ok i just started algebra in school yesterday, since it was my first day and in middle school i only did pre-algebra so i dont really know algebra.... I need some help on questions

So. Do you agree that 6/8 = 3/4?

You should. Do you see how I divided both numbers by 2?

So. Since they're equal you can substitute.

1 7/8 + 6/8 = ?

But you also ned to simplify the mixed number. (1 7/8 ). To do so, multiply the bottom number (8) times the whole number (1) and add the top number (7). Keep the bottom number on the bottom.

That = 15/8


So 15/8 + 6/8 =21/8.

To reduce or simplify, you see if you can divide both numbers (21 and 8) by another number. Iff so, you do that. We can't do that here.

Ok for #2, you need to simplify the mixed #...

23/4 * 1/3.

use - in your fraction instead of /.

so 23 1
--- x ---
4 3

Cross multiply (23*3 and 1*4). 23*3 goes on top.

#3 Again, simplify the mixed number

11/5 / 4/5 is the same. Division is dividing, so it can look like this.

To divide, youo flip the second fraction and multiply.

11 5
-- -- = 55/20.
5 4

This you can reduce.

By 5...


so dividing both numbers by 5 I get

11/4

and that's my answer.

so 4/10 -1/10 = 3/10.

My brother weighs 170-180 pounds and is about 5' 10"-5' 11" One catch. He is about the skinniest guy I know. He has like a six pack, no lies. But everywhere I look he's overweight, like am-i-fat.com and whatever. He lifts like 120 pounds, no jokes, goes to the Health Club everyday, lifts on the Boflex... so is the scale simply not considering muscle weight, or does he need help?

No, you need at least waves to scrunch for it to look real. Use a curling iron that's really wide to get waves.

whats a good way to get your hair wavy without it being all hard from like scrunch spray?? I tried braiding it after a shower but then its WICKED wavy and REALLY poofy. I just want soft ways. Anything i can do to make it this way? thanks!

French braid or french herringbone (fish braid)...salt water spray works as well.

I have Pantene stuff (specific, I know) that is for curly hair. I work it in and scrunch for 20 min. Do it the day of, it falls out at night.

hi. ok im going into 7th grade and i NEED a straightener. like you dont understand how hott i look when i use one (at my cousins house) and how GROSS i look when i dont! so the problem is, i asked my mom if i could buy one-WITH MY OWN MONEY and she was like no! its dangerous and you dont need it! i was like "im very responsible when i use them at *cousins name*'s house!" she was like well see ill talk to your father! so if they says no, what are some things that i could say so that they would reconsider?!

Well, mine has an automatic shutoff. So if I wre to leave it on for more than an hour, it would just turn off. Also, mine has plastic s it can't burn me. Lastly, it's wet to dry and ceramic, so it doesn't burn hair no matter what. Target has a good selection.

EDIT:Yeah, totally. It's the Remington Wet 2 Straight, but they might have spelled it differently. Mine is like 1.5 inches, but they make bigger ones!!!! xoxo

Hey, major question i have. Ok, i went to a softball game and i was sitting on the bleachers...and on the other side of the field i saw 2 people...the one of them looked like a guy from were i was sitting and the other one...was a girl, and i thought they were friends or somthing...so, then i started thinking, wow that guy is pretty cute...so then, i realized i looked at him a bit longer...and realized it was a girl...a very tomboyish girl,so...does that mean i'm like...lesbian or just made a common mistake?

No. You cannot eat red meat, pork, bacon, or poultry. I think fish is okay. I'm vegetarian, and I don't eat any of it, if it helps.
