No, what for? You just said you were ok, there's no need to go chasing after some different guy. No one really "needs" a boyfriend (I'm assuming you're a girl), especially when you're only been single for 3 weeks. Take a little break for yourself, there's nothing wrong with looking around I guess, but there's no reason worry yourself going after guys. Maybe some guy will go after you.

You mean what the major difference is? Well, summarizing might include paraphrasing, but you're not including every detail, just briefly stating the main points of whatever you're talking about. If you're paraphrasing, you're reiterating everything in different words.

Q: if you set your friends list to private, can other ppl still see your mutual friends?

Well, if you mean, is there a link or whatever, some kind of easy way to just kind of click-and-go to see your friends, then no. If you mean, can they see your friends at all, then technically yes. Unless you set your whole profile to private, even if you use codes to hide them, people can still see your friends, comments, etc. but it involves a bunch of cutting and pasting all this different stuff, which surprisingly a lot of people don't know how to do, so it's still not likely.

Q: so i started school this year at a big highschool, and i've been making a lot of new friends and stuff. and i usually add people on myspace that i've seen at school to extend the circle.
so i added this one guy kevin, because a few of my friends are friends with him and i figured "why not". but we've been talking a lot and now i think that i might like him. the only problem is we're both REALLY shy so we barely ever talk in person. we flirt alot and stuff, but just on myspace. i know, gay.
and if i ever told my friends who know him they'd automatically tell him and make it really awkward, even if they promise they won't.
so now, my friend katie added him and now she's flirting with him A TON and it's so annoying. but if i say anything to her i KNOW for a fact, even if i tell her not to, she's going to tell kevin that i told her to stop flirting with him and then he'll get freaked out.
i want to hurry up and become really good friends with him so i kind of have an advantage over katie, but since we're both really shy, i'm not sure how fast or easily that's going to happen.
i'm just afraid that katie is going to try to steal him from me, which some how she does REALLY easily with a ton of guys.

This sucks, since you're both shy, but if you just wanna get on with it, you can kinda poke fun at the situation and message him one day saying something like "Gosh, have you noticed we never talk to each other at school?" or something like that (yea, gay, but you wanna get over it or not?). Tell him that you think you should start talking in person (in a not-so-obvious-you-wanna-get-close-to-him kinda way). I know you're shy, but if you see him, smile and wave at him, then start actually SAYING something, maybe mention something from myspace (again without making it obvious) and little by little get comfortable with each other to START conversations. In the mean time, you should still tell your friend to stop flirting with him. I know, there's probably some reason you're SURE she'll tell Kevin, but if it annoys you THAT badly, just tell her seriously and be like "PLEEEEEEEAAAASSSSSSSSEEee don't tell him it'll ruin EVERYTHING for me." Friends can't say no to that=/

Q: there's this movie called "the blair witch project" and i have it and i watched it, but i don't understand it.

was it real? what happened to that guy that was missing, did they find him dead when that guy was staring in the corner and she was screaming?

Yeah, everyone's heard of the Blair Witch Project, and no, it isn't real. That guy that went missing's presumed dead (the piece of his shirt that was found has blood and gunk on it), and I guess at the end they were about to be killed or something. Interpretation's up to you.

Q: Me and this girl are bset friends, i love her and she knows it, she goes out with this asshole who treats her like shit and tells me she only used him to get over her ex, she asks me what to do and i tell her that the question hurts me to much to answer, now we are not talking and i am crying constantly. She told me to wait for her to break up with her bf, i did and she rips my heart out and throws it in a blender by not telling me she didnt have feelings for me... plz help me i dont know what to do and i cant sleep....

From what I understand, the only thing I can think of is to tell her everything you just explained... Yeah, I know, might feel weird, but she couldn't've meant or wanted to hurt you if you're best friends, and she can't possibly be mad at you if you explain that everything about this mess hurts you because of her. She has to understand, there's no reason to be mad at you, and if anything, she should be glad she has you.

