Yeah, sorry dude, but this topic is not music related. It has to do with my love life *sing-songy tone* and this will be the last time i bother....or will it? Anyhoo, I'm only 15, i'll be 16 in december, but i look alot older than i look,and yes, i am always full clothed, some people think i'm in college, i look like i'm in my early 20s, so of course, i attract guys in their early 20s, i don't do anyhting with them, i always tell them my age, so they don't get the wrong impression, or get in trouble. See, during the technofest here in detroit, i met a guy named mike, ( this is gonna take a while), mike is a "male entertainer" who is 22, hes cool, but he gets the message that i ain't gonna put out. we still talk...mainly flirt, but thats about it, no touching.
Then theres this other guy, urijah, hes 28. hes a year older than my older brother, he worships me, but i really don't want anyhting to do with him beyond a friendship level...i really don't want anything to do with him at all, now that i think about it. i don't know how to tell him that....i mean i do, i'm a very blunt person, but i've never broken anyones heart before, and i don't want him to be angry, or upset.
Now there is this other guy shawn, i like him alot, hes 19, and hes gonna be teaching me guitar lessons soon. I think shawn liked me ( ya' know liked me "liked" me) until i told him that i'm only a junior and that i'm 15, he was smart enough to back, cuz he knows i'm jail bait, but, once again i would never do anything with him, i'm a prude, and i've seen many girls my age pregnant... what do i do? sorry this was so long, but i need in the perspective of a guy. My other guy friends don't really understand, and i've read the advice you give and it seems logical...so a little help here?

Oh no! Don't compare old advice with new! You may get disappointed. Anyway, we always make fun of guys who desire girls 10 years younger than them. Personally, I'd feel a little awkward dating someone 3 years younger than me. Oh god, I'm going to repeat myself, but everyone breaks someone's heart. At least I've never met someone who hasn't. Besides, I think it's okay to break a guy's heart whose 28 when your 15. And I like that you're blunt, it's the best way to get something across. Other than that, I don't really think you have to do much of anything. I don't think it would be wise to start a relationship with any of these guys, but then again I don't really "know" any of these guys. It's always dangerous having guy friends much older than you, most guys I know are assholes in more ways than one. Even a lot of my friends are. That's about all I can say without sounding big brother-ish, feel free to bother me whenever you want.

i'm a teenage girl and, like most teenage girls do, i want to meet someone i like and have a boyfriend...so this brings me to my question: guys - where do you normally meet girls? and if you think a girl is hot/cute but you don't know her, will you try to talk to her even if you aren't at a party or anything like that? or are you too shy/don't care enough?? oh yeah, and do guys care as much if they connect with a girl or do they just like anything with two legs that will talk to them? sorry, that sounded a little harsh haha BE HONEST (link)

Anything with two legs! Sorry. I usually don't look for places to meet girls. I don't go clubs or anything. I met some at local concerts. I meet most at school. I'm normally too shy to talk to someone I don't know, unless they're not with any friends. Most of time if I do I make a complete idiot out of myself. I normally don't connect because most of the girls around here are taken. I'd be treading on dangerous ground if I ever did. I've had conversations with a lot of girls at school because I'm an art major. In art classes, you get a lot of people complimenting your work due to the class being so informal. It's a good conversation starter.

I am twenty one years old and have been married for over a year. My husband and I recently discovered that we are pregnant. Though it wasnt planned, we are both very excited and happy about it. So is everyone else... my friends, my family, even my mom. Everyone, except for my father.
When I told him the news, he was completely shocked, which I could understand. I called a few days ago to see how he's doing, and he said some very mean things that made me pretty upset. I dont understand this reaction, because he also got married and started a family at a young age.
Its been about two weeks since we broke the news to him, and he just seems to be sad and disappointed in me.
I just want my dad to accept this and to be happy for us, but at the same time I dont understand why I am so strongly seeking his approval.

I think the reason you strongly seek his approval is because you love him. You realize that you did nothing wrong, and you strongly wish your father could view it the same way. As for your father's odd reaction, maybe he just remember's how hard it is to raise a family at a young age. He's probably more disappointed in himself because he may feel that he should have prepared you better. I, personally, don't see having a child at your age a bad thing, it's just harder. Juggling school or work with taking care of the child can be maddening. He'll probably come around soon. This is just my view, everyone's is different. I hoped I helped in showing you someone elses. If not, I hope I didn't do more damage.

