Yes chicken is polutry and is considered meat. May I suggest that if you are going to be a vegetarian that you back up this diet with a good Time-released, high potency multivitamin/mineral and if you are a woman, make sure it has iron in it since your diet will lack much protein and minerals from meat (That really goes for everyone no matter what their diets are). Bill Pearl who was a Mr.Universe built a world class champion body being a vegetarian.

No. You cannot eat red meat, pork, bacon, or poultry. I think fish is okay. I'm vegetarian, and I don't eat any of it, if it helps.

Yes, chicken is meat. It's not RED meat though, and it's poultry. And if you've a veggitarian, it doesn't matter if you eat chicken or not. If you want to eat chicken, go for it. Eat the chicken. There are many different kinds of veggitarians:

Ones that eat NO meat: Steak, pork, chicken NOTHING but will eat sea food.

Ones that eat NO meat/seafood.

Ones that eat No meat, but eat chicken AND seafood

Ones that eat NO meat will eat chicken, but no seafood.

Ones that will eat NOTHING that comes from an animal: No eggs, butter, milk, dairy products in general- Those are Vegans.

You can eat chicken if you want to, it doesn't make you less or more of a veggitarian. Different veggitarians eat different things. It's up to you.

Well Chicken is Poultry which means a bird and it is technically a meat (a white meat) but many vegetarians do eat white meat (which includes: Turkey, chickhen, fish and other sea food) as a healty source of protein. These people call them selves "white meat" Vegetarians. The idea is to not eat mammals and four legged animals. And if you decide to not eat white meat you should take protein supplements so that you body can function properly. I recommed soy bugers (i like them) with Ketchup, mustard and lettuce.

Of course you can eat chicken but remember peel off the skin because that is fat.I have a cousin who eats a lot of chicken without the skin and he's thin as always.Chicken would not be really be considered as meat.

Sporkster answered Sunday August 14 2005, 10:04 pm:
Anything that you eat that comes from cooked or raw animal tissue is considered meat. So yes, chicken is considered a poultry meat. Poultry just means "bird." Goose, duck, chicken, dove, quail, etc. are all types of poultry.

You could become a semi-vegetarian and eat chicken and fish as well, since those are quite healthy for you.

Also, just an off-topic suggestion--make sure you get lots of protein in your diet that you'll lose from not eating red meats. Eat plenty of beans, or prehaps take a protein vitamin.

Good luck with your vegetarianism.

I only eat chicken and turkey because I consider myself a mamaltarian...i dont eat mammals..i recommend this because you need protein and chicken has it so your kinda like half a vegatarian l0l!! yes chicken is considered a meat and vegitarians dont eat chicken. but i strongly sugest that you start off with not eating cows or something. then after awhile stop eating cows and pigs. and so on and so fourth. because wat usualy happens is your gonna quit right away. so just work your way on up. hope it helped