Q: I am in 11th grade in high school and I like this girl who’s in 12th grade. She’s both smart and very beautiful, and I’m not actually just saying that. Last year during school she would try to get my attention by doing a lot of things for like 8 months. However I never reacted to her and then she started to date her friend’s brother from another school. I really regret that I didn’t do anything to show her that I liked her. Eventually I called her right before school ended. She told me she had a bf, but that we should still talk sometime. She said she had dated her bf for a month, and I remember that every time she saw me she looked really sad. Especially on the day she bought prom tickets for the both of them. I called her back again and we talked for a bit since it was late. Eventually I had to go on an international vacation, so I called her but her mom picked up the phone instead. I just told her mom to tell her that I called.
When I got back from vacation I wanted to call her but decided to try to talk to her in school. When school did start I found that I didn’t have the courage to talk to her. We met in the halls in the mornings but we just look at each other. There was one time she said hi to me and asked me how my vacation was but all I could say to her was "hello" and "good". There was also another time when she actually said the words, “I like him” just as I showed up in the hallway. However she said it behind my back and I didn’t confront her about this. This was probably the most stupid thing I have ever done. I still like her a lot but I’m not sure what to do. In fact I think I’ve fallen in love with her.
Since this is her last year in high school I really want to try to date her. Even though she never told me that she liked me I can tell that she does by the way she acts when I’m near her. I've joined some clubs in school for college application help and sometimes she's in some of them. She would also do things to get my attention during club meetings. Anyways, besides our very brief talk in school we haven’t continued to talk. One reason that I was afraid is b/c if we do talk I’ll ask her if she still has a bf, and of course she’ll reply “yes”. Then I would probably do something stupid like hang up on her. If I did do this I probably would ruin any chances with her. I mean I’ve let her down so many times and have probably hurt her a lot. 1. After everything I’ve screwed up, is there a chance that she could have any feelings left for me? I mean she still drops subtle hints and stuff, but I’m constantly worried everyday whether she still likes me or not. I mean doesn’t the fact that she drops hint whiling having a bf suggests she doesn’t have 100% loyalty to him?

2. How should I try to establish a connection to her again? I mean it’s been like a month since we last talked (counting the brief talk) and like 4 months since our last conversation. Its way too awkward for me to call her, I mean I know I’ve said she’s important to me and that this suggests I would do anything to try and reach her, but its because of how important she is to me that I’m afraid I’ll screw up again. Should I like just ‘wave’ to her while we walk past each other in school? I’ll be going to a soup kitchen next Wednesday for a club that we’re both in and I really hope that she comes, I feel as it would be easier to talk to her alone while having something to talk about right away.

3. I don't understand why she wants me to know that I like her even when she has a bf, does she want me to try and steal her away or something?

4. Is there any way I can ease my jealousy over her bf? I mean I know they’ve probably kissed and made out, but I hope nothing more has happened. Also there’s a party this week for Halloween and she’ll probably go with her bf.

1. I'd say you still have a chance with her. I don't think she's "dropping hints" to make you jealous or anything, it's probably just natural (imaine being with someone while you like someone else... you probably couldn't help it, right?). Just give it time, since I don't think "stealing her away" would be the best thing to do right now, especially since it was a "your loss" kinda thing.
2. Don't worry about screwing up. Just keep talking to her like you would a friend you haven't seen in a long time. Why make things awkward for yourself without having to?
3. I'd have to know her, but if she still really likes you, she might, but I don't suggest doing that. Like I said, it's just natural.
4. Umm, you can try... but when a person likes someone who's with someone else, it's not just s easy as saying, "Just get over it." Unfortunately, though, that's exactly what you have to do.

Q: hey! soo my two bestest friends in the whole wide world are coming over on halloween. one has a little sister and shes going trick-er-treating with her bff in my neighborhood and my other friends little brother is disabled and is going to dress up and come over for a little to drop off my friend. the one with the little brother is dressing as a NUN (dont ask why.. shes crazy like that! thats why i lover her!)!! and we were planning on watching halloween movies and stuff but we dont like scary movies. we were also going to eat smores and popcorn and stuff but i wanted to make it more "halloweenish". also, i have to hand out candy so idk what to where..

I need more details, but if you guys rarely even see each other, I don't think you should let him know (imagine some guy you barely even know goes up like "Hey, i really really love you!!!!"... Weird, right?). If what you wanna know is if he likes you back, then do the immature thing everyone does at some point: Get someone to ask him. Not to straight out be like, "Hey, so... you like *yourname*?" But like in a normal conversation ("Hey, so *blahblahblah* happened in class today and *yourname* and I were talking about it... You know her, right? I think she's *blahblahblah*, what do you think?). If you wanna know what to actually DO about it... well, nothing o.0 If you've got a crush, you got a crush. It happens, and it's not necessarily love, and there's nothing to do but let it runs its course, somehow complicate it and make a fool of yourself, or somehow end up going out. Like I said, I need more info, so with what I've got, I've gotta tell you to just let it happen; you'll get over it=/

Q: For the past month or two I have liked this guy. His name is Riley and he is very sweet. We talk all the time and we always flirt and joke around and compliment eachother. He always tells me how awesome I am and how he thinks I am one of the nicest girls ever and how I am alot of fun. I think he is really sweet, funny and understands me. He is a grade older than me and he goes to another school.