Yeah, I figured the band had broken up, but i just wanted to keep hope alive, but now i must face the fact that the band has broken up *lol* I saw 40 below summer in concert with ill nino, they were awesome! I like allota different bands in allota different music genres, like the Insane Clown Posse, yeah they are not that great, but i still think they are cool, thats all that matters. Thanks for being honest and answering back, and sorry if i scared you, i have a habit of being upfront, and to ask questions when i'm curious. But you gotta tell me about some bands out in Ioawa, i like small local bands, they aren't as jaded as some other bands that are in the mainstream. You should hear soem Detroit bands, they're awesome! I'm kinda tired, so i can't give you a list of what i like exactly right now, i'm still a little groggy, but if you check out my advice column, its on the side with all the other info about me.

Local bands around here that kick ass: Jack Rabbit Slims, Marcato, Screaming Monkey Boner, Bury the Survivors, Cloud 9, and Beno. The rest kind of suck. Some of my favorite bands are Refused, Beloved (The Running), The Bled, Blindside (A thought crushed my mind), and anything by Mike Patton. Not sure if you will like them though. No one has the exact same taste.

Yeah, i know I'm not in dire need or anything, and this may seem wrong, but I notice that you like Factory 81, and i thought i was the only person in the world who liked that band, (can't you tell I'm bored) *lol* So you must be from detroit? thats the assumption I'm making, please don't shoot my hopes down! I am very, very, very, very, sorry Victoria. I have some bad news and some very bad news. Bad news: I'm not from detroit, I'm from Iowa. Very bad news: Factory 81 has not and will never make another cd. They no longer exist because they broke up. They were a great band.
To make up for this loss, I'll give you a list of bands you might like:
1. 40 below summer: Try their first album if you haven't already. It's called Invitation to the Dance. It has an edge that their sophomore album lacks. Like Factory 81, their a rap-metal band. Their rap approach is less angery, but they make up for it by having a larger number of beautiful singing voices and an awesome scream. A thing to watch out for is the lead singer's weird sounds. They can take some getting use to.
2. 36 Crazyfists: Instrumentally similar, these guys don't rap. They combine punk with metal in an emo-singing pissed off screaming frenzy. Once again, their first (Bitterness the Star) is the best.
3. Dry Kill Logic: These guys are extremely catchy. they make up for their lead singer's limited screaming voice with catchy everything, badass, pissed off rapping, and an unbelieveable singing voice. I've only been able to get ahold of The Darker Side of Nonsense.
4. Raunchy: I'm not sure about Raunchy. I could get into their new album, but others around here have not. Their on Nuclear Blast, so have tend to sound, instrumentally, similar to the likes of In Flames, Children of Bodom, etc. The lead singer is great at blending a catchy scream with a beautiful screaming voice. Confusion Bay is where he really shines.

this may be a weird question, but i just wanted to see what people thought of my situation:
i'm not saying this to be mean, but you have to know it to get the full picture - i have a cousin (21) who is sort of one fry short of a happy meal if ya know what i mean...she lives in another state and is now pregnant with the baby of a man of another race who she nolonger is seeing. i'm the only person in our family that she has told, but she claims that she is going to come to our home state (where all my relatives live) in december after having the baby without first telling anybody...my problem is that i don't want my relatives to find out that i knew and didn't tell anyone but i don't want to disrespect her by telling either...like i said, she's sort of odd and i know she won't understand where i'm coming from - anyway, she may not even come home cuz she never really does what she says, but it's still a big deal!

(sorry, i think we've already accomplished that... lol) anyways, he thinks that 2 years is too big of a difference, he treats other girls the same way that he treats me, (like a princess), and i just wish that I would be the only one that matters to him. forever. Trust me, coming from a guy, it's not possible. Just be brutally honest with him. Don't lie and say you're not looking for a relationship or anything like that. What happens when you date someone else? He ends up feeling even more worse. Just give him the friend line, it's the least painful way of turning him down. Tell him you like him as a friend, nothing more.

Better than my time at your age. Around 15 minutes for 1 mile. Of course, I walked half of it and I was a sprinter. But that's good, try to beat it.

