I'm a teen girl and got into anime while at summer camp. I attempted drawing anime and my friends all thought they were really "good." My mom found them and was like, "You drew this?" She disapproved incredibly and doesn't want me to draw anime anymore because she says I won't be able to draw non-anime things well anymore. Both of my parents have master's degrees in art and my dad is neutral. I'm really embarrassed that my drawings were found for some reason; I guess they were kind of private.
Should I listen to my parents and stop drawing anime? I really love drawing it and I even have manga ideas.

You know, I find it interesting... the first response you have here is almost violent in tone, and the second very well reasoned.
I imagine that there is a little bit of both those sides going on in your own head over this, so I would like to ask the obvious question:
Why does she think you won't be able to draw non-anime images? When she tells you that, do you think her reasons are reasonable? If no, you are going to have to calmly explain why you don't think so, and see if you two can some to some common ground someplace in the middle.
There is something to her concerns, you know? How many styles does a great master usually paint in? One. Why is that? It takes a lifetime to culture a style, usually.
Perhaps she is afraid that anime will contaminate any non-anime art you try to do. I know several people who draw anime and, for them, this is true. Everything they draw is tinged with a style right off page one of "How to Draw Anime." :-)
Not everyone is the same. Talking this out with your mom AND your dad is a good idea. Be calm. Start a screaming match and you only hurt yourself.
One last thing: Ask yourself why you were embarrassed when your drawings were found. That might be the most important question to answer in all of this.

In my personal experience with contracts, only the resposible person is, well, responsible.
Never sign contracts with anyone under the legal signing age where you are unless the adult co-signing is who you want to go after when things go south. I am not a lawyer, but I have had a similar experience.

The purpose of the title is to tell exactly what the question is about, while at the same time enticing other people to look at he whole question.
When the subject doesn't do one of those, a mod should change it.
The original subject was "warts" which isn't enough characters to appear as the title in the side bar. When the title is too short, part of the first line of the question is used in that case.
We try to make the subject as likely to get an answer for you as possible. :-)

Hi, My name is Marissa, I'm 16 and I need a little advice..
So, I have this friend named Ian, him and I have been friends for a period of 4 years and we were super close. While we were friends I completly fell inlove with him, although I wouldn't admit it to anybody. He liked me too. He once told me so too. But I was stupid and told him that I didn't like him that way.
Now, at the beginning of the month, he asked one of my bestfriend out, her name is Kelsey. It was completly out of the blue, nobody would have expected it since everyone thought we both really liked eachother.
They're really happy together,they've only been going out for about a month now but they have both decided they wanted it to last, so their trying their best to make it work.
Neither Kelsey or Ian know how I actually feel, not a lot of people do. But I like him so much. And I find it hard to go to school everyday seeing them together.
Now recently a guy named Connor told me he liked me. I kinda like him too and he's supposed to ask me out. Although I kinda don't want him to cause I told him I liked him back but now I don't know anymore because I still have strong feelings for Ian.
I don't expect you to understand fully, but if you can offer any kinda of advice let me know, its really appreciated. (link)

Yesterday, my husband opened a package of those Keebler "Bug Bites". They are bug shaped graham crackers pretty much... Anyway, he ate one and it was stale and tasted horrible. It turned out they had expired in August of 2008... Today, he has been throwing up and has the runs. Is there a possibility that he got sick from eating even one of those crackers or is it just the flu and he needs to suck it up? (link)

Having been there and done that, I also suggest having him to the doctor for a talk about food poisoning.
Bring the graham crackers with you. Not all food borne illness is the same. If it is something that isn't likely to pass with a course of antibiotics, then they will want to send the suspect food out to see what, exactly caused the problem.
I wouldn't wait. I would take him to the doctor.
Telling someone to "suck it up" where food poisoning is involved can sometimes be fatal. :-(
I ended up unconscious in the ER with my organs shutting down because I tried to tough it out once. And that was only 16 hours after ingesting what harmed me.
Please don't wait.