My best friend is really good friends with him so she talks to him alot. She found out he really likes me, but there is one problem. He also likes 4 other girls. I think you should tell him. Better to just get it out of the way, right? After all, the way things are now: He likes you, and you like him, but he doesn't know, so obvoiusly you're not going out.
If you tell him, he'll probably be glad because he likes you too, and he might ask you out. The worst that can happen is that he doesn't ask you out because he doesn't wanna hurt anyone, but would that REALLY be that bad? You guys aren't going out anyway, so might as well take a chance, and it's better to take that chance than let those other girls have it, don't you think?

Q: i think i may be bipolar. im happy one minute, sad the next, ticked off the next, and then fine the next minute. i saw this commercial, where u can get a packet online, and it will teach you how to treat it and everything. now, should i get that packet, and do whatever it says, or should i get professional help from a doctor?

I think you should get a proper diagnosis first. No sense in getting that packet thing (I'm sure it's not free) if you're not even sure what's wrong with you, right? Sometimes mood swings are just mood swings, but you need to know for sure. If you ARE bipolar, you should probably still learn more about it before you go off trying a whole bunch of stuff.

Q: I'm a writer...An amateur one, anyway.
I'm a sophomore. Well, at my school, there's a creative writing class. I'm part of it. I just wanted to join to get an easier class (because I can write.)
Now, they like my stories. And they're pressuring me to join clubs and contests and write more and more.
I'm not ready for that. I don't want this kind of pressure. I get enough craploads of homework from other classes and now this?
The thing is..they're all so close, the other creative writing students (in the clubs and all) and I'm more of a reserved individual. I don't want to take part. I'll do the school work, sure. But I only write for myself at any other time. The clubs/contests are volunatry. You don't have to take part. But they pressure me. And I don't want it at all.

No, you're not. There's no reason for you to do something you don't want to. If you're good at something, show it off... but don't pressure yourself into doing more than you can handle, because then you'll just get sick of it and you just won't wanna do it at all. Anyone pressure you, just politely decline, and if they still won't leave you alone, explain what you just did=]

Q: I have a friend, she's more like a little sister, and she often comes to me for advice. Usually they are matters that I can help her with or at least make her feel better when she needs to. She's been through a lot, growing up all she basically had was her mother and a tough mother to deal with at that. At times her mother wasn't the greatest and could be a real jerk, but there were some times she seemed to really care and take pride in her daughter. It's hard enough to tell my friend everything is going to be okay because her mom has a brain tumor, but now things have gotten worse. Her mother came here from Germany and was married then divorced and some how or another has been here illegally. Now she is probably being deported. Her lawyer says things aren't looking very good for her and that more than likely she will be deported. My friend is taking this really hard, though her mother hasn't always been the best she is all she has. I tell her I am here for her, which is all I know to do, but she's so worried. Her mom is putting everything she has in my friends name which is also making it so that my friend can't go to college like she was planning. How can I help her get through this? I know I can be there for her, but that just doesn't seem to be enough right now.

Sorry this surely won't be any help to you, but there's really nothing you can do. It happens, though; sometimes something happens and you so desperately wanna help a friend, but everything is totally out of your hands. It may seem like you're not doing enough, but trust me, in a situation like this, just knowing that you'd do ANYTHING to make your friend feel better is already more than enough, because i'm sure your friend already knows that's the most you can do. Distract her when you can, but if she HAS to talk about it, listen. Again, sorry, but unless you've got millions of dollars to pay for the lawyer that got O.J. Simpson off the hook, it really does sound like you're doing the best you can=/

I can't really think of another point you could talk about (that other person gave you a pretty good link), but something i'm pretty sure would help your essay is that apart from making YOUR point, mention the other side of the argument (why some people say it's a good idea) and argue against that. A teach once told me that when writing a persuasive essay, it's not enough just to make your point... give a reason why someone might disagree with you and CRUSH it=]