HI Im a 14 year old girl and i told a guy I liked him right before graduation. we aren't very good friends but a friend of mine told me "he didnt want to ruin the friendship" and im pretty sure that is just an easy term for the words "i don't like you" but then at the dance two days after my friend told me the news he wouldn't stop convienently running into me and kept walking up to me like he wanted to dance but then would just say something sweet and walk away then he asked me to dance and kissed my hand. Well, your typical guy wouldn't do this, especially if he didn't like her. There's no telling why he gave you the friendship line. It could be because he was still crushing over an ex, or maybe something else. My point is that he definitely has feelings for you now. Did he give you his number, if not how did you get it? Either way I think you should call him and invite him to something, a party, anything. I also advise you to do it as soon as possible.

My boyfriend & I just broke up. It was the best relationship I ever had, even though we argued alot and were off & on many times. The break up was because of trust issues/cheating & that we tended to argue alot. It seems now that everything reminds me of him and I can't stop crying. I still love him and I'm pretty sure he feels the same. Our relationship was full of good, fun times and great, funny conversations. Do you think we could get back together if we gain more trust for each other and stop arguing so much or do you think a relationship like ours doesn't stand a good chance? (link)

You two might someday get back together, but I don't advize you to constantly dwell on it or try. The memories are only memories, it may never relive them because things may never be the same between the two of you. I think you should find closure. Try talking to other guys. It's normal for people to look back on happy memories and miss their ex, constantly trying to recapture those memories is another story.

I wish we all had friends like you. If I had a friend with me telling me not to do all of the dumb things I've done, life would be a lot happier. You've tried to convince her otherwise. I'm sorry to say that that's all you can do. If you try to convince her anymore, you'll only piss her off, and she'll still probably do it. She has to learn that it's a mistake herself. And perhaps the only way to do it is to go through with it. Who knows, maybe she won't see it as a mistake. Everyone views every situation differently

ok .. ive been with the same guy for a year. thats good for me cuz i never do that .. but last summer i talked to a guy noname and we were going to date but we decided not too because our familys were best friends and we didnt want to mess that up if something happened. well me and my boyfriend are haveing some problems because i have a new job maken goood money and we never get to see each other because we have different off days. well my mom and i and nonames family went to see kenny chesney. last thursday. well boyfriend didnt like that to much and was being a rude asswhole.. which in return to that made me cry in front of everyone in the hummer limo!! my whole like was messed up .. well after i was droped off noname was helping me carry some stuff to my car .. he was being really sweet and was tryn to make me smile and i guess just feel better! well he told me he was going to call me i returned with you better because we are really good friends . well needless to say he leaned in and kissed me i was shocked i didnt know what to do but look away and say why? .. now he calls me every day makes sure everythings ok and my days going good .. his little cousin lives across the street and he told her that he really did love me .. thinking it wasnt true he even told his aunt which i know wouldnt like about something like that ... he comes by my house alll the time .. he even came by jus a little while ago. i keep having all these mixed feelings and i dont know what to do . i mean i do love my boyfriend but i feel that im just tired of the same ol thing i dont know what to do ....its been two weeks since i seen my boyfriend and im going to see him tomorrow .. but noname will see him 1st. they have to get sinor pic. done tomorrow and noname is still really mad and ive asked him not to say or do anything to him because idont want to make things worse. boyfriend knows about the whole kiss thing and he says hes not mad but i know deep down it hurts him but over the last couple of months hes really hurt me ... every time iget off the phone with him i end up crying. i dont know what to do anymore.can anyone help me? It sounds like your getting bored with the relationship. It happens to most who last as long as you two did. Besides, he's making you cry everytime you get off the phone with him. I think you should at least take a break. I know you still like him, but you need to see what it's like without him. Maybe with this other guy. This other guys seems infatuated with you. He seems a little needy to me, but if you like him give him a shot. See how it works out. And of course he's affected by the kiss, but I think he's more pissed than hurt. If the family thing is what's still keeping you from dating, then I wouldn't worry about it. Whose to say a relationship won't end with you two still being friends (if it would endat all).

why is it ok for guys to check out girls and the guys excuse is "its in their genes" but if they find out that their girlfriend checks out a guy then they get all mad and jelous? its not ok if a girl does it but if a guy does then its just normal for them to? girls get hurt a lot easier then guys do... I don't think guys are joking around when they check out girls. What kind of joke is that? Who thinks that's funny? Does the guy think, "Hey, I just pissed off my girlfriend by checking out another girl. That's hilarious!"? I think it's because some guys just can't control whether or not they look. They've been doing it for so long they don't even notice when they do it. It's all really just down to the individual. I try not to check out girls when I'm dating, and I would be slightly bothered if someone I was dating checked a guy out. It's still okay if she does it though.
