Okay, I want to "expand my knowledge" I know cheesy right, well I am the person who is at home on the weekends, and i want to go to the library and get some books. Not like stories or whatever, I want to read some books maybey on philosophy. You see i want to be a radiologist, it's a job that focusses on the body. So i would love ready some books about the body and organs and so forth. What are some book titles or authors, anything really like that.

you should start off with text books for students? because this usually addressed the topic for beginners. Other books are usually made for readers with an advanced understanding of the topic. Also, in reference to philosophy, some Philosophical thinkers are:
aristotle
augustine
Bernard Russel

Thomas Hobbes
David Hume
John Locke*
John Stuart mill*
Rousseau*

Im moving halfway through school (next week) and I've been living here since I was 6 (Im 16) and I want to show people I love them by baking cookays! Or other little simple snacks like that. Not cupcakes though, I have no idea how to make those, lmao. Maybe brownies though? anything like that.

just a note, when it says use soft dark/light brown sugar, make sure you use soft sugar. Using normal caster or granulated sugar will not work, as the soft brown sugar makes the baked goods soft, instead of rock hard. Good Luck :)

I really want to get my ears pierced but my mom said she doesn't know a place that will do it for a "fair" price. I think she's afraid to take me to some place that will charge a whole lot of money to just get an ear piercing done on me since I'm 14.
It seems like my friend said something about Wal-mart doing ear piercings a few years ago but I can't quite remember for sure. So, I wanted to know if anyone knows if Walmart will do ear piercings for me and how much it might cost to get my ears pierced at WalMart?
Oh, and if anybody does have experience with getting their ears pierced at Walmart . . . then does Walmart do a good job with ear piercing?

upon google-ing this matter, i have found that WalMart do indeed pierce ears, and they charge around the $8.50 mark. Im sure they use sterile needles and everything, simple because a big company like that cannot afford for someone with an infected ear to sue them.

I'm going to graduate this year and so we have this senior prom coming up. Everybody is making a big fuss about buying expensive prom dresses and getting all dolled up with their boyfriends for this dance and I really am not interested in it. I'd rather just chill with my friends, watch some bad movies and eat some junk food, and make a long night of it at home.
I've never been really girly so the whole $300 dress thing doesn't appeal to me. My boyfriend is cool with me not wanting to go to the prom and thought maybe I should even have my own home-party instead so that I could "do something special" too.
The problem is with my mom. Ever since I started high school my mom has been really excited about my prom day. She talked about going dress shopping and getting my hair and make-up done. She's really big into photography too so I'm certain she had photos in mind too.
Now, I thought about telling her that I'm not interested in going to the prom but if she wanted to help me have a little party with my friends instead it would be nice. She's helped me have parties before so it isn't that she would be against that--it would be that there wouldn't be a prom "thing" for me.
I know she's been waiting for this for awhile, especially to see me all dressed up, but it isn't something I want to do. What do I say without sounding like an evil cunt? I don't want to hurt her feelings with this. (link)

to be fair, i think you should keep it simple, and just tell the truth. Just be all "i dont think i want to go to prom?" simple as. Easier said than done though, so im not sure how much of a help i was. :)

I've been dating my boyfriend for almost a full month now and he STILL wants it to be private. I want to tell my friends that I'm seeing him but he keeps saying how he doesn't want everyone knowing about our business so we should keep our relationship hidden. I, secretly, told my best friend and she said it isn't normal and that boys who don't want anybody to know about their girlfriends are ashamed of them or are seeing other girls. Has he told his friends? Im sure that he wont mind telling your close friends, as long as everyone doesnt know. Maybe he just doesnt want people to make a big deal out of it. Long story short, dont worry about it too much. If it hits the 2.5 month mark, then i would start to be confused. Talk to him about it though. Ask him what the problem is with telling people, and people knowing your business? hope i helped?

upon google-ing (im from the uk you see, therefore i dont know), ive found that these are the most popular:

usually these stores change the clothes they have by season, and so assuming that you buy straight away, once they come into the shop, you will be slightly ahead of the trend, simply because other people will usually wait abit, as they are happy with the clothes they have. How do you know this is happening? Because if you're just guessing, you could look like a real jakass in the end. Has your boyfriend told you? If so, he should be the one to tell the girl leave him alone, because he cares about you, not her, and if anything, what she is doing is making him more and more against her.
If you just heard from a friend or someone, dont do anything untill you have proof, because she will deny it, and then you cant do anything about it. Ask your boyfriend, if he confirms, then do the above^^^.
If he doesnt do anything, then he isnt worth it. He must like the attention, and isnt really right for you.
If he has tried but she wont stop, then this is your que to step in. Just be all "look...what your doing is not entertaining. He doesnt like you, he likes me, so back off" or something along the lines. Dont say anything that you aren't willing to back up. Dont talk about resorting to physical violence unless you are willing to. But even then, make sure you do your research. Is she one of them girls that will get every other single one of her friends to beat you up? can you match that?
Dont use violence, unless its a completely LAST resort. Try to resolve it using words. Your boyfriend should ignore for a start. Is she talking to him through myspace? or in person? txt? etc? Im more of a facebook person, but im assuming you can block someone off myspace if you choose? He can do that cant he? good luck. Hope i helped!

