSS. I always stick with regular. When you're heavy just change more frequently. And when you're really light, try panty liners, trust me you'll be too light to feel wet, and they are so tiny, they won't bother you. And most of all, don't forget they are in there! Hope I helped.

All i can say is find someone who you think you can trust won't use you. And if he ends up being like the rest of them, then explain to him that you are not ready, if he can't handle that, then you don't need him. Its also great to know that it is way too early to be having sex. I think you'll be able to do the right thing.

Maybe your friend does not see these bad qualities her friend has, or maybe she does and just excepts her for what she is. You have to remember, she is your friends friend, not yours. But if she is a bad person, and you think she might get your friend in trouble, you should have a chat with her about the way her firend is acting.

I can't see straight anymore. I am a 40 year old divorced woman. The man that I've lived with for the past 6 years, that I was to marry, that my three kids call stepfather and my family has accepted as my mate has told me he wants no relationship which requires any devotion, dedication or commitment. To be honest, I cannot come up with such a relationship.

We have been in a relationship which is a certificate away from being married. All of our money, friends, and experiences are entwined in each others. He and my children have been my life for as long as I care to remember. The only thing I have asked for him to do is to give me a symbol of the relationship we have been living for six years. What should I do now? Am I over-reacting in saying that there is no relationship available to us without some sort of dedication? Help!

6 years is a long time to have been together, and have absolutely no ties. Have you ever stopped to ask what it is that is pulling him away from complete commitment? Maybe he is scared, many men are afraid of big commitments, even if in reality they kind of are in a big commitment anyway. Maybe that certificate kind of scares him. And it seems to me that you do have ties; children, friends, investments. Try to explain to him how important getting married means to you, and at the same time find out what is so unimportant to him about it. Hope I was helpful.

When I was about 6-8, I was friends with this girl. When she came over to my house or when I'd go over to hers, she;d want to play house. I know what you did seems crazy, and really bad, but in reality, you need to put it behind. I can just bet what you're asking yourself? "Am I gay?" Firts of all, little kids are always curious, even when they know they are doing something worng, they still do it out of curiosity. A 6-8 yr old has no idea what his or her sexual pref. is, they are just too young, and like I said CURIOUS. Please do not let you're childhood curiosity haunt you, it really isn't that bad. First of all, I think it is crazy that your ex, decided to take a break, and is now dating your friend. I am not making any assumtions, but you should think about that. Also, if you two were to get back together, where would you and your friend Sinamin stand? And, he wants you to change? What makes him think you are not still the same girl inside? If you guys are even thinking about getting back together, you have to sit down and have a long discussion about how things are gonna be from then on. Will you and Sinamin no longer be friends? Will he really learn to accept you? Explain to your boyfriend, that you feel pressured. Let him know that just because he was ready to take that step, you're not comfortable with going that far yet. At this exact point in my life, I am going through the same thing, so I can see how you feel. Everytime I go visit my family, or my friends, they say "Mia, you getting a little heavy there..." My sister even suggested if I was pregnant! Do you know how pissed I was. I was pissed! She was basically saying, I am so fat, that I look like I am pregnant. My problem is i sit around all day, and eat, just like you. And I know how it feels to try on jeans that you have to lay on your bed to button, or can't button at all. Or, having to find shirts, that ephasize on your gut. It sucks.

I know it is so hard to just take time and exercise, especially when you're used to sitting around, but you have to keep trying. Try blasting the music in your room, and just dancing around for like an hour, until you're sweating like hell. Also stay away from soda, try Crystal Light soft drink, it taste great, my fav is raspberry peach, or Arizona green tea, its supposed to clean out your system. And you going grup on jumk, try fat free Jello products. And don't eat too much bread. Meat is okay, but not too much bread. This is what I started doing, and I'm starting to feel results, and I don't feel deprived.

P.S. whatever you do stay away from diet pills.