This isn't a martial arts problem... this is deeper seated than that. Most children have a very definite reason for wishing to cause violent pain and damage to a parent.
As for being embarrassed about talking to the sensei, I understand... but still suggest you do so. He or she has more experience with kinds who turn violent with their training than anyone else is likely to have.
What you describe is a very common problem. It is also the reason that some studios will not enroll children that age at all. Puberty is bad enough without being schooled to hurt people.
I know, I know... self defense. Sadly, when there is emotional turmoil, all they get out of it is that they have the power to hurt someone else. The discipline has to come from when they are very young, or have matured enough to handle it.
There is a reason she wants to hurt you. My suggestion is that you get to a therapist that can help you guys work out what is going on.
As for the mock fighting idea: Worst idea ever.
If you do anything less that hurt her, she will claim that she won. Once she has that feeling, you can forget her listening to you for the rest of her life. If she lands a solid blow, you only have two choices: Hit her back (and go to jail) or let her run the house forever.
I am serious: If you do the mock fight, you will likely lose any ability to help your daughter... forever.
Please get this problem into a counselor who has some experience with this.

My understanding is that if you buy the screen protector, cell phone cover or other accessories at Best Buy, they will install them for free in some cases.
If it is something that means taking the phone apart, obviously they are going to have to charge you something for that.
If you bought it somewhere else, I can't imagine it costing more than $10 to add most covers to your phone.

Hi there,
Yes, the LG Optimus S has the keayboard available in both formats, but it doesn't cover the entire screen in either mode. If it did, you wouldn't be able to see what you were typing. :-)
The LG seems like a nicer phone to me, just from tech specs, reviews and the general layout.
The best way to get a feeling for the touchscreens, especially the Sanyo Zio, is to go down and play with the demo phones.
If you really hate the on-screen keyboard, there is always the Samsung Transform available with a slideout keyboard for not too terribly much more money.

Hi there,
The manual says NOTHING about this, but from experience with other phones, I am going to suggest that you check the various volume levels:
Alert volume
Touch-tone Volume
Keypad volume
... and whatever else you see in the menu. One of these probably holds the key to getting your phone to do what you want.
Your cell provider knows the phones pretty well, so if it doesn't work when you adjust volume levels for the various features, then I would take it in and have them show you how to do it.
You pay a bunch for service, and this is part of the service so you might as well use it, right? :-)

I got the Sims 3 today and I took the time to download it and when I went to go run it, it said that I didn't have the right video card and to check my hardware system. I have Service Pack 3 so it shouldn't have anything to do with that because the Sims 3 requires Service Pack 2. I also have plenty of space on my computer to download it. Does anyone know what could be wrong with this? I spent $50 and I would hate to not be able to use it. (link)

Just to add a couple things to Peeps' excellent answer:
The video card is indeed a piece of hardware (a physical part) and has nothing at all to do with what software (service pack) you are running.
There are video cards out there that will run less than $100, but if you are going to use the computer for more graphically demanding games than The Sims 3, you might want to invest in the best card you can afford.
For the future: ALWAYS check the requirements for any new game you are going to purchase before you spend the money. If you are in doubt, post a question with the requirements and your computer hardware listed and someone here will sort it out for you.

Hey, I'm the president for my class and b/c of that I have to participate in the charity fundraiser coming up, some teachers and like class officers are involved. Anyway it involves getting slimed (u know like nickelodeon green slime? loL!) if people put the most money in your bucket (like the top three get slimed). I sort of have a reputation for being fashionable and dressing up a lot and I was voted best dressed so a lot of people say they'll donate for me if I wear like my regular school clothes to get slimed (something like a nice top, high waist skirt, tights, and heels.)
If I say that I'll dress up for it then a lot of people will donate in my bucket and I'll definitely be one of the people getting slimed. So yeah, we'll raise a lot of money but I'll have to get messy and get one of my outfits messy although people will probably remember it and it'll make it easier for me to get reelected. If I say no and wear really casual clothes then probably other people will get slimed and i'll stay clean, but we'll raise less money. What should I do? (link)