So, I shoplifted the other day. Not anything huge, just some earrings from American Eagle and a shirt from Forever 21. They didn't have an ink tag or anything, just a price tag with a barcode, which I ripped off. I didn't do it because I don't have money, but I will admit, I don't like to just blow my money. I have a shopping addiction and I can't afford to buy every single thing in the store. I saw it as an easy solution. I hid them under clothes to take in the dressing room, so the attendant saw no difference. But my question is, are there security cameras in the dressing room.. is that even legal ? Or what are others ways I could get caught ?

if you are going to continue to do it..then what is the problem? Shoplifting is not good...its stealing. Now imagine if you had a store, and people were stealing from you. Or if someone stole your phone or something, because they wanted it and didnt want to spend their money on a new one. Would it be ok?
To answer your question properly, you may be caught in a number of ways:
1. dressing rooms (in my experience) dont have camera's. The staff do however usually check the number of items you have.
2. If you always go into the store and try things on, staff could get suspicious, and ask you to empty your bag or something- they have the right to do so.
3. Some (most...maybe all) do an inventory check, like, check how much of an item they have compared to what they have sold (i.e. by checking tills). If something doesnt match up, they will be vigilant, maybe check the camera's of what you picked up, what you put away etc.
4. Also, where did you put the barcode tag? If you put it in your pocket or bag, it could set the alarms off. If you leave it in the changing rooms, then again, they could get suspicious, and will take action.
Long sory short, shop-lifting is not worth it. Being addicted to shopping is no different than being addicted to cigarettes, or drugs. Granted it has no health implications, but it still is an addiction that you need to control before it gets worse and you get caught. After all, its not a matter of IF they catch you, its WHEN they catch you that you need to worry about. Because these employees aren't stupid. They recieve training, and many have loads of experience.

Last night I came downstairs really late and saw my dad on the computer. I was walking through the house to go to the kitchen for a drink and saw that he was on some sort of video-chat with another woman. She had her top off though and my dad was typing to her.
Today I sort-of tried to see if my dad would tell me anything about what was going on last night. I said to him, "You were up pretty late last night. Was everything OK?" He said he was up getting some paperwork done for work. I couldn't really do any more confrontation about it but he didn't seem nervous at all.
Over the past month I've noticed my dad coming home late from work and taking private calls in my parents' bedroom sometimes. My mom doesn't seem to think anything is strange but I'm wondering if he is cheating on my mom.
Should I talk to my dad about this and tell him I saw him chatting with a half-naked woman? Should I tell my mom about what I saw? Should I stay out of it completely? I don't want my parents to break up or get a divorce so I want this to be handled properly but I don't know if I should bring it out in the open first. Advice? (link)

i smoked hookah shisha for two hours straight yesterday from school. i know that is very bad but i feel so addicted its all i want i hadnt even slept yet. is there anything i can do or smoke that is non tabacco or drug? and no gum to get me off, i mean something in alternative. my boyfriend of nearly two years is totally against any type of drugs or smokeing and i feel like a total bitch for keeping this from him but i cant handle it idk what to do? I used to have dial up internet, and i could go on myspace. Also, i had internet explorer. After i got DSL, i downloaded fire fox. I can't go on myspace, or neopets, and a few other websites. I've opened internet explorer to see if i could open it there, but it wont let me.

since you updated your brodband internet, you should probably also get wireless internet it is exactly what I had to do, just get a netgear inverter box, they go for like 20 dollars at best buy. It has easy set up it is literally as easy as 1 2 3 there are 3 wires and thats it, it is super easy and speeds things up and it will allow you back on, hope I helped :)

Its probably just a patch of scaley skin everyone has one but the onlky thing you can do is use lostion I use Aveeno and ponds, it really works, I hope I helped

Well I tihnk is it a work of art really, the artist really painted his feelings out, it shows such texture and such emotion, it puts the person looking at the painting in a state of mind, it is pur genious to be truthful it is one of my favorite pieces, I love the way the textures are varied, it just stands so boldly and makes me really think I hope Ihelped
